Something you didn't mention about the manta vs S&Y choice was how important cutting waves was to his vision of the game. The hood gives him the sustain he needs until heart, so cutting waves and not hard committing makes manta more logical. I don't think it's just a personal preference, more his general plan on approaching the fights. Hope that makes sense
He has like a hotkey for every single illusion and they have different job to do, he's literally everywhere.
I think it takes skill to realise and notice when someone on the enemy team is playing very very well. It also brings a different viewpoint and perspective when you analyse someone else's good play(s) and decision making. Since Dota can "arguably" be played many different ways, it's pleasant to see when people do something different that also works more importantly when it's explained in an easy to digest manner.
I also personally have a lot of respect for people who are able to give out justified praise to others and acknowledge their performance.

This was a real masterclass of a PL game, I think very few players would be able to apply so much pressure and create so much space as a hero like PL so early into the game buying his team (who seemed to be getting stomped at times) so much time.
You need to be in one of these games to really appreciate how much of a nuisance he was being, and how he enabled himself to even reach the lategame through these numerous micro-decisions.
That guy is a beast. And only 18 years old...

This guy is insane. I was focusing on enemy heroes being baited by his illusion micro, happened nonstop. I was blown away, Im honestly gonna try that. Feels like like a thing only masters of a hero can do

@@twelvesevven4678 wrong, its fine with meepo but when using PL, there is only 1 illusion that has the same tankiness as the real one, while continuously creating countless illusion, so you need to preset the control group for that 1 illusion and also for the other illusion. if you watch BSJ PL video guide you'll understand better but it is different with PL so that you can't really tab right click.

But when you try to implement it gets in over your head.

i want just to point out that at 31:45 ursa got on top of him with bkb but instead of hiting him with illu he joked and ursa chased illu jumped on it and by that time he got out and got back in took baracs while his illus hitting the back line .. mind blowing daamn it feels good as 500mmr player to watch pro dota XD

At 14:50 he aggros the centaur creep with his lance illusion and pulls it toward the heroes chasing him to try and get a stomp. Absolutely nutty.
That's one of the most ingenious things I've seen so far

I think the manta is for this moment at 20:07, notice he dispel the fire spirit TWICE with doppel and manta to kill phoenix cleanly. If he took 1 or 2 second late to kill phoenix, i think BSJ team will burst pl down. Anyway what an insane manta cd awareness he use it just when it off cd. i think manta is also a preference for him (know exact manta cd)
Also egg, stomp, oracle, ursa q. A lot of debuffs that he can avoid if he's on crack

this was good. would love to hear why he went manta over sny, but just watching his gameplay kinda tells you. also the rest of his build was all about poke for which manta is superior I guess.
BSJ to every one: "don't be in lane with no health/mana... predict the need for sustain, Don't be a useless piece of shit" ... BSJ vs PL ... in lane, low health, no sustain and no regen queued XD
Well, BSJ on that lane fell into a situation most of us would fall into if we played vs BSJ himself :)
@@maximpokrovskiy4416 absolutely, I am not trying to trash talk the guy... he is an awesome player, but he also does the exact same thing that he trash talks other people for and makes many of the same mistakes.. what makes it worse though, is that he knows the mistakes and yet still makes them. That was a nasty lane for him, but knowing that it would be, he should have itemised better from the start.
I dont think that the easy concepts for beginners can be easily applied to higher ranks, bc they care about much more than only "who has more health" - which 'does' matter alot in lower brackets, ppl just know their/others limits better
What I think many NA players do not seem to realize - and SA, my region, is heavily NAesque in this respect - is that he plays the game as a TEAM game in all aspects of it. There is no twinkle twinkle little star that outshines the rest of the team as they all count on their team to do what they do. Not only "not afk farming", but also being there to take fights and using whatever contribution you can, even microing your hero to bait, as a fighting tool. It's not only that "your team randomly feeds" while you're farming, as there is no opposition between you and your team. you ARE your team. those things are obvious when said, but its hard to see players that actually play it like this. this guy is an example of it.

This is one if not THE best series on the channel right now! It's both informative and entertaining to watch whilst being a decent amount of time.
Nothing against coaching nor the students, but it's refreshing to have the perspective of a proplayer with BSJ's analysis and learning those things without all the back and forth of the coaching session and redundancy of 2-3K games mistakes (for example).

Become so pro at what you do that even if you didn't mean to do something people will themselves assume that you meant to do this when they see your work. I have seen this kind of thing in eminem's songs too he just drops an album and people comeup with all kinds of nerdy shit in the comment section which eminem didn't even think of but gets the credit about how clever he is. Beginning strong right at 2:38, this was actually a TERRIBLE pick as PL for this game.... PL is at a heavy disadvantage against Cent, Phoenix, and Tiny. But insane skill can obviously overcome that.

you could argue for both options.
maybe phoenix thought that laning stage with centaur would be manageable even with lvl1 dive.
in the end phoenix and centaurs lane payed an high price, so it was a mistake on the phoenix side.
phoenix compromised his laning stage for the rune to get a small goldlead for his whole team.
if pl did not capitalize on this greedy play, phoenix would have been right.
But phoenix disrespected pl and aa and lost that bet.
