Everyone keeps getting it wrong. The new head sculpt (smiling head) that comes with this Venom is actually Mark Bagley’s design, not McFarlane’s. Don’t believe me? Look up Venom Lethal Protector comics 1993-1995. The old Venom smiling head sculpt Hasbro did for the December 2015/January 2016 Absorbing Man wave Venom was the McFarlane design.
@ShartimusPrime Bagley was always my favorite Venom artist so, for me, I just notice his style right away. I've seen a ton of people calling it a McFarlane head though, so you're certainly not alone.
@@Enigma2K99 venom with a realistic humanoid body mold should be mandatory because he is not a monster when he is bonded with Eddie, he just sticks on his body like a suit The only thing that changes is the face

I had minor paint smudging on the chest that I was able to fix with pen and paint marker. The white paint seems to flake a little and could probably use a clear coat. A neck mod on the figure helps it so much!
I love the logo on the Knull 2 pack best. But this Can possibly be the go to Venom. They improved enough to kinda justify picking this up. Thanks for the review bro meng.
i love this venom i got mine last monday and i’ve been obsessed with it Venom is my most favorite character ever and i love it idc if im bias it’s my figure and i love it id totally recommend it
Not sure why Hasbro went in this direction of using softer plastics for more recent figures (not only ML, but also Star Wars Black Series and Power Rangers Lightning Collection), but quite a few of my recent ML purchases have had warping/soft joints and it's tragic to see it, especially in the bicep swivel, were these often break.
I feel like a venom figure with the sculpt and body style of the marvel select version with the articulation of marvel legends would make for the best venom figure ever
This figure is awesome! I definitely like it over the Superion mold Venom or the Venom movie figure for sure. I love the Todd Mcfarlane esc. Headsculpt, the modernized headsculpt is a little funky but still works. Tolerances are great, so is mobility and bulk. My only complaint was that the hands had some extra molded plastic and I had to cut some of it away so that the hands could move forward and back a lot easier. I’d definitely recommend if you can find it! The gloss is something I can understand people not liking, I personally like it because it’s very reflective it’s good at reflecting colors.
I just got my Marvel Legends 85th Anniversary Venom a couple days ago..& even tho i already have the Knoll 2 Pack & Monster Venom..i still wanted a more classic Todd McFarlane first appearance version.. WITHOUT toes.. for my collection..& im very happy with it..i wouldn't have minded an Eddie Brock head..im gonna display mine with the OG smiling head sculpt anyway so im ok without it Anyways great video brother.. looking forward to more of your Marvel Legends reviews 👑
The Venom from the Absorbing Man line is still 1 of my favorites, but this 1 is definitely awesome and scales nice with the renew your vows Spider-Man. For a newer figure I wish they would’ve went pin less & included toe articulation, but not a deal breaker. Always enjoy your reviews & I can honestly say your 1 the reason I keep collecting brother. Thank You
It's interesting how Walmart ships these figures out. Mine was in proper shipping box and came in great shape. My Warlord arrived in an envelope. Still in great shape, fortunately, but it makes me wonder what the criteria they use for for deciding what does and does not get a box.
I do believe it's an upgrade, but if you already have the animated Venom, Venom 3-pack, and/or Knull-Venom 2 pack, it's not really a must have unless you really want that torso upgrade. Maybe if they made this Venom have the bluish color, it may be more desirable pickup to people who already have a venom
Only review I've seen compare 's king in black venom to the new figure it's a shame they didn't give the movie venom butterfly joints would have made it incredible. Great review as usual🔥
I got two shipped in a box, but some genius stuffed them in there forcefully, resulting in one card getting bent. Luckily, it was the one with better paint apps on the tongue-action head sculpt, so that was the opener.
