I am a member of HRANF in Jacksonville and I had heard of this hunt / find and it was a fantastic opportunity for your group. The ring find is absolutely wonderful. It’s fantastic when you uncover something of historical value. I was lucky enough to be allowed to hunt a property on the Florida / Georgia border and found what appeared to be a muck covered can lid. Upon cleaning it it turned out to be an antique silver Scottish medallion likely lost by one of the Scottish Highlanders brought to the area by James Ogilthorpe in the 1740s to defend the new Georgia colony from the Spanish of St Augustine (I found a 1718 1 Reale not far away). This medallion has references to William Wallace and Robert Bruis (Bruce) and also includes 2 references to my own family, including the family motto. So I can appreciate the excitement of this group upon the discovery. Well done. (There is a RUclips video on the medallion. Look for Chip Kirkpatrick SHED)
Well done Rob! I was glad to be a part of this, I will always remember the thrill of the hunt and the climactic stunning presentation of that historical find!
you and your group rob are to be honored and respected for donating your finds to the museum to preserve history for the generations to come . stories of history will be added to some, and taken away from others, though word of mouth but relics will remain the same and tell the same stories . and you sure know how to end a video , it put me on the edge of me seat , wow ! i hope your names will be in the museum as the ones who found the relics , thank you sir.
Michael, I appreciate your kind comments. We are proud of the find and of the donation. The Ma Barker house has been moved to a local park and is being made into a museum. The ring will be displayed there with recognition to our group...Rob
The Crematory tag may have dropped off one of the gurneys. But an undertaker in Ocala did pick up the bodies. They were sent back to Oklahoma for burial in October 1935 - over 8 months after they were killed. It took George Elias Barker several months to raise money to have them buried back at Williams-Timberhill cemetery outside Welch, in Craig County, Oklahoma. Ma was buried next to her son, Herman Barker, who died in a gunfight with Wichita, Kansas police on August 29, 1927. Then Fred was buried next to her.
A stunning find, and presented in a way that speaks well of the hobby and of course your club as well. Only problem is now we all have to step up our return presentations in light of this!! Great hunt and I hope it leads to a lifetime of awesome permissions!! GL and HH!!
Thank you so much. We planned the presentation just hours after the find. We were ecstatic when we found it but there was just four of us left at the end of the day when it was found. We kept it a secret even from the club members so the excitement could be shared by everyone. We also hope that it will lead to other permissions as you mentioned. Thanks so much for watching.
No. Ma Barker was never Public Enemy number one. That title belonged to gang member Alvin Karpis. Ma never had a criminal record, in fact. She was caught in the cross fire between Fred and FBI agents led by Earl J. Connelley. Read about it in my new book "The Barker-Karpis Gang: An American Crime Family." by W. D. Smith, available on Amazon.com
Thank you. We were very lucky to be able to detect that site. Even more lucky to find that ring. It was exciting beyond belief. Thanks so much for watching.
38 special fits those snub nose revolvers. I think it is a British round developed to replace the .455 Webely in WWI. The sterling case is for carrying vesta matches . it should have a rough bottom to it. I was amazed that nobody thought to run their coils over the tree trunks for outgoing Ma Barker projectiles. Great video.
Thanks so much for watching. I never did any research on the matchbox so thank you very much. I will pass that on to the property owner as it will end up in the museum. I actually did run my coil up and down several of the tree trunks for bullets but found nothing. Not sure why , Maybe because it's been 80 years. Maybe they were removed over the years by collectors. Thanks again for your input..
You lot impressed me with your friendliness to each other. You had a great day. I still reckon there may be bullets high up. I watch young She Detector , but she doesn't seem to have many places to detect in Florida. Very nice woman I think always replies to me and speaks well.
Thanks bud. It was extremely exciting from beginning to end. Even more exciting when we presented Fred Barker's ring to the property owner. Thanks again for watching.
sorry if this is repeat information... the Parkers are buried in Welch Oklahoma. I have a distant family member buried there as well so I have seen their graves. The story is someone comes out or did go out to decorate their graves but no one has actually seen them. So whoever it is if they still do prefer to remain unknown and left alone.
Thanks so much for watching and for commenting. Actually the house has been Hunted many times but not organized hunts. The neighbor even came out and told us we would not find anything as he has seen people searching the property for 50 years. Just goes to show you nothing is ever hunted out.
