- Hey you guys! I’m back with a new video. This time its not about a DIY, but a How-to on propagation! I thought this paired really well with my previous video, propagation planters. I hope you enjoy learning a little about how to propagate my FAVORITE plant at the moment, a PRAYER PLANT!
Its scientific name is Maranta leuconeura, she has several variations. The one I have in my thumbnail is the ‘Red Maranta Plant’ and the one I actually propagate in the video is a ‘Lemon-Lime Maranta Plant’. Seriously such a beautiful plant. It makes me so happy to see the little roots g r o w!
Drop your FAV plant you have in the comments! Make sure to like and subscribe to my channel so I know what content you guys like the most, so I can continue sharing with you all!
Enjoy!

Thank you that was very concise and helpful!
Marantas are really cool plants. This one here is like the healthiest and full one I've seen. Spectacular! Thanks for the info👍
Thank you so much! I’ve been trying to find a simple and thorough video and you’ve been amazing! Your calathea is so gorgeous and I’m hoping I can save my baby clippings!
That is so sweet of you! I’m so glad it was helpful, the prayer plant is my favorite! Best of luck with your clippings!
This video is perfect thank you. My favorite baby Charlotte is a Red Prayer Plant. And thanks to your clear and simple instructions she will be propagated properly today!
How exciting! Propagation is so much fun 🙌🏻
Great video!!!
Thank you so much!
Thank you.
Thank you for giving me lite
Hey girl, can you use honey as a rooting hormone?
I love your channel. Do you change out your water or just add water when it gets low?
Cindra Rodrigues Thank you so much! I do change out the water every week or so. I’ve found when you are propagating and the end goal is to eventually add the cuttings to soil, they root so much faster when you have fresh water every week or two!
I have an entire propagation wall, that water I will top off and then when I feel like it I’ll change out the water completely. But those ones I plan on keeping in water 🥰
Thanks for keeping this simple. I’m scared 🥹
What do you water her withI was told not tap water.
I use tap water 😅
Hi I am nisha from India, first time purchase a calathea plant, so please can you tell me the perfect potting soil mix for this plant.
I use a cacti soil and I have mine in a terra-cotta pot!
You’re so hilarious
when yours has 80 leaves and mine has 3 with no new grwoth ............what do id o
Marantas are fairly forgiving. They are a bright indirect sunlight plant that is able to go a good while between watering. I’m not sure your situation, but as long as you’re not overwatering it and it’s in a well lighted space it should be producing some leaves for you.
@@justawoodworkher ah yeah one leaf went brown and dumped off , ive had the plant 3 months and no new leafs
@@justawoodworkher i have about 12 leafs and 3 flowering points , but the whole things leaning and not upright or anything ..
@@molliehelena174 send me a photo over on my Instagram @itscolleeng_thediyer
Prayer plants are trailing plants, so they will lean and trail 🌱
@@justawoodworkher ah okay , was just was concerned as its just beeing held up by 1 stem and im scared if that breaks then its all over , ill send you a photo tomorrow , im on my laptop at the moment so ill send you a message on @molliehelena tomorrow , thanks !!!1
You don't need to find a node, just a leaf and a bit of stem is fine for this plant. No rooting hormone needed either.
Too much show n very boring video. Big dislike 👎🏻
