You all did a fabulous job making these trousers. Ruan, I would add 1/4” to the back crotch. I think that tiny adjustment would make them look more comfortable. However, once you wear them they might stretch enough to be perfect.
Omg...you all did wonderful however, Rachel, that animal print is to die for! I absolutely think it looks so great!! I would also take that 1/2 inch off on the sides. You all knocked it out of the park!! Tilly is so wonderful and her instructions are always so great! Beautiful ladies, nice work!!❤ love all of them 💕
How do you do this exactly? @lorij83 says to add 1/4” to the back crotch and your suggestion is to remove some of the curve? These 2 suggestions seem the exact opposite of each other? I am confused
I am new to the hungry bum term but not to the problem. I always think, "if I only lost weight..." but clearly that is not the entire problem. It is interesting to see other shapes have the same problem. I HATE the feeling that I need to pull at my back pants! In my case, a full thigh adjustment and lengthening/scooping of crotch are both needed. You all did a great job and the zip flies are excellent. Thanks for the comprehensive review! BY THE WAY, I bet the extra length is to compensate for the higher Heels of shoes.
Love all your pairs😍Great fabric choices. Yes maybe there could be little tweaks you could do to perfect your next pairs but the fit of these all look great. I totally agree with patch pockets enhancing a booty more than welts😂
What a great collab! It’s lovely to see different body shapes in the same pattern. You all look fabulous! I think with the minor fitting tweaks you have concluded that you want to make, your next pairs of Theas will be perfect. Tamlyn’s idea for reducing the size of the back patch pocket piece is brilliant. Not only would a 3/8” seam allowance reduce bulk, it should also make the curved bottom of the pockets easier to achieve. Thanks ladies and happy sewing.
Love all of your versions. Ruan, I agree , a very slight hungry bum. I absolutely love the length you made Ruan. I am very tempted to buy the pattern. Thank you all for sharing. X
Hello, I really enjoyed watching this video, always prefer long length trousers and not prints for versatility but was really fun seing one pattern on different bodies, well done !
Love all your trousers. So great to see them on 3 different shaped bodies. Great advice on fitting with the hungry bum and drag lines. Definitely need to make mine now! Have the pattern and the fabric, so no excuse. Thanks ladies ❤
Beautiful, all three! Yes, a little hungry bun going on and Rachel's needs the sides taken in but over all they are fabulous and look fabulous on all three of you!
Your Thea trousers are all lovely. There is a little bit of hungry bum going on but it doesn’t spoil them at all. I nearly bought this pattern at the K&S show but didn’t but now I’m keen to have a go! Maybe for next summer😂Thanks ladies 😘
Alll the pants look amazing, you’ve all done a fantastic job. I agree with your comments about the fit, so just a few tweaks is all you need. You can all wear them with pride 👏👏👏👏
I think you all did a great job, all the trousers looked great. I have never attempted fitted trousers, but I agree with you that Tilly’s instructions are always great, so I may be tempted. ❤
I really enjoyed seeing the different fit on the three of you. My favourite is Rachael’s although I preferred the crop length. I just love animal print.
Thank you so much for doing this vlog, I found it very inspiring. I have been thinking of making them and seeing them of different shapes is very helpful. I love all of you makes xxxx
Thank you. So glad I watched all three as my figure shape takes in bits of all of them. I have the pattern but wasn’t inspired to make them until now. I’m going to have a go and see how I get on. Excellent video. Xxx
Hi Ruan just watched the rest of this vlog and I knew I had seen something about how to fix hungry bum and it is the opposite of what I said. Rachel did a vlog on it a few months ago and it is on this one too. Still think they look lovely though. I have a lovely hate relationship with making trousers. I can't seem to get them right at all. You are all amazing
I’ve recently bought this pattern, but been too scared to try it. After watching this video, you girls have now given me the confidence to give them a go. All of your trousers looked amazing…..well done!
Love all the trousers you’ve made. It’s good to see them done in different fabrics. I have to do a flat bottom adjustment in my trousers as I’m literally missing a nice round bit so always end up with excess fabric which creeps into places it really shouldn’t 🫢. Anyway I only ever change the curve to take out excess fabric and never add in at the sides as it’s just not required for my shape and missing round butt bit. ☺️
Wow you all look fabulous, that’s another pattern I didn’t think I needed that I now have to have. I love that you give your measurements and then what size you made it really helps and what I look for in a pattern review to be honest. All of the fabrics look beautiful on you guys too ❤