So much never hunted? Wow, I know the feeling. I went over my yard ( not very big) many times with two different machines to keep finding targets over and over. Those 38 short had to be famous way back then. My day had a 38 short and used it for his service side arm with a three number serial number. Now..... I tried to find bullets with out any luck. HH GL & God bless
the closer bullet casings were from agents cars parked out front of the house as depicted in crime photos, agents used their vehicles, probably moved during the lull in the battle between the time it started and the caretaker entering the house.
Wow, did not know that. Very interesting. I may just have to look up some of the old crime photos which I never did other than a few of the aftermath with guns displayed at the front door.
wow thanks so much for your kind words. It is one of my better and exciting videos but I have others. Thanks for subscribing and I hope you will look back at some of my others.
The lighter case you found looks very much like a Vespa match case, at least that's what it would be called in the UK, there should be a serrated imprint on the bottom for striking the match, I found one many years ago while on a dig, great video really enjoyed it.
I have fished in a bass tournament in the water directly in front of this house...I always thought it would be great to metal detect this place..good to see you did...happy hunting..
That one object that someone said might be a lighter case, looks more like a silver match safe. They came in forms from plain to heavily decorated. I enjoy watching these types of videos, they bring a modern connection to the past
It really is a cool find and even better was the reaction to George, the fellow we gave it to. He was flabber gasted the entire night. Thanks so much for watching.
The video was well recorded...nice Job! Loved the history and tour of the house, many neat things. Did you say in the video that a photo was found with Fred wearing a pinkie ring?!
Thanks so much for your kind words. We never found a picture of Fred wearing the ring as there are almost no existing pictures of Fred other than mug shots. We did read where all the gangsters wore gold signet pinkey rings from that time period. It all just fit together.
Actually he is thrilled that we made that discovery prior to selling the property. He is moving the house and putting a museum inside of it. Thanks so much for watching my videos. I'm trying to improve them each time. It really is fun making them.
Critter, I'm honored. I appreciate you watching and especially subscribing to my channel. I was so lucky to be included in that historic hunt and Recovery. The word is the ring may even go to the Smithsonian. That would be awesome.
+Critter T thanks bud. I have learned a lot about making videos since my first one. In the beginning I did not even know how to combine videos so I made short ones of individual finds. I think most are still pretty good but of course some better than others. I appreciate you watching.
+Critter T If you are going to watch some of my past videos , checkout the two where gold coins were found. Neither coin was my find but we're found by good friends of mine. They are not very long videos but they are exciting and two of my favorites. Thanks again for watching.
Thanks Eric. I felt it was a special video but it is exceeding the views and comments I thought it would get. Heck I find myself watching it multiple times. Thanks for commenting. Rob
WOW THATS AN AWESOME FIND. I dont understand what he meant that the ring "changes" history. The history that the Barkers were there were already authenticated that just gives one more fact of proof. And thats awesome!!!! The sad thing is theres more to be found Im sure....... GREAT JOB YOU GUYS!!!
Thanks Bridget. Not sure about the history comment as well. He was just overwhelmed and so surprised. We just went back 2 weeks ago and did find some more shell casings but nothing else...Rob
I've been Metal detecting for 25 years I don't know what it's like in your area but since the advent of these portable cameras that people are walking around and taking movies of metal detecting in the woods and parks has created a lot of our woods to be shut down to Metal detecting because the people in power think we're taking tons and tons of coins making millions of dollars. For those of us who have been detecting for a long time now this is absurd we can go sometimes weeks maybe even into a month without finding a silver dime etc.. Hopefully none you experience what we have in my part of the country but I believe these videos really hurt our hobby over the years.
Hello Ralph. I'm sure all the videos do contribute to hurting our chances to detect certain ares but I have actually gained opportunities from some of my videos. Also I have been contacted multiple times from my videos to help someone find a lost piece of jewelry so I guess it works both ways. Thanks for watching...Rob
Ralph Buglio...That makes too much sense...Anytime the Jewish Zionist state thinks someone is making money and they are not getting any...They shut it down and take it over...There are too many examples of this , but ill give you the best...The Numbers game from the Teens to the 70's made little bookies a good living...Then they stole from them and exacerbated it into the billion dollar rippoff it is today called "Lottery"
getredytagetredy you're right about that can you think of something to do about it you think you can shut down the NFL you think you can shut down McDonald's you got any ideas I'm with you if you do
Thanks bear digger. I never thought so many people would watch the video with it being 45 minutes long and I am totally amazed at that. It was an incredible find. Thanks so much for watching.
you found something special when you found Pam .but Ma ,was not the criminal the FBI portrayed to the public after killing her. according to either Harvey Bailey or Charlie Mackley, "she couldn't plan breakfast".more Pam!
