    I'm really surprised Orange discontinued this amp. The mosfets sound great and better than the class D Little Bass Thing. The compression is the main reason to purchase this amp IMO. It adds so much to the sound and sounds so good.

    This had to be one of the best bass heads out there. Not sure why it was discontinued :-(

    Great review. Really appealing tone shaping abilities for rock and metal tones, in a world of class D amps.

    What live scenarios would you NOT use this amp?

      Good question. Possibly super-clean R&B style bass lines wouldn’t work well with the preamp here- but I’m struggling to think of anything else

    Hey sir my I ask you your story about how you learned to play, did you take lessons or music lessons or both? And how long you did, and how long you have been playing for, thank you very much.

      Hey! I was self taught to begin with, then had a few lessons after a couple of years to correct flaws in technique. From 15 years old I was deep into learning music theory, which really helped me understand how to work in a band context. I’ve now been playing 18 years (I’m 32) and still play shows at least once a week

    Great amp! Shame it doesn't have an effects loop though.

      @adamsteelproducer  4 года назад +1

      It’s fairly clean, what do you need an effect loop for unless it’s to run after drive? Also the compressions fairly light

      @@adamsteelproducer just if you want to run delay, etc. I don't use lots of effects and not often but things like that need to go post preamp.

      @@Crabfather you don't *need* to put it into the FX loop. Gilmour didn't have a loop in the old days, and that worked just fine.

    Blah blah blah, less talk more play.

      Nope. If I can’t explain the reasons why you should buy or not buy a piece of equipment, there’s no point in a review- it’s just soundbites which give you very little insight
