    . This is the figure we thought we had in 80s. Now 40 years later we finally get a cartoon accurate heman figure. Likeness is still little off. I’d say it’s 75% there .

    • @Themanchlid
      @Themanchlid  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, I agree! I remember getting the vintage He-man as a kid and watching the filmation cartoon. I loved them both. But I couldn't understand why my He-man figure didn't look like the filmation He-man that we got used to because of the design and seeing that character come to life in the cartoon then. But I think this is as good as it gets with a filmation style. Origins cartoon He-man figure. The next best thing would be the filmation Classics one. But that figure is doing something different.

    • @Themanchlid
      @Themanchlid  10 месяцев назад

      The legs and body is a newer style or design they are trying for the Filmation figures now. I think in hand the Head looks better than the Mattel Creations Filmation He-man. It's not perfect. It's more a Filmation look that fits the Origins asthetics. The Super7 Filmation He-man is more Cartoon accurate and realistic to that animation for figures.

    Great review! I enjoyed watching all the different part swapping. I’ll be honest, I may just cherry pick this line and keep them carded as they look awesome that way, but I am a vintage toy designs guy and will always prefer those designs over the simplified Filmation style.

      Thanks for watching the reviews as always! Yeah I always try to mix and mash some parts between the figures that might be of interest to the customizers and yet keep the video as short as I can. Some of those part swapping videos can be over an hour long to try out every idea available. I'm also more for the vintage inspired Origins first. But I don't mind seeing the filmation figures and other cross over figures added to the line. I really like the looks and design of these figures. Great review. Really looking forward to these filmation figures. I don't understand why the makers of action figures continue to use horizontal wrist hinges. There is so much more you can do with vertical hinges on gripping hands. The only hands that should have horizontal are fists. I don't get it. I wish they would flip the frequency and make horizontal hinges the lesser used type.

    • @Themanchlid
      @Themanchlid  10 месяцев назад

      Thanks for watching the review! Yeah I'm surprised the Origins doesn't have any Vertical Hinges in the hands or at least a hand for He-man with the power sword. Certain Masterverse He-man figures do. You might be able to find those loose on ebay. The Masterverse Hands fut the Origins and don't look bad depending on the He-man and skin tones.

    • @Rocket1377
      @Rocket1377 10 месяцев назад

      Agreed. Human anatomy doesn't work that way either, as when humans wrists turn, the entire forearm turns with it. Hopefully, toy makers will someday come to the realisation that up-down movement is both more useful and more realistic.

    That was a LOT of effort making all the comparison swaps so that we don't have to, thank you! Don't like the hot-cross-buns on the quadriceps which is so frustrating because Mattel shouldn't really anatomy-fail at this point, but interesting how they streamlined the pectorals and lats to make accessories from older lines forward-compatible instead.

      Thanks for taking the time to check out the review and sharing your feedback! Yeah, my channel is kind of known for the on the spot. Mixing and mashing certain parts between figures that might be of interest for customs. It definitely takes a lot of work and editing to do that. I don't always enjoy doing that with all those figures. But a lot of viewers do. I'm not sure why Mattel wanted to change the anatomy a bit. I kind of feel like they were trying to mix something between the Origins' original design and Classics, but much smaller with The Origins articulation to make the figure appear a little bigger. It's different, I guess, but still mixes well with the Origins original parts and accessories as I showed a bit.