Zthank you for sharing ,WOW so very interesting , is this the first time that anyone ever did a dig there ? That you no off , digging up history ,love it ,thank you guys , you got a new subscriber ! ❤️🙏🏽🇨🇦
Hello Heather. Thank you for watching. This was the first organized hunt but the owners have caught others in the past that poached on the property. No telling what they found. Thanks for subscribing...Rob
We were told that the grounds had never had an organized hunt. But they had chased off people metal detecting many times. The neighbor told us we would not find anything as he had seen people detecting there for 50 years. Haha. Thanks for watching and for commenting.
Wow that was an amazing find Rob, well rescued to the guy that found it...I bet you were all ecstatic when it came up I know I would have been..I might have missed it but was it a gold ring?...
Oops sorry just saw this. Yes it was a gold ring. Actually a 10 karat gold ring and my buddy that found it had a replica made from 14 karat gold rings that he had found himself. Turned out exactly like the one found. The one that was found is now in the museum in the city.
The song Ma Baker (they changed barker to baker to sound better!) by Boney M reached position 2 in the UK charts in June1977 think you'll like it! ;-) was fascinating seeing the the house & getting the history, great finds (so many bullets!) good luck to you & your friends for future finds.
Stuart, thanks so much for watching. It is interesting to think about stuff like that. Was that ring worn robberies, hold-ups and other crimes? I sure it was.
Ma Barker was not a bank robber she was a old woman of the great Depression that only had her sons , Fred Barker ,his two brothers & Alvin Karpis were the criminals , J Edgars agents killed a innocent old woman that played jigsaw puzzles all day & he covered it up after this shoot out , if yru read any book or watch any interview with any living criminal of that era , they will tell you that she was never a criminal other than traveling with & participate in the hiding of her sons , Even Alvin Karpis , the leader of the Barker Karpis gang said she was just some innocent old lady!!!! JEdgar was constantly putting fake news in the papers , the FBI made so many mistakes in those days because they didn't have the proper training like they do today , In the infamous Iittle Bohemia shootout trying to catch the John Dillinger gang & Babyface Nelson , no bank robbers were even shot or caught but the FBI did kill three innocent people instead by accident & it was news all over the country so when it happened again with Ms Barkers accidental death , J. Edgar Hoover covered it up by telling the news papers that she was the mastermind , theres no witness testimony in any news paper article prior to her death that even brings up her name or being even a accomplice in any robbery or kidnapping that the Karpis/Barker gang ever committed!!!! He blamed alot of criminals also for crimes they didn't actually commit like Pretty Boy Floyd accused of being one of the shooters of the Kansas city massacre when he was recouperating from gunshot wounds on the otherside of town!!!! I can't believe they got movies based on Ma Barker all because everyone wanted to believe what Hoover put in the papers SMDH
I read a lot of history on the barkers and the gangsters of that Era alot of the bullet casings were never recovered at this house and one book I have tells about an fbi agent taking Fred's ring and in his haste to flee dropped it and never went to pick it up so the ring definitely could be Fred's
Wow Robert. I never heard that an agent may have taken and lost the ring. That is interesting. I will research that. The ring has been appraised at between $20,000.00 and $50,000.00 for historical value. All parties are in agreement that it was Fred's. Thanks for watching...Rob
I am amazed that all of you are out there digging in the yard of a home that Ma Barker rented and you are asserting that all the relics found in that yard belonged to Ma or Fred Barker. Didn't anyone live there besides the Barkers. What about the original owners.
Thanks so much for watching. We were just having fun and joking about the different items belonging to the Barker gang. Some of the older coins and such could have but no way to prove it. The ring is almost definitely Fred Barker's. His three initials engraved in the ring and it is from the period. it was a fun hunt and we found a lot of neat items.
