Like most other agencies, officers take home cars, and each officer gets issued a car with optional two-man rides. This, along with hiring laterals without going through all the steps, would curb the shortage within a year.
It would be great if certain donors could lend a financial hand to certain departments so as not to put more of the burden on the Poorer and the people who have nothing
Can the city of Houston build another academy facility/building to have more classes to bring more officers through training?
I’m wondering if they have any endowments and if the foundation are supporting the law enforcement side at all?
What about federal and state grants to support salaries and equipment?

There is a car shortage. There's barely enough cars for officers on-duty to patrol, let alone take them home.
What about take home vehicles? That'd get you hires.
No money for take home vehicles they actually have a shortage on patrol.