    Still catching up on a bunch of videos, but I’ve been waiting to see how these Cartoon figures look in hand. I agree that they’re about as close as you can get. I mean, to me there’s no mistaking that this is a He-Man in the Filmation style! And it does look better than the version that came with the 40th Anniversary 4-pack. The only real criticism I would have is that the hand doesn’t have that vertical hinge to hold the sword aloft to emulate the original 80s pose. I remember that the Club Grayskull sub-line of Classics tried their best to make that a reality. Also, I sort of expected that the mini-comics would go more for that Filmation style as well. Perhaps there were some legalities that prevented that.
    All in all, I like what I’m seeing so far. It’s unfortunate that I’m just so far behind on Origins in general that at this point, I’d need to come in to a great amount of money that I can afford to spend in order to catch up (Wave 8 was my most recent). I’ve been able to get all of the Mattel Creations exclusives (except for that Skeletor x VeeFriends 2-pack thing which I also passed on). Lately, it feels like many of us may have to just pick and choose what we want, there’s just so much. I never thought I’d say that there’s almost too much MotU out there right now! That Turtles of Grayskull line is coming, and as goofy as some of those figures look, I’m kind of a sucker for mashup crossovers. I was a huge MotU fan, and my wife was a huge TMNT fan, so trying to get those figures to share with our kid is practically a no-brainer!

    • @Themanchlid
      @Themanchlid  9 месяцев назад

      Thanks for also taking the time to check out these Filmation inspired Origins videos. As I mentioned, I wasn't sure if I was gonna pick up these. I want the vintage inspired Origins figures finished up first. But Mattel is going in different directions or at least mixing and mashing all kinds of stuff like the Turtles of Greyskull coming. To be honest, I will probably pick those up, too. I grew up with the Ninga Turtles and always liked that concept. But what's funny is I don't have a single Ninga Turtle related figure in all my collection. So what better time to get a few is with the Origins Cross over! I'm all for it! But the expense with all the Motu figures is tough, as you mentioned! I, too, think there is too much MOTU out too fast now! I didn't pick up the Skeletor two pack from Mattel Creations. I'm gonna wait for the single card release, Skeletor. Going back to the Filmation He-man. I think the look and design are as good as they're gonna get for an Origins figure. The colors are off from the filmation. But again, it's Origins! Not the Club Greyskull Classics. This line is trying to be simpler, and it's definitely pushing details for certain figures like this He-man. I think he came out great!👍

    • @Themanchlid
      @Themanchlid  10 месяцев назад +1

      The Squatting pose in the Legs goes back to the vintage figures and barbarian artistic concepts. It's mainly about the Nastalgia and making those figures look bulky and heavy like big hunched muscles guys. At least the Origins has knee articulation now and the knees can be posed to appear a little more upright than the vintage figures. The Super7 filmation or classics are better for more accurate Leg asthetics and body looks. The Origins are doing something a little different and staying more to the 80s Nastalgia but with some newer designs and better articulation. Thanks for watching as always 👍

      @@Themanchlid I haven't seen anybody ask for cartoon figures. All I've seen are people wanting vintage style Two-Bad, Stonedar, Rokkon & Sy-Klone. Pretty much everybody wants to finish the vintage line that we've been collecting for the past 3 years. This Cartoon Collection came out of left field. Why start a whole new collection before the first one is complete??? It makes no sense. And most of us do not want to deal with MattelCreations and their immediate sell outs.
      I already see some people complaining about starting a whole new collection from scratch. A lot of us don't want to buy the same characters all over again. I sure as hell ain't collecting the cartoon shits. The vintage collection has been a nightmare to collect over the past 3 years. Why would any sane person want to start from scratch & go through that all over again? We only have around 4 more waves of the vintage collection to finish it up. This just doesn't make any sense.

      @sci-fi.tsunami I read and responded to most comments. Or joined other live streams and read comments about figures people wanted in the Masterverse or Origins line. Both Vintage Inspired and filmation come up often when figure speculation or wants are being discussed. I also mentioned that I want Mattel to finish the vintage inspired line first as many other people want as well. But again, there are people who want different things or filmation figures. I have had these discussions with people. Why Mattel is taking their time finishing that vintage lineup is only a guess in my mind or what I think. But you would have to send them an email and maybe get a response back about your questions.

      I don’t think people really care about the origins anymore since 95% of the figures are made already. And everyone seems to be really liking these new filmation figures more than the origins. You, my friend are the last of a dying breed. I suggest you get with the times. filmation and new eternia is the future.
