Fantastic job Richard and friends, some great footage and an excellent production.
Certainly a far cry from the usual guy on a platform trying to shoot over the crowd.

Loco Fireman from Australia here, What the crew was saying about preserving it all and passing it on is something we preach down here as well, these railways are our homes this our culture our livelihoods our families legacy, I pour my heart and soul into keeping my home depot alive and id damn well off myself if it went away.
The Production of this is very high quality as well, despite knowing almost everything the fireman was talking about it was still enjoyable and I didn't get bored at all.

Absolutely fist class Richard. The GCR is reasonably close to where I live and I have visited it many times and watched it grow over the past thirty years. It was well put together from start to finish and what a great loco and crew to share the experience with. Thank you for sharing.

Brilliant. That was high end documentary quality... truly. The entire video looked stunning on my UHD TV... much like our trip to Germany videos... feels like one is standing right there. That's a lot of money invested in Go-Pros, drones, and more. Those men put in a hard day's work. Anyhow, bravo!

Excellent video Richard, well produced and a nice pace. The conversation on the viaduct was particularly interesting. Lot of hard work being done by some very dedicated people. Must be thousands of hours a month the keep the railway running. Makes my restoration work look rather insignificant by comparison! I hope the work continues so the past may be preserved for the people of the future. Cheers

Michael Portillo and Chris Tarrant have got some fair competition now for railway documentaries, that was excellent Richard. Great in depth look into what it is required in getting a steam locomotive out on the rails, really top quality there mate. Don’t know how you’re going to top that one but I’m sure that you’ll raise the bar a notch again. You and Dave from Dean Park Station could easily produce something together, his interviewing technique with Simon Kohler was first class and your eye for action and camera angles, marriage made in heaven! 👍🏻😀

Even spent some time at Rothley Signal box during the summer holidays learning how it all worked and handing over tokens.