The bigger teeth look good for a more sinful look and the other headscan looked better for a cartoon version and that nonconsistant black shine would make me fully Repaint the whole thing lol
Spiderman figure collecting is just a constant search for the perfect venom figure. I think this figure out have been better with another head and toe joints and non gummy joints
This Venom has a much better torso articulation than the 3pack Venom. The spider logo is painted better, the headscults are better. But it has horrible head articulation which hurts when making many Venom poses. For the record Shartimus, the issue is not the dumbell articulation in the head, it's that the Marvel Legends team doesn't know to make it work. It's ball on the dumbell is too deep. It should be higher to not impede articulation. If the ML Team will not do it properly, they should stick to the older hinge articulation that at least gives you great up and down range.
Hey @Shartimusprime! Idk if you will see this comment but I know you usually get to ask hasbro toy makers some figures you would like to see. If you get the chance please ask them to make a fear itself wave with Uru Wolverine, fear itself spiderman, Destroyer Iron man, Hawkeye, iron fist and The thing/angrir
After all these years, i feel like the old marvel legends venom from absorbing man wave still holds up as a good contender. Plus it doesnt have the wobbly legs. My second favorite venom would be knull venom, but the feet joint and legs were not strong enough to prevent toppling of its top body, so i sold it. Overall, this was an "ok" improvement to the old venom, is what i'm trying to say. Not at all that impressive, unlike the carnage figure evolutions
A warning the figure can still scuff at the lower portion of the spider sadly. It happens over time. Btw my favorite head to use on this one is the knull pack head with the tongue out
This would have been the definitve Venom figure if it had pinless joints, with a better more iconic tounge head as well as eddie head, and tendril accessories. Maybe hasbro will rerelease this updated in the future like Symbiote Spiderman
Double neck ball joint or ball and hinge. He needs more range of motion for the head. Looks good. So many Venoms. I must have 20 by now. I really hope the new film is fun. You reading the Venom comics? Marvel Unlimited has replaced my physical comic buying. I was resistant at first but came around. I want more symbiotes which aren’t Venom. Please an updated Agent Venom. Hybrid would be cool. Misery has a wild look. I’d still like symbiotic looks for Wolverine or Iron Man to go with the Cap. I like the symbiotes. They make interesting figures if they go for it with the sculpts and accessories.
Please don’t listen to Rocco. out of all the people that hate on a figure you should not at all listen to Rocco. there are better people that give out way better points of why a figure could be “bad” than Rocco does. He’s pretty biased when it comes to different kind of things.
Rocco’s points on the Venom were pretty fair though. For the $25-$30 price point you get an almost entirely reused figure with minimal paint, one additional pair of hands and an extra head sculpt that doesn’t fit with the era it’s based on. The head choice isn’t retro, and you could’ve included the transforming head from the 3 pack instead. It’s nearly completely recycled, doesn’t have toe articulation or the better neck joints, and doesn’t have any additional accessories. It’s just not that great. It’s praised because it’s Venom.
the gummy joints and not being pinless is a little disappointing. I was looking to get this to replace the cell shaded animated Venom because mine has gummy joints. But I think I'll wait for the eventual next Venom with minor updates.
Got mine from Walmart in a box. The box had 3 air bubbles (not great) but arrived undamaged. Wonder what makes them ship in different packages? It would be nice if they gave you a preference even if the box cost more to ship. Like to keep mine mint in package.
The Venom logo was sticky on mine as well. Probably has something to do with how they applied it to prevent flaking off like on the last one ( 3 pack version)
I HOPE Dwight watches this. WE really hate the Dumbell neck joint! Its a venom figure why would they use that kind of neck joint. Jesus its already 2024😢🎉
I want to like it, but it's a Frankenstein figure. Too much recycle body parts. We need a new body sculpt for Venom. Make it a deluxe version with 3 heads, neck articulation, better waist articulation instead of the same old cut and some decent accessories.
I like this figure but with that “mcfarlane” style head it just looks off the body looks to big to me. My favorite marvel legends venom will remain the knull two pack with the select head and feet.
