Scoring is different now so a lot dont understand why takedowns dont matter if there is no damage being done. Petr didnt do anything with the takedowns and why he lost.

Jamacan didnt do anything to win. Couple unsucsessful attemts on the ground, that was it. Yan was aggressive whole fight, landing more punches and avoided every submission. What did Jamakan do ? Unsucsessfull attempts should not be scored, but when it comes to Russian fighters, it is not always fair young is a good example. I am Ukranian, by the way
That O'Malley robbery was insane... Yan NEEDS to start finishing his opponents, otherwise his career is over. He's Russian, so he shouldn't expect judges to side with him. But his style is based on amateur boxing, so he's not that much of a finisher, and neither is he a huge submission guy. So I don't even know... unfortunately, he may very well contimue getting Ls.
Too bad Petr Yan didn't opt for boxing. I think he would be a world champion. His boxing is the strongest skill he has. He did learn to kick well and his grappling is not used at all except when he's a canvas. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my boxing opinion.
