- I'm fly fishing a creek in Wyoming and have success using a rig that went against traditional wisdom. The conditions were tough...bright blue bird skies, low, clear water with not much flow and fish everywhere. I started with subtle rigs...even went down to a size 18 dry that I had success using in Colorado when conditions got tough but quickly learned a different tactic was needed. Definitely wasn't what I expected so maybe it'll work for someone else!

What a gorgeous stream. It just screams TROUT! That final shot of the sunset was worth the wait. Great job Drew.
Totally agree.. I'd go back just to camp!
Can’t believe you still have that awesome net! Love it!
I noticed the zip ties... must be good luck scooper
Haha...gonna lose it before I replace it!
Beautiful water, beautiful fish D. Definitely enjoyed this one! Thanks.
Wow, that to me is the absolute perfect trout stream. Quality water, plenty of oxygen, premium riffles with prime drop-offs, clearly tons of juicy insects, and infinite shelter/holding water. The type of stream that never gets old. Loaded with super healthy cutts, browns, and whitey tighties, with some real chunkers mixed in. There's just something epic about catching loads of 10-14 inchers and then hooking into some true small stream trophies in the 16-18 inch class with a 4 or 5 weight rod. That 16" to 18" fish in a small stream is like a 24"-28" hog out of one of the premier western tailwaters.
Awesome video, as usual, sir.
Dude, awesome stream. I caught the biggest whitefish out that first hole in your video. Man, this is a treasure of an area, and those special cuts are too cool!
Tons of whitefish in that stream! Definitely one of my favorite areas
What part of Wyoming is this?if you don't mind me asking
Beautiful Drew. Just Beautiful. The view, the river, the fishing, all of it. Happy to see another vid of you again. Keep it up! 👌
This is what I call: Freedom!
Drew, another great video. Even though your camera was giving you fits it didn't take away from the beautiful scenery and the great fishing....
Hey Drew thanks for sharing another great video with as always awesome scenery to boot well enjoying my morning coffee. Some nice fish being caught out there. I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for taking us with you 🎣👍
That was fun to watch Drew. Keep living the dream and get new GoPro batteries.
Spectacular all the way around!! What a great place!!!
Great video as always Drew. I really need to get out more and update my technique. For me, its been my-rod-is-still-rigged-a-foam-indicator-and-splitshot years since I've been out on the water. LOL
Another great video, Drew. Although that psychedelic portion sort of gave me flashbacks to the 1960s. lol
Haha...gopro was giving me fits. But I've upgraded to the hero 12 for 2024 vids!
Excellent vid and amazing stream. Thanks for sharing
Awesome drew. Am fixing to retire and would love to do what you do. Keep up the good work. I am going to try it
Looking like you might need a new net. 😊.I sure love to see you catch those fish. You make it look so easy
Dang nice stream! And I like the added b-roll shots
That was a gem.
Definitely a special one...glad I went back to check it out!
Beautiful waters, fun to watch
Another great video Drew. I'm a Colorado native and have been to Wyoming twice in the last couple years and I have struck out miserably. I thought I did my homework and found only very few and small fish. I've decided to just stick to what I know, Colorado. You my friend have a knack for finding good locations. Honestly, how many creeks are a bust? Thanks again for sharing.
Fortunate to have time on my side!
Great fishing, terrific scenery, very peaceful
The simple pleasures of life. Enjoyed watching. 👍
I'm from Galliano and I see you fish the Leeville LA area in the winter time. Let me know when you're fishing that area and would love to chase some reds with you on da fly.
Beautiful water
Love that spot! I didn’t get a single brown tho. I was a few weeks earlier maybe.
I prefer stream fishing! Something about it is just better than lake fishing. The freedom of being out there alone finding the holes to fish, catching that dream fish, the fight in the fish is different! It’s just better!
Can you please share the Wyoming streams you fished ? Hope to replicate this cool experience. thanks !
Another great video!
Do you have a favorite 'go-to' Perdigon pattern (Sz and color)? Or do you pick Sz and color based on whats hatching in that particular stream?
Definitely...show/talk about it in the hopper dropper vid I made a few months back
Those are really nice fish. It’s nice to have them come up to a hopper but the Perdigon just works. So, I guess you use hopper/dry dropper as opposed to an indicator. Do you adjust the depth when you find a deep hole? Keep living the dream and keep the videos coming. Peace
Not typically...I fish a hopper dropper when fish are aggressive...more likely to move to eat. Talk about that more in my hopper dropper must have vid. I nymph 9 to 10 months/year on my local AR tailwaters...so I just like to do something different when I can get out west. I'd nymph more in the colder months
I’m gonna have to make a trip up north from Texas
Any idea which subspecies of cutthroat those were? They are beautiful!
Great video as usual. Tell us about your thoughts on your rooftop rod holder please?
I'm torn. It's definitely helpful...I have a rod ready for any stream while I explore. BUT...the constant vibration ate thru the first guide on my 4wt h3f...warranty covered it in a few weeks but now I put a sock on it!
That brown at 8:20 was a hog! Nice catch.
drew where is this? public or private? looks amazing. luv your rig too
Public...I've never fished private water.
What was your dropper? They loved it
June or July Day if you dont mind me asking
🤙
Where??
What creek was this. ??
My buddy keeps sending me "fishing" vids. They're all titled Trouser Trout. Not clicking on them. He doesn't even fish
Nice try Drew lol
