This era under Slot will be so good for Liverpool. Im a PSV fan and have been jealous of both Feyenoord and AZ Alkmaar because they had Arne Slot. Even though we won the championship this year, I'd still swap managers without a doubt. The man is so charismatic, thoughtful and plays amazing tactical football. Congratulations Liverpool, you won.

I thought Slot looked relaxed and happy. While we will never forget Jurgen, we have to let him go, being an old fart now, I remember the devastation I felt when Shanks retired. Bob Paisley took over and we went up a level, I hope history will repeat it self.
Yeah Klopp regenerated the squad like Shankly did and now it's Slot's job to continue where Klopp left off and get the most out of the squad like Paisley did.
I think he came across really well. Composed, focused, confident, charismatic. I love that the very first thing he said was "I feel energised."
I love Jurgen and will always be grateful to him but lets not forget he had a few transitional seasons, we need to get behind Slot and make sure he feels supported straight away which will take the pressure off him just a little and help him feel he can get in and do his thing.
Slot needs to earn support. I never wanted him.

Because rolling an R can be quite difficult for a native English speaker as it's not part of our language. Not something we are used to doing.

I wonder the same thing too. Most people can correctly say "John Ah-nuh Ree-zer" but then completely mess it up by then saying "Ah-nee" or "Ah-nay" Slot

4:27 The BBC has been pretty popular in the Netherlands, and they are the only country in continental Europe that are decent at Cricket. I'd say we share just as much culture with the Netherlands as we do with Germany if not more. Although Germany is a bigger country so they probably influence us a bit more.
I’d say that I notice the differences between both. Temperament wise I think I see more in Germans but lifestyle wise I get the Netherlands similarities.
It could be good to see a video covering all 11 positions and which of the current squad can play in them to see our depth and emerging talent, it might also grant greater insight into where the club might see need to improve through transfers.

Do you not pronounce it the same way as the Arne in Riise’s name?
An easy prediction is that we'll more likely have less injuries over time with Slot. Our high level of injuries under Klopp never got blamed on his heavy style. Jurgen always made excuses for so many players being out. It seemed like he made most everyone believe it was all just bad luck. I think there was more to it and this never got said. Jurgen's heavy style which did change but retained over-the-top intensity may bear partial responsibility for a thinner bench than we would have liked and which did affect outcomes and increased our losses on the pitch. Slot seems less intense or should I say his style lends itself to knowing when, where and how to expend and conserve energy in different situations as well as incorporating spatial (less intense) tactics balanced with possession/counter (more intense) play. I am excited to see what he will do with the silver platter of embarrassing riches that Klopp has given him.
The pronunciation of Arne was fine throughout most of the video, if you want to get it exactly right: 'Ar-nuh' is how most people say it in the Netherlands, not really necessary to roll the r that much/at all. Also Rotterdam fits exactly into that list of Marseille, Naples, Liverpool etc. like u said. If you love Liverpool I'm sure you'd love Rotterdam/Feyenoord as well.
I really enjoyed this video and almost philosophical approach to considering how Slot will fit into Liverpool and the considered and calm approach.
The king is dead long live the king. I was gutted Klopp decided to leave but it wasn't going to last forever.
It's sad but what he has done will have a lasting impact beyond his tenure so we should be happy for that

The big question is what does he do with Salah. Pretty sure he's on his last year now so do we cash in on him / offer him a new contract or let him leave.
I'm on the side of cashing in on him in the summer and then bring in someone younger who has the energy Slot will need. Obviously we all know what Salah can do on his day, it's just he had a disappointing end to the season

His interview was pretty sterile as they were pre-arranged questions. It'll be great to see the first actual press conference. A lot more of a human affair.
Pre arranged questions maybe but his replies didn't sound stilted or rehearsed, to suggest he didn't show his human side because he wasn't being bombarded by inane questions from the media is ridiculous

All I said was that his replies were to questions that he was already aware of and that I look forward to his replies to questions without a brief beforehand. That includes HOW he deals with inanities as well as decent questions.

Not for me. Too young, too injury prone to play 50+ games and potentially not his best position anyway. CDM is the obvious position we could do with spending significant money on this summer I would suggest.

Have my reservations. I like him but people talk about him like he is a guaranteed baller. He came in and was our best midfielder for like 10 games in a midfield where everyone else played horribly. I don't even think he is a true 6.

These things take time to fully click so as long as we see the end goal and progress towards it most fans will be behind him but I get what you're saying we still have a very good squad overall especially compared to what Klopp inherited
@@nonnayoubuzinnes1669 Top 4, a decent run in the CL ad improvements in the performance of players like Nunez and Szoboslai would be a very good first season for Arne.
@@SW-by9ob He said he wants to finish higher than top 3 next season so he needs to get at least that. There's a problem if anyone other than Arsenal and MC finish above us. The CL we have Anfield which is always a big help so he should be looking to progress well in that as well.