Ruan you crack me up sometimes. They look great, but I agree I think you need about half inch extra length in the back. I think that I might need to buy some heavier interfacing. Another idea would be to interface both sides. Tamlyn, thank you for the comment about the pockets, front and back. I wasn't going to put the back pockets on as I never use them, but I might review that decision. I have printed the pattern out and was going to try to join in but I ended up making clothes for my daughter including a fancy pair of trousers. The fly instructions for them was great. I am going to try the top down centre out method of fitting as I haven't had much success with trousers so far. Rachel, they look super, I love them. I am only 5'3, so I had best shorten them.
They all look so good! I made a pair of shorts with the Thea pattern but really want to make a full length pair from some purple drill I have. I had a teeny bit of a hungry bum so sewed the crotch seam with just 1cm SA and that helped. I also had the issue with the fly not being neat and not being able to figure it out until I watched the video. I think maybe they’re missing a line in the instructions about making sure one bit is tucked under the other
Brilliant video girls. Very inspired to have a go myself now. You all look fabulous but very different, which is super helpful to all of us. Bum just a little hungry but very beautiful, Ruan!
They all look so different - the pattern looks very wearable and you must all be very pleased.I hadn't noticed the back issue until you pointed it out Ruann and maybe a little extra would be a better fit but great job everyone. I decided I would never make trousers and you have me thinking hey maybe... they do look a lovely shape and fit on you all.😎❤
Hungry bum pants although Rachel’s adjustment has made such a difference to the bum area, love all three pairs,Tamlyn’s fabric is gorgeous, well done ladies xxx
Hi Tamlyn, I think you look fabulous in your theas, I think you will find it is the cotton twill that is causing the lines, great make. Ruan your theas are beautiful, Personally I think you should lengthen the back seam by quarter of an inch ( you'll be amazed how much difference a small amount makes ) but also take the back seam in about the same, you look lovely. Rachel, last but certainly not least, your theas are amazing in that fabric but yes I totally agree with you about taking some off the hips. You all look fabulous ❤
I wonder about your thoughts regarding the Dawn jeans and Thea trousers. They look to be quite similar - close fitting trhough the waist and hip and flaring out from the thigh. Would you say they are a similar cut?
You all look amazing ladies, hehe Ruan love the "hungry bum" ....lol I think maybe a little. Still look amazing and like you say you feel great then you look great.
Hi Ruan love your Trousers 👖, as to the hungry bum, I think Rachel did a adjustment to a pair of pants. She had to scoop out the back crotch curve, to give the fabric room in the seat. It was a Vlog not to long ago, maybe a pair of light colored shorts. Love watching all you ladies, and what you get up to!😎
Great vlog as always ladies. Tamlyn your Thea’s are amazing they really suit you. Ruan you look gorgeous in that stretchy top and your Thea’s you need to wear more of the close fitting tops. You might benefit from scooping out a little on your bum but it’s how you feel too. Rachel you look fabulous too and thank you for sharing you made a toile I might have to do that because I don’t want to ruin my fabric I saved up for. Wonderful collaboration ❤❤❤
Tamlyn I'm no expert but I watch J Stern Designs You Tube channel and I'm learning about fitting from her. I wonder if you need to extend the back crotch length rather than the front or maybe both? Ruan I think your bum is a bit hungry. Lengthen the back crotch. They look very nicely made though. Rachel I'm like you small waist /large hip but my bum is a bit low and I have large thighs so I struggle to buy trousers. I use the scoop method to lower the crotch and also do it to rtw trousers as I get too much fabric under the bum. I agree about taking in the side seams ,I've had that happen sometimes. Well done girls you all look great. xx
Hi Ruan. If you think you have a hungry bum look, I think it is barely quarter to half an inch. As you think it may be a bit too big on your hips, perhaps you could move a bit of the extra from the hip to the back seam it may make it feel better for you. However I think they are fabulous, as is everything you do.
TBH I think both Ruan and Tamlyn have a bit of an issue with hungry bum which tends to make me thing pattern draft is a bit off in that dept - maybe length of crotch or requirement for full butt adjustments unless one has a very flat butt...
I really had to look for a hungry bum and I guess I think I see that you might like more room. But it looks fine. Listen😊wear them with pride. I sure would.
lol, love the phrase ‘hungry bum’. Yes, I think there may be a wee bit of that happening. However they all look amazing 🎉
It looks like it’s cutting you in half at the bum. I’d add 1/2”-3/4” at the backside
You all did a fabulous job making these trousers. Ruan, I would add 1/4” to the back crotch. I think that tiny adjustment would make them look more comfortable. However, once you wear them they might stretch enough to be perfect.

