What a display of precision and grace! The music of this girls and boys just set the bar much higher for the brass bands around the world to catch with. The true model of Japanese precision.
The history of this band is not well known in the UK. I remember being in a marching band when I was about 13 for just over 3 yrs we used to cover long distances and we were all knackered at the end of it, but we were just marching and playing music. How these boys and girls incorporate great musicianship with dance and keep going over the distances they do, they must be one of the fittest marching bands in the world. It would be lovely to see them do a world tour, I think they would get a great reception wherever they played and any country proud to host these talented people. Long may they reign as supreme as they are.
When they March in the Rose Parade in California, that is 2 hours at 9.5 kilometers! In the heat! Let me tell you they are dancing all the way! I don’t know how they do it!
On New Year's Day 2018, Southern California was privileged to host Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School (and perhaps several alumni) in the 100+ year-old Tournament of Roses parade, just under 6 miles long. This is arguably the granddaddy of New Year celebrations, featuring extravagantly flowered floats, equestrian units; college, military & composite marching bands of distinction. This band not only sounded better than the others, but endured with energy, playing and dancing through the terminus of the parade route. They appeared on Main Street in Disneyland (about 40 minutes from Pasadena) during the balance of their stay in California -hopefully receiving some assistance with their travel & lodging expenses. ·

Yakuta Kaneshiro tiene mucho trabajo si piensa repetir el éxito de Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band en el Desfile de las Rosas de 2018. El sr. Kaneshiro es, sin lugar a dudas, un buen maestro, pero se necesita más que eso para hacer brillar a la mejor banda del mundo y él carece de esa genialidad... Tachibana ha conseguido medallas de oro pero por apegarse al reglamento y estándares de los concursos de marcha... Repito, les falta muchísimo trabajo y cambiar de rumbo en cuanto a su repertorio musical y coreografias...

I'm so glad the Kyoto Tachibana High School band is back to wearing white socks. The white socks represent the petals of the Tachibana blossom, which is the school's namesake. The white socks are also a symbol of the band's unity and dedication. Tachibana is a type of Mandarin tree that has a lot of importance and status in Japanese society. The blossom is a symbol of purity, hope, and new beginnings. The pale orange of the main uniform matches the orange of the Tachibana fruit. The band is nicknamed, after all, the "Orange Devils" because of their trademark orange uniform. So, the uniform is closely linked to nature. The late Professor Hisashi Hiramatsu, who founded the band in 1961, wanted the band to express their femininity (before they became coed, unfortunately) through their uniforms. He didn't want them to look like a military-style marching band. So, he chose soft, vibrant colors that were inspired by the Tachibana blossom. I think the white socks are a great way to honor the school's history and traditions. They also look really sharp in the pale orange uniform.

It is so expensive to transport a group of this size to and from events such as parades. plus they use these parades to help defray their transportation and other expensives that allow them to attend competitions, special events etc.. It is a self-sustaining method for all bands to allow them to travel and comp[ete. Of course this is very true in USA.

Don't blame the teacher! One of the parade marshals was urging them to run. Quite ridiculous, especially in the heat. Yet the percussionists continued playing even as they ran!
@@martinclark7935 Seems that the parade was not well organized. The marshals should maintain a longer distance between subsequent bands, to prevent sound disturbance among them.

動画アップ、有り難うございます。当日、現場にいましたが、足を痛めていたので隊列について行くとこを諦めてゴール近くで定点視聴となりました。久しぶりの野外のパレードとなったせいか、運営側の進行ミスが目立ちますね。スタートして五分ほどはまあまあですが、
あとはその場しのぎの渋滞やら、急ぎ足などボロが露呈してます。ゴール近くで走り抜けるオレンジの一団をあっけにとられて見送る群衆のひとりとして、私もいました。
秋篠宮ご一家がテントの中でパレードを見ていたのですが退席されるときにパレードをとめたのかもしれません。

台湾に招かれて素敵な演奏をしていたのが評価されたのかな？
京都橘高校さんの練習の賜物だと僕は思います。
日本では衣装の露出が高い等、女子校生のふとももが見たい、なんて事を言う人も居ます。2012年のロ−ズパレードでは、レディ・ガガさんのバットロマンスを演奏していました
凄い!としか言えません。
2025年のロ−ズパレードは、OG．ＯＢも参加し演奏してほしいと僕は、
思っています。