I just happened across this video while watching other detectorist videos. the subject is interesting though I am guessing by the way they are handling the finds that they are not interested in the value of possible forensic information like fingerprints and DNA that might have survived. I don't know if that is possible but the possibility is intriguing...enough to merit more careful handling of the finds anyway.
Hey Digger. The FBI was mostly interested in shell casing and bullet locations. We had to GPS the location of each one we found. Thanks for watching...Rob
It was determined to be an old toy. Patricia who found it was allowed to keep it. Not sure if she cleaned it or not. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. If I find out anymore about the gun I will post it here.
ol' Fred was probably going for a dip in the lake ,w/ his jewelry and shoes on the ground, and could've easily lost it.he could always get another one after a bank job. then again, those waters have Gators ,don't they? I could put up w/ Florida heat rather than swim near gators.interesting, tho.
thanx. I just now also heard of the Fed who dropped the ring apparently. you guys are standing right where their arsenal was laid out for photos. I remember when I was a kid, I wore out a book called (Whitehead) 'the FBI story' at the in-school library. been fascinated by tommy guns ever since, tho I never fired one. actually fired an M-16 on semi-auto (good shot group)at a ''civilians welcome''day at an ARMY shooting range. that's the weak sister to the Thompson.
Ma Barker was never ever public enemy number one hahaha. Alvin Larpis was one of only four people declared public enemy number one. Ma never planned anything not even breakfast. She never shot a gun and she was not clutching a Tommy gun it was between her and Fred who was actually using it. She was killed by one bullet while Fred was riddled. I suggest reading about Alivin Karpis
Larry, thanks so much for watching. We just entered the ring in the Eastern Western Treasures magazine for find of the year. Hopefully we will place...Rob
I enjoyed finding n watching your video. It's not often I find one on RUclips, so close to home. I was raised up in weirsdale, rite down the road from Ma Barker's. I've lived on lake weir most of my life. I now live across the lake now in Summerfield. Hopefully you'll be able to detect there again, I would love to see more videos. I was brought up with the story's of Ma Barker n her sons...such interesting history. Good job on the video.
Stephanie, thanks so much for your kind words and for watching my video. We may be able to hunt the property again plus we are hoping to detect some of the other properties surrounding the area. This has opened up some doors for us. Thanks again.
Ya I know they did, it was all over the news. I've sent plenty of nasty mesgs n my opinions of the situation. I still can't believe they destroyed it! I've in this area most of my life. I've lived in Summerfield now for the past 6 years, on sunset harbor rd by lake weir middle school. I moved to my grand parents property when they passed away. It's nice n quite here.
I live just down the road from bird island. I lived in Ocala for 10 years before I moved back to Summerfield. It was not quite, that's why I love where I live now. Yes people don't voice their opinions as much as they should. That's why this country is in the state it is in! Hope you have a wonderful day too n Happy Halloween to you too! I've been trying to get the treat or treater's to come to our house for the past few years, but we have a large property(compared to most who live around here) with a long drive way n wooded area. I think most are to scared to come down here. Next year were thinking bout doing some kinda haunted walk though the woods tour here. Something different for the neighbor kids too do...lol
These things take money, guys. I spent a lot of time in that house and property from the 80s-2000s. A lot of fun memories. If I was smart, I would’ve gotten a meatball detector but oh well. The house was largely abandoned by the family recently which had gone in many different directions and the house was in a state of disrepair. The owners did their best to negotiate a sale with the govt in order to keep the history intact. This is the best compromise they could come up with and I think they did a good job.
If in fact the casings you found were fired by Thompson's Machine Gun, you need to be looking about 25 feet away from where you found them. The gun throws the expended cartridges quite a distance. The FBI was using 38 special revolvers then so they would have been dropped where fired.
No we hunted it twice before the house was moved to a park across the lake. We made GPS spots where we found all the items. We found pockets of different types of shell casings. They figured out exactly where the FBI agents we're standing from the pockets.
