I mean the original bugs in HD1 did look more crustacean like anyways. It’s just recently they experimented to see how much element 710 they could make and how they can mutate so quickly. I wouldn’t doubt there is some farm near super earth where they farm the HD1 original bugs and sell them as meat for the citizens. And it would be basically like crab or lobster. Probably cheaper to some meats as well.

It does seem like a fun idea but that does seem kind of unfair, since the melee weapons are behind a paywall. Which would lead to people not being able to fill that melee weapon slot. This could be fixed by releasing a free melee weapon though
@ well there is still room for the sword, e tool (the shovel you can find) and a combat knife. And also future collaborations that can bring new free promotional melee weapons. I would like to see lost planet 1 & 2 weapons in here. Or even gears of war type stuff in here.

Idea: Booster called drill tipped pods or something. Makes it so that on deployment of a Helldiver it makes a foxhole deep enough to provide cover, and shallow enough to climb out of. Would give cover as you respawn and are at your most vulnerable.

Grenades having a melee attack would be sweet. Impacts would explode and thermals are a little club. Not to mention throwing knife stabs. Maybe regular grenades would explode after 5 smacks or something.
Shovel must remove dirt faster but yeah, it's a cool thing. Wanna have AA turret that only works against shriekers? Just dig a hole and gatling sentry in! Boom

@ Well just as long as they don't bring the bugs that came from the pesticide planets, it should be fine. But then again they did mutate faster.
Flamedivers have been cooking them for a while. Extra crispy and tastes really nice when seasoned.

Love the idea where it’s a laser that goes in a pattern. And can be used both as utility and weapon.
Could work better as an eagle that drops bombs in a straight line that dig a trench for helldivers to hide in