2025年のROSEパレードには今回の台湾遠征の立役者119.120期コロナ禍で発表の場の少なかった117.118期もOB.OGとして参加して新たな京都橘伝説を作ってくれればと私も思ってます(^-^)ノ
ちなみにバナーの生徒さん達１年生がROSEでは３年になっててどんな風に成長しているか楽しみです😃日本では創立当時からの伝統あるユニフォームを云々ありますが京都のあの素晴らしいパフォーマンス、綺麗な音色、人々を幸せにする笑顔
逆にどうしてそういう気持ち、見方になるのか私はわかりません

いつもの熱演に比べなんともおしとやかというか寂しいギャラリー。
国民性とはいえこれではメンバーの熱演が空回りしそう。
これではこのバンドの先行きが思いやられます。

この日は日曜日?ですよね?東京の平日は車が多すぎて規制出来ないと思います。観衆が静かなのは好みによるかも?でも応援の声が少ないことはいかにも日本的パレードですよね。

ごめん、一意見として正直な感想言うのが、最終的に彼女彼らにとって良い事だと思うから言葉にするね。正直下手になった？、特にペットの音が目立つから言うけど浮いとるし外れてるしで、とても残念な気持ちになった。振り付けより先にやる事あるんじゃないの？高校生が頑張っているところケチつけるようで心苦しいけど、先輩たちが作り上げてきた名前だけど勝負するような事は残念すぎるの書かしてもらったわ。大変だろうけど頑張ってなー
コロナで練習できないこともあったでしょう。自宅では練習できることにも限りあるでしょうし。今の学生たちがどういう状態でコロナ禍を過ごしたのかを考えてみましょう。
また見られて嬉しい。それだけで満足。

先頭を歩く先生が歩くのが速いよ。止まったり走ったり、残念すぎる。
Don't blame the teacher! One of the parade marshals was urging them to run. Quite ridiculous, especially in the heat. Yet the percussionists continued playing even as they ran!
@@martinclark7935 Seems that the parade was not well organized. The marshals should maintain a longer distance between subsequent bands, to prevent sound disturbance among them.
大会運営側の問題ですね。出場団体が多くて焦っていたのでしょうがパレードの本質に無知な方の管理計画だったようです。様々な要因で進行にムラが出るのは付き物ですので基準間隔だけ伝えておいて追いついたり離れたりはコーチやDMに権限を与えておくべき。極端に言えばゴール地点で各チームが基準間隔になっていれば良いのです。今回のように常に間隔を守らせようとすると後半には走ったり止ったりが増えて残念なことに。進行管理スタッフの無知な指示で走らされたのが実体に見えます。
皆さんそう運営を責めないであげてください。
運営も高校生がしてるようでしたしね。
大人なら「何やってんだ！ｺﾞﾗｧ～💢😠💢」ってなりますけどねw
主催者、自治体、実務に当たったボランティアの方などの多大な御苦労があったことは容易に想像がつきますのでコロナ下で開催に漕ぎ着けたことはファンの皆さんは感謝されていると思います。しかしいずれ又東京に開催順が回ってくることを考えれば問題点の指摘はしておかなければ成りません。実際今まで大きな問題なく開催されたところも有ります。東京の人流、気象条件など地方都市以上に考慮する必要が有りますが全国から集まった若者達の健康と実力発揮のためもう少し検討が必要だったでしょう。アナウンスや現地の進行管理など高校生ボランティアが活躍していましたが彼等は指示された内容に従っただけでしょう。高校野球でも運営、管理計画を高校生ボランティアが決めることは有りませんので上部組織の計画ミスと言っておきます。
正直ステップのキレや振り付けがなんかぬるくて、あまり感動しない・・・楽しみがあんまりなくてみててハラハラする・・・先生変わらないほうがよかったんじゃないの？利権絡むとほんと嫌
以前指導に当たっていた先生がなくならるたそうです。
指導者の交代もやむを得ません。
これからの彼らの成長を楽しみましょう。