VERY INTERESTING AND EXCITING VIDEO.. i WAS THINKING THAT AFTER CLEANING UP THAT SILVER LIGHTER CASE YOU MAY HAVE FOUND INITIALS.. THE RING WAS EVEN BETTER. WHAT ARE THE CHANCES THAT THE RING WAS INSCRIBED... OTHERWISE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN JUST ANOTHER GOLD RING/ AMAZING! i WISH i COULD COME DOWN AND GIVE IT A TRY! THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING! ARE YOU GUY AND GALS GOING BACK TO GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY? MAYBE USE A LAWN SPRINKLER HOURS BEFORE TO INCREASE THE SIGNALS OF ITEMS MISSED. SHOT BULLETS PROBABLY WENT 8 TO 10 INCHES IN SOFT SAND. MANY SHELL CASINGS COULD BE DEEPER ALSO. USE 15" COIL'S AND IF POSSIBLE RENT A DEEP SEEKING TREASURE DETECTOR. HH AND GL NEXT TIME
John thanks so much for watching. We never had a chance to clean up the sterling silver match case. We gave it to the property owners immediately following the hunt. It just may have initials on it. We would like to go back but the property was sold the following week. We still may get a chance to go back and I know we would find more stuff. that hunt has generated an incredible amount of Interest. it is really fun being involved and I cannot wait for them to get the house moved and the museum in place. Thanks again.
As my mother, Roxie Geer was an eyewitness to the shootout & often exchanged greetings with Mrs Blackburn I probably would have given my left arm to join you on that hunt, congrats.
You people are off the hook thinking everything they find there belonged to the Barkers ,,,assuming hilarious little stories to embelish these finds....Were'nt they only renting this house for a minute??? Typical Americans
getredytagetredy I believe it was a vacation resort back then think what you want about Americans but we got the best Outlaws on the planet you better know it
@@thedrowseproject No offense but if these detectorists were trying to "get rich" then I don't think the found ring would have been DONATED to a museum. These good folks seem to enjoy their hobby & camraderie & also love history. 😀

Ohio, thanks so much for watching and commenting. It was a very exciting find. It's cool knowing that it will end up in the museum.
I really enjoyed watching this video. Lots of history and the ring was awesome! Good job!
Thanks Texas. Yes the history associated with this ring find is mind boggling. Thanks so much for your kind words.

So cool! What a find!
Thanks Silver. I appreciate you watching.
A interesting fact is that Mattel Toy company produced the original M-16 machine gun for the Federal government
That's very interesting. I never knew that. Thanks for watching.
Great hunt! Great finds! Awesome video! I'm subscribing!
wow thanks so much for your kind words. It is one of my better and exciting videos but I have others. Thanks for subscribing and I hope you will look back at some of my others.

Pooch, thanks for watching. You are exactly right. A couple other viewers identified it as a match case.
Awesome video!! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for watching.
Absolutely amazing!!!!!! Congrats
Thanks again Hank.

+FloridaRob.com every minute very good video I enjoy it thanks.
Incredible! What a cool find!
It really is a cool find and even better was the reaction to George, the fellow we gave it to. He was flabber gasted the entire night. Thanks so much for watching.
Great that you caught that moment on camera. Good show!
The video was well recorded...nice Job! Loved the history and tour of the house, many neat things. Did you say in the video that a photo was found with Fred wearing a pinkie ring?!

Bruce Weiss thanks Bruce. Enjoyed meeting you in Culpepper. hopefully we will run into each other again. Rob.
Wow great hunt. I'll bet hes sorry he sold the property now. Hope you will be able to go back again. Enjoy all your vids, keep it going. HH GL Carl
Actually he is thrilled that we made that discovery prior to selling the property. He is moving the house and putting a museum inside of it. Thanks so much for watching my videos. I'm trying to improve them each time. It really is fun making them.
Extremely interesting. First video I've seen & subbed🎈
Critter, I'm honored. I appreciate you watching and especially subscribing to my channel. I was so lucky to be included in that historic hunt and Recovery. The word is the ring may even go to the Smithsonian. That would be awesome.

+Critter T If you are going to watch some of my past videos , checkout the two where gold coins were found. Neither coin was my find but we're found by good friends of mine. They are not very long videos but they are exciting and two of my favorites. Thanks again for watching.
that was amazing great video
Those finds should belong to the people living in the house...Not a bunch of people with opportunist metal detectors...Or split 50/50...To be fair...
We donated ALL the finds to the museum...Rob
cool place and cool finds ! enjoyed video
River Thanks so much for watching.
Wow! I wish so much I could join you guys! Best wishes from Canada.