You all knocked it out of the park!! Tilly is so wonderful and her instructions are always so great! Beautiful ladies, nice work!!❤ love all of them 💕
Everyone looks great! Ruann you may want to scoop out the crotch curve just a smidge on your next pair! But keep wearing them! They look fine! ❤
How do you do this exactly? @lorij83 says to add 1/4” to the back crotch and your suggestion is to remove some of the curve? These 2 suggestions seem the exact opposite of each other? I am confused

All really great! Already shopping for stretch denim leopard Rachel! Agree Ruan, little hungry backside. Thanks gals!
They all look fantastic. I have the pattern but not made them now I can’t wait. Xx
Love them all ladies 👌💖... well done 👏
Wow, all 3 of your Thea’s look great. You all achieved really a good fit. Makes me want to go back & revisit the pattern once again 🤩
Your Thea trousers are all lovely. There is a little bit of hungry bum going on but it doesn’t spoil them at all. I nearly bought this pattern at the K&S show but didn’t but now I’m keen to have a go! Maybe for next summer😂Thanks ladies 😘

I love all of your versions of the pattern, and each choice of fabric is great. I'm going to add them to my plans list now.
All fabulous Thea’s ladies! Thank you so much for asking me to come and be part of this wonderful project x
I think you all did a great job, all the trousers looked great. I have never attempted fitted trousers, but I agree with you that Tilly’s instructions are always great, so I may be tempted. ❤

All turned out great with different personalities and shapes ❤❤❤
They look a perfect fit Tamlyn. I’ve made seven pairs as I got so addicted to them😩.Might not do any more for a while.☺️x.
All 3 of your trousers are fabulous really enjoyed seeing how different they are but all look totally fab ❤
Thank you. So glad I watched all three as my figure shape takes in bits of all of them. I have the pattern but wasn’t inspired to make them until now. I’m going to have a go and see how I get on. Excellent video. Xxx
Lovely makes, really useful feedback from all 3 of you. Gave me confidence to have a go making my own. Thanks ladies.

Love the colour of those trousers, Ruan!
You all look fantastic in your trousers. I think I do need a pair of animal print ones. Must find fabric.🥰
You all look great, loved this collab. Ruan could you do the same as Rachel for the bumm area?
Brilliant video girls. Very inspired to have a go myself now. You all look fabulous but very different, which is super helpful to all of us. Bum just a little hungry but very beautiful, Ruan!
Great job all!

I always trim that pocket seam before putting the pocket on.
Hungry bum pants although Rachel’s adjustment has made such a difference to the bum area, love all three pairs,Tamlyn’s fabric is gorgeous, well done ladies xxx
Love all versions ladies ❤ I must say all bums look great 😂
Perfect fit for a perfect figure Tamlyn 🎉
Good summer trousers Ryan!!!
Love them all but can’t beat a bit of animal print 😊
Hi Tamlyn. Love your trousers.
Good fit Ryan! 😊
You can overdye with denim dye.
Hi Tamlyn, I think you look fabulous in your theas, I think you will find it is the cotton twill that is causing the lines, great make. They’re lovely! maybe a bit peckish rather than hungry
I wonder about your thoughts regarding the Dawn jeans and Thea trousers. They look to be quite similar - close fitting trhough the waist and hip and flaring out from the thigh. Would you say they are a similar cut?
Rachel has made both but she has said they fit very differently. Hope that helps x
You all look amazing ladies, hehe Ruan love the "hungry bum" ....lol I think maybe a little. Still look amazing and like you say you feel great then you look great.
Love the full legs!!!
For the extra bulk in pockets I would just serge that off closer so your topstitching encloses the edges. Easy fix.
Cute Rachel ❤❤❤
❤❤❤

Yep, you've all got a bit if hungry bum going on 😅.
Tamlyn, I think as you wear those pants you won’t need to make an adjustment.
Could you just do a few extra rows to top stitching to sew down the bulk of the seam allowance on the pockets. All three pairs look great. ❤❤❤
Tamlyn I'm no expert but I watch J Stern Designs You Tube channel and I'm learning about fitting from her. I wonder if you need to extend the back crotch length rather than the front or maybe both?

These are amazing!!! Ruan, your bum looks great in them. Very pert 😋
I would add a little to the back crotch length; would that give you the room you need?
xXX👍👍👍

They look great on the bum
Great makes girls, but yes, some adjustment needed for ‘hungry bum’.
🧶🌈🍓💙
Little hungry RUAN. But very gorgeous trousers. Just scoop the back crotch curve a little . ❤
I really had to look for a hungry bum and I guess I think I see that you might like more room. But it looks fine. Listen😊wear them with pride. I sure would.
It looks to me that back rise needs to be lengthened, so they don't ride up your bum.
