So after the removal of Vander and Grayson, war with Piltover was only a matter of time? How much time? We go through a 6-7 year time skip during which no war ensued. Seems as though war was not as inevitable as it might have seemed. As for Hextech, I don't think Heimerdinger accepted it because of its potential; as Mel astutely states he already understood its potential, and was frightened by it. I'd say that Heimerdinger realized that after Jayce and Viktor succeeded in harnessing the power of the crystals, that there was simply no putting that genie back in the proverbial bottle. At that point, the only thing that could be done was to try and carefully manage its further development. Which I'd say he did quite admirably, by steering all Hextech development for the next 5 years into the creation of the Hexgates. Making "portable" devices that could be easily weaponized and proliferated into the hands of "malefactors", as Mel put it, was never going to be something Heimerdinger would approve of, not without foolproof safeguards that guaranteed exclusively non-violent uses. Hence, I don't think it is accurate to say that Heimerdinger changed his attitude towards Hextech after Jayce and Vicktor succeeded with it. Rather, he adopted the most pragmatic attitude anyone could in those circumstances, all while still having grave misgivings about the whole thing.

Thanks for the comment! I agree; Heimerdinger was doing some damage control in the time skip, wishing to avoid repeating the historical disaster he witnessed. As for the war, it felt inevitable at the time, and Silco WAS building an army. However, judging by his willingness to deal with Jayce, it's possible that Silco was merely building an army to intimidate the council to accept his terms, though I wonder if his followers would be content for long, I think many of them want Piltovet to pay, and convincing them NOT to fight can prove difficult even for him. That's all hypothetical, of course, but I'm not certain a treaty would have actually prevented further conflict.

Powder kind of dismantled Silco's "Do anything to achieve it" worldview, Silco could not understand Why Vander gave up the cause for a Free Zaun because beside the fact Vander betrayed Silco, Silco had no one. Vander gave up his dreams because of two orphaned girls. Silco's undoing was similar to Vander after Powder entered his life. He saw her go through what he did,but with one exception, after Vander left there was no one to tell him it's ok. Silco ended up embracing Powder and doing something he thought he needed when he was abandoned by a sibling. Silco did try to help Jinx but he could only help her through the facets of how he overcame betrayal, Silco's lessons were probably not going to have the same effect on Jinx. The coming full circle moments for Silco was when he was given everything he & Vander ever wanted, he just had to give up his daughter. Instead his eyes waver and tried to do what Vander did with Vi. Silco offered himself up to keep Jinx safe,Jayce was not having that though. At Vander's statue, Silco finally understood his brother and why he did what he did. Easy to say "do anything to achieve power when you have no one you care about but the mission. But Powder changed all that. Silco was prettified of losing Jinx, That was the real threat Vi posed to Silco. Vi was the only one who could take his daughter away from him, leaving him alone. In the end Silco became his brother.

I think it's not so much progress, as just change that causes issues. Great vid!!

Thanks! Don't you think that change was the result of progress in this instance? I think Hextech and shimmer were powerful catalysts for it

@@BeyondTheScreenRPG Yeah, but I think one of the more pointed lines in the finale "You changed too" has more to do with any sort of change than just technological progress
      Congrats on the #1 vid!

Certainly, that is part of the brilliant character development and story design.