Esther Phenix Thanks for watching. Hey, im half Canadian. My father is from Milton...Rob
I live very close to Milton! If you ever decide to come up here to do some digging, I might be able to help you find some great spots!
Wow thanks for the invite. You never know...Rob
I've been Metal detecting for 25 years
I don't know what it's like in your area but since the advent of these portable cameras that people are walking around and taking movies of metal detecting in the woods and parks has created a lot of our woods to be shut down to Metal detecting because the people in power think we're taking tons and tons of coins making millions of dollars.
Ralph Buglio...That makes too much sense...Anytime the Jewish Zionist state thinks someone is making money and they are not getting any...They shut it down and take it over...There are too many examples of this , but ill give you the best...The Numbers game from the Teens to the 70's made little bookies a good living...Then they stole from them and exacerbated it into the billion dollar rippoff it is today called "Lottery"
getredytagetredy you're right about that can you think of something to do about it you think you can shut down the NFL you think you can shut down McDonald's you got any ideas I'm with you if you do
Great job fellas!
History Uncovered . I love your name history uncovered. Thanks for watching.
Just plane TERRIFIC!!
Thanks for subscribing...Rob
amazed that area hadn't been detected earlier.
We were told that the grounds had never had an organized hunt. But they had chased off people metal detecting many times. The neighbor told us we would not find anything as he had seen people detecting there for 50 years. Haha. Thanks for watching and for commenting.
as you know the ground 'grows rocks' the farmers say, stuff moves around, up and down . it's fun finding., Ma Barker is no kin to my blood line
+wm c barker when I saw your name it did cross my mind if you were related.
I like Florida too
Buen video compañero suscritos a su canal un saludo desde España
I don't understand Spanish except for the "good video". Thank you
+TreasureJack Great. Thanks for the translation Jack. I'm going world wide.
The song Ma Baker (they changed barker to baker to sound better!) by Boney M reached position 2 in the UK charts in June1977
think you'll like it! ;-) was fascinating seeing the the house & getting the history, great finds (so many bullets!) good luck to you & your friends for future finds.
Just watched the video of the song Ma Baker. Definitely about the Barker gang with a twist. So much stuff out there. Thanks for sharing.
+FloridaRob.com
you're welcome Rob & congratulations to James Alan (what a find for the history books!)
subscribed & you are a gentleman.
Very COOOOL!!
Just Sayin . Thanks so much for watching.
at 700 florida chuck finds a pendant water diverter from a fire sprinkler head. LOL that's what it looked like before I saw the flowers.
LOL. It does kind of look like that at first. I never really examined it any closer to see exactly what it was. Thanks for watching.
great video
Thank you Sheila. It is my favorite video and that was quite an experience from beginning to end.
You guys club house is top notch!!
Hank. thanks so much for your kind words. We do have a great club with about 180 paid members. Thanks for watching...Rob
nice vid !! always fun
Thanks again.
Brilliant story ! I wonder what sights that ring has seen in its time? Good outcome well saved
Stuart, thanks so much for watching. It is interesting to think about stuff like that. Was that ring worn robberies, hold-ups and other crimes? I sure it was.
Ma Barker was not a bank robber she was a old woman of the great Depression that only had her sons , Fred Barker ,his two brothers & Alvin Karpis were the criminals , J Edgars agents killed a innocent old woman that played jigsaw puzzles all day & he covered it up after this shoot out , if yru read any book or watch any interview with any living criminal of that era , they will tell you that she was never a criminal other than traveling with & participate in the hiding of her sons , Even Alvin Karpis , the leader of the Barker
Karpis gang said she was just some innocent old lady!!!! JEdgar was constantly putting fake news in the papers , the FBI made so many mistakes in those days because they didn't have the proper training like they do today , In the infamous
Iittle Bohemia shootout trying to catch the John Dillinger gang & Babyface Nelson , no bank robbers were even shot or caught but the FBI did kill three innocent people instead by accident & it was news all over the country so when it happened again with Ms Barkers accidental death , J.
Thanks so much for watching and for your input.
Where did all the Lead go? all them bullets flying from Ma and son .
From our understanding a lot of the bullets and shell casings were picked up after the battle by curiousty seekers and collectors.
that's not a lighter holder. its a silver vesta.- match box
Yes thank you. Another viewer told me the same thing...Rob
Greatest ring return ever....mic drop that
gigaspud Thank you so much for your kind words. It is a special memory. The ring will soon be on display in the museum that is in the works.
that was awesome guys.
