What a great description, I really like your videos Flo! You are very talented at explaining perfumes, which is something so few people can do anyway. If I may make a small suggestion.. when editing your videos, you could try to add a little bit of music, something that your can turn very low in volume in the video editing app.. it doesn’t sound like much, but it could enhance your videos and get them noticed even more. I really think you have something very unique about you, so I hope your channel will grow very fast! Looking forward to your next ones :)

I have not tried the more recent iteration in the square bottle that you reviewed. I also have not smelled the original 2002 release. But I have smelled the 2008 reformulation, which, to the chagrin of many, was apparently weakened and toned down considerably. But I thought the 2008 was rather nice. Have you tried the 2008 version, and if so, what are your thoughts?

the review for M7 EDT was bad. didn't help much.
Shocking how she doesn't even know that it is Oud Absolu.
Original M7 comes in a slim rectangular dark red bottle with a silver square spray button that's offset to one side.
This is a version of Oud Absolu that was released without the name, .ie it doesn't have oud Absolu written on the bottle, so some people mistake it as rebottled/rebranded Original M7.
Original M7 and M7 fresh DO NOT AND HAVE NOT EVER BEEN RESLESED IN THIS BOTTLE.
It has also been discontinued for around 15 years so the very fact she said she can get it in a shop in South Africa should tell you its not Original M7.
P.s I have a bottle like this also with just M7 written on it and it's not the same as Original M7 100%.
That is interesting. Do you have a reliable source / link to share with me clarifying this point? Because here I can get both M7 and M7 oud absolue in the same square bottle from reputable dealers. There are variations in the presentation... The Oud absolue version seems to have a black bottle OR a clear bottle , but the words "OUD ABSOLUE' are always present on the bottle. The one I present in my video is a reformulation, as I said, and does not smell exactly the same as the original that came in the dark amber bottle. As you know, reformulations are a modified iteration of an original fragrance, so are made to smell different. There is a lot of literature online discussing the reformulation. But I would be happy to consider any valid contradicting sources...so please share!
@@flosnose7617 @Flo's Nose M7 IS GONE OFF THE MARKET OVER 10 YEARS AGO(reformulation or otherwise)!! . I am an M7 connoisseur and it is my signature for the past 20 years, if you want it now you can only get new old stock from ebay sellers at roughly €300 per 100ml.
They released 3 iterations of the newer M7 Oud Absolu the first in roughly 2012 came in the square bottle with black rubber adorning the bottle, next came the clear square bottle with no rubber, and the final newest iteration is the clear square bottle with just M7 written on it. All 3 are The EXACT same formulation of M7 oud Absolu just rebranded/rebottled.
None of these are the same formulation or a reformulation of the original M7 released in 2002.
What you have in that bottle IS NOT A REFORMULATION OF M7 it is M7 oud Absolu but they have just dropped the oud Absolu and call it M7 now in the newest branding of the bottle.
I have all 6 bottles in my possession, Original M7 coloured Amber bottle, Original M7 painted clear bottle, M7 fresh, and the 3 square oud Absolu bottles the last of which is just rebranded to M7 now and all 3 smell the EXACT SAME.
If you really REALLY want me to then I can email YSL for clarity, if they are good enough to give me a reply. That being said I promise you what you're smelling is Oud Absolu.
