    Amazing video and explanation, thank you for sharing this knowledge. Had a general question (not looking for clinical advice, I am working with an orthopedic specialist). For a hand fracture (spiral 4th metacarpal dislocation fracture) that’s out of a cast for a few weeks now, I still feel a bump and the finger is likely shorter. Will stressing the finger with grip work and lifting heavy weights, help to remove the bump and remodel it faster or better?

      Hi Nabil, I'm sorry to hear about your hand. That's a great question! Moderate stress on bone does promote remodeling but I wouldn't recommend pushing it too much. It will take time to heal and the bump from the fracture should continue to decrease in size over the next few years. Hope it all heals well soon.

    Sir how long does it take to heal pcl avulsion fracture with mild displacement?

    • @WyzSci
      @WyzSci  2 года назад +1

      Bone itself will heal in about 6 weeks but since avulsions involve tendons & ligaments it may take longer.

    Is it true after having a complicated fracture (non-displaced), one should wait a year before running?

    • @WyzSci
      @WyzSci  4 года назад

      I’m not familiar with the specific clinical guidelines but depending on the location and nature of the fracture it may be wise to avoid high impact activities.

    Do all bones remodel, including mandible jaw?

    • @WyzSci
      @WyzSci  2 года назад +1

      Yes, remodeling is essentially the extended restructuring / healing process of bone.

      @@WyzSci how long does it take for bones to remodel and do they go back to their original shape after remodeling?

    • @WyzSci
      @WyzSci  2 года назад

      @@oguzsozer8347 It depends on the extent of the injury but remodeling occurs on the order of months to years.

    I hit my nose with something and nose became taller. What is going on here? Does it become thicker or changed shape?

    • @WyzSci
      @WyzSci  4 года назад

      Elena Johnson That’s interesting. The tissue probably became thicker. The bridge of your nose right between the eyes is bone but the rest is mostly hyaline cartilage. The word we use to describe an overgrowth of tissue is hypertrophy. So you probably experienced some hypertrophy from injury to the tissue.

      I’m sorry to hear about your injury. Unfortunately I don’t have the clinical expertise to answer this question. I’d recommend reaching out for a consult from an orthopedic doctor. Hope your injury heals well!

    Hello sir, i had an small accident and 5th metacarpal was fractured, and it's just in position, doctor said, no need for k-wire , just split is enough for 6weeks. 2weeks back split is removed, now 2months completed, but fracture line still visible, how long it will take to go off crack line on x-ray, and I'm afraid of do physiotherapy, because when I'm doing physiotherapy some pain on fracture site. Give me some suggestions, please, thanks in advance....

      Vijay, I'm sorry to hear about the fracture. I'm not sure if I can appropriately dispense medical advice for this injury. I wonder if you could try the physiotherapy within your own amount of tolerance?

      Tissue injury leads to release of growth factors that promote regeneration. When you study inflammation you'll learn about the cellular and chemical events that set the stage for tissue repair.