Thanks so much for watching. I never make videos that long but had to make an exception for this one.
the key with a triangle was a old ford key
Thanks Riverflyer. Agreed.
cops carried .38's regularly.
Very nice Vid!!
Thank you so much. One of my favorite videos I have ever made. Thanks for watching.
But the house was moved from across the lake!!!
Correct. We hunted the house property before it was moved.
Looks like a old ford or mercury car key
Agreed. I remember Ford product keys looking like that. Thanks for watching.
+Dave Cook Not sure. We do not have the key any more as we had to give it to the estate. Thanks for watching.
Really enjoyed this great video. Did anyone ever clean up the revolver and find out what it really is?
It was determined to be an old toy. Patricia who found it was allowed to keep it. Not sure if she cleaned it or not. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. If I find out anymore about the gun I will post it here.
You know the G men had BARs. Good luck hiding in a wood sided Home when 30-06 slugs are coming in on you
Agreed, Not sure why the actual battle lasted for hours. Thanks for watching.
I always thought it was ma baker!! due to the song by Boney M!
Thanks for watching. I will have to check out the song?
I would like to join your club, I live in Miami, I hope your news ..
Look up The Central Florida Metal Detecting Club on the internet and you can join. Only $25.00 per year.
Was Bob Barker related to this family
I guess that is possible but I have never investigated that.
the 2nd key is a ford key
Agreed. Thank you.
Very cool y'all DON'T plow the land till y'all look again 😵
James Butterson . Thanks for watching. We did hunt it again and I have posted a second video.
5:37 what was that
I have had several people comment that they heard ghosts in the house.
ol' Fred was probably going for a dip in the lake ,w/ his jewelry and shoes on the ground, and could've easily lost it.he could always get another one after a bank job. then again, those waters have Gators ,don't they? I could put up w/ Florida heat rather than swim near gators.interesting, tho.
thanx. I just now also heard of the Fed who dropped the ring apparently. you guys are standing right where their arsenal was laid out for photos. I remember when I was a kid, I wore out a book called (Whitehead) 'the FBI story' at the in-school library. been fascinated by tommy guns ever since, tho I never fired one. actually fired an M-16 on semi-auto (good shot group)at a ''civilians welcome''day at an ARMY shooting range. that's the weak sister to the Thompson.
Yeah i was at Ma Barkers yard and i found a hand grenade and couple M80 firecrackers
Any ghosts??? :)
Sounds like you already know the house has ghosts. They did not show up while we were there. LOL. Thanks for watching.
Was the gun real ???
It was not real. However it was an older toy gun and they made them so much more realistic in the day. Thanks for watching.
I suggest reading about Alivin Karpis
wow
Larry, thanks so much for watching. We just entered the ring in the Eastern Western Treasures magazine for find of the year. Hopefully we will place...Rob
the gun could have been fbi they carried snub nose
I have many books about the gangsters of that Era from Bonnie and Clyde to the barkers and dillinger
Good lord
Thanks so much for watching.
to cool
Thanks for watching. Still one of my most memorable adventures.
Thaaaats period :)
lakecityransom . Thanks so much for watching.
k
Thanks for watching.
:D
Thanks for watching. Rob
Thanks Terry. We hunted the entire property and found pockets of the different shell casings. We GPS'd them for the FBI...Rob
Was this before they moved the house?
No we hunted it twice before the house was moved to a park across the lake. We made GPS spots where we found all the items. We found pockets of different types of shell casings. They figured out exactly where the FBI agents we're standing from the pockets.
@@FloridaRobTreasureHunting so cool I love history.
Great.. once its moved and the ground is churned up a bit.. more may be found! GL
+John Harvey Agreed. We hope to get one more chance.
Wow, could you not realize we were just having a lot of fun with this?
getredytagetredy I believe it was a vacation resort back then think what you want about Americans but we got the best Outlaws on the planet you better know it
@@thedrowseproject No offense but if these detectorists were trying to "get rich" then I don't think the found ring would have been DONATED to a museum. These good folks seem to enjoy their hobby & camraderie & also love history. 😀
Not buying it
Awesome
Thanks so much for watching.
