Yeah, it’s often surprising when a celebrity who played someone scary is so nice, isn’t it? Take Bill Skarsgård in “IT”, for example. Guy would often apologize to his younger co-stars between takes.

Why is that funny? This was before videotape was everywhere. Theaters would bring back movies after their initial release as double features, or just rerun them.
"Halloween" came out in 1978 and it was re-released in theaters in October of 1979.
"Star Wars" ran for about 2 years straight. Totally different era.

    • @darkstar6909

It made the rounds later in 1980 when AVCO re-released it as a double feature with The Fog. There is actually a trailer on RUclips that features both movies.

This is one of those films that I wish I could watch for the first time again. It’s super creepy and keeps you on the edge of your seat, making you wonder what the heck is happening as you watch it for the first time. It may not be as iconic as ‘Alien,’ ‘The Exorcist,’ or ‘Carrie’ and other 70s horror films, but I enjoy it just as much as those classics.

I think this movie, like others that had a modest budget, will always stand the test of time. They didn’t have expensive effects money so they literally used mirrors and fishing string to make these awesome things happen. But most importantly, in order to make up for a movie without massive studio settings or fancier equipment, they had to rely on a good story, good characters, a timeless villain and of course.. a classic, scary, unforgettable theme song.

This would be the perfect movie to remake with today's technology! Scary as hell in 1979, imagine what a good production company could do. Not Disney!

I remember watching this and thinking that it made little sense.
Why didn't these guys just call the cops?
And no family of the deceased ever thought that there was anything strange going on at this place in its entire existence?

The scene where Tallman walks slowly was scary. Others were gag movies.
