I have a hand fed Parakeet, his name is Baby. He is free flight throughout my apartment. He only goes in his cage at night. He is insanely jealous of Peanut, my Cockateil. Whenever I let the Cockateil out of his cage, Baby's head puffs up like a lion. He gets in front of the Cockatiel and bobs and darts like a little boxer. He will also swoop down and attack his back from behind like some kind of hawk. He bites Peanut & my lips HARD if he sees me kiss the Cockatiel. Last night he was all puffed up hanging from Peanut's cage. I pointed my finger at him & told him "NO!" and he attacked my face. Twice. I grabbed him (he was biting me the whole time), and I put him in his cage. That's where he goes from now on when it is Cockateil time. Crazy.
Your babies are like mine. I have a cockatiel and a pineapple 🍍 conure (or so I've been told!), as well as a red eared slider turtle 🐢, all of whom I adore! 😘😘😘

Could it be hormones? He didn't used to do this. I don't want this to become his normal behavior. So bummed! Any suggestions from anyone who knows about birds would be greatly appreciated!
Which bird is on top of the pecking order? Also, I heard that once your bird bonds with another bird it diminishes it's bond with it's person. Has this been true for you?
