There is really cool theories alex bale shows about mrs. Puffs past it would be cool if you watch🔥alex bale uses so much evidence it seems like his theory actually makes sense
Just in case nobody knew, SpongeBob’s 10 word essay said, “What I learned in boating school is HOW TO DRIVE.” I imagine the reason he crossed it out and changed his mind is because he felt like he didn’t actually learn that considering how many times he failed in the driving test.
I love how I'm Your Biggest Fanatic predicted how insane fandoms would get in the 2010s onward. It really taught me to keep my interests in check before I end up like Patrick.
There were always people like this, but their escapades weren't as well known before the internet. Conventions were the only times their energy was exposed to the public.
I’ll never know or understand how people can be that way. Like Alicia said herself, famous people are still people - not these “perfect” idols media sometimes portrays them to be. Just treat others the way you want to be treated and all is well (that’s if you want to be treated well haha).
Narrator: If SpongeBob doesn't pass this one, it means another WHOLE YEAR OF BOATING SCHOOL!!!! *gets hit by SpongeBob.* Still one of the most memorable openings.
28:48 Fun fact: that piece that the anchovies ripped off of Kevin was actually his "reproductive organ." Stephen Hillenburg was a marine biologist, so he knew what he was doing when he made this.
6:05 Remember, Spongebob knows the _entire_ answers part of the test by heart, and likely knows the entire curriculum Mrs. Puff teaches, but he just can't handle the _actual_ driving part.
Unfortunately a lot of these issues with education stem back to when students were in elementary and middle school. If they had been held back in elementary school and actually had been made to sit down and do the work and learn to read instead of being skated to the next year while being so obviously behind, shit could have been corrected before high school. If they actually struggled with learning, that’s the time to help them develop good studying habits, if they were just not caring about school at that point the embarrassment of being held behind can be a wake up call. While the high school teachers and especially the coach should have done more, at that point, there often isn’t much they can do aside from passing people who aren’t at grade level. On a lighter note: my girlfriend also never watched SpongeBob as a kid and thought until a few years ago that “What I learned in boating school is!” was just an American saying.
Kevin C. Cucumber deserved to get stung by Jellyfish throughout this episode, especially for forcing Spongebob to complete a few pointless tasks so he could become a "Jelly Spotter" but luckily his tasks backfired on him
27:35 I can’t imagine why they would send out a blue fish when there are 3 green and 2 blue fish in total. They should’ve sent out a green fish so that there could be 2 blue fish and 2 green fish in the cave. Sending out the blue fish really messes up my OCD man. 😩
It’s funny how SpongeBob is so incompetent that he can’t even write a 10 word essay without trouble. It’s like he’s destined to never get that license.😅
TBF, I think it’s less “incompetence” and more _extreme_ anxiety. Admittedly, I think this is the point where they stopped making the issue SpongeBob’s anxiety behind the wheel. I’m kinda surprised to see in hindsight that they just flat-out didn’t carry that trait over from Season 1. I thought they threw it away later.
At the end, the fact that Patrick is no longer being hounded by security implies he either somehow gave them the slip despite towing a giant prize, or he had enough and knocked them away somehow.
Or, knowing Patrick, the security guard accidentally got hurt or trapped, either by an unknowing Patrick or just pure misfortune, and Patrick looked around for a second, said "Hey, where'd that guy go?" then shrugged and went to go capture Jeffrey Jellyfish.
4:42 I 100% agree that you should care about kids education. The problem though in the U.S is although there are kids who care, a lot now a days have a hard time putting phones ,other accessories , portable games away during class. What also makes it difficult is for everyone working in schools, have their hands tied with punishing kids who not only are disruptive but disrespect teachers at every turn.( even calling security or noon duty, most of the times is ineffective as the kids know nothing will happen). It’s a serious problem and needs to be corrected in order for kids to actually get a basic education rather than grow up extremely entitled .
HEYYYYY, its been confirmed that Mrs. Puff's real name is Bobby Blowfish. Someone by the name of Alex Bale has made theories about her and the rest of the show. They're really good and surprisingly believable. You should check him out! EDIT: You should finish at least season 3 before you watch his videos for spoiler reasons!
I feel that in regards to high schoolers struggling to read. That was every single classmate I had from 1st grade all the way up to senior year in high school. It was crazy how the people that got the same exact education as me, still read like they were learning to read
In the moral of that episode it just shows that you shouldn’t just think of your problems you have to think about how it would affect everyone because for what Mrs. puff did and just realized yeah SpongeBob would cause a lot of destruction when it came to driving and just by what we saw if SpongeBob drove a car yeah he’s gonna have a long time of training
I met in 2023 my favorite musician at a Convention. I said "Hi, thank you for your cool music" and went away. Because i already felt how i would end with "Hi Kevin"... "Hi Kevin".... "Hi Kevin". This isn't parasocial, this is just starstruck.
4:34 I was watching a news thing on TikTok one day about how more students than ever have behavioral problems. As I was watching, I was thinking, "Okay, parents aren't parenting." But then at the end, they showed statistics that was VERY much targeting black kids and that's when I realized that they aren't trying to start an actual conversation about behavior. It was just an excuse for the news people to be racist assholes.
Yep. There are genuine problems, but plenty of times people aren't _really_ talking about them, they're just using similar or the same words to satisfy their own biased viewpoints. They always show their hand though, in my experience, when they either don't understand, or _refuse_ to see the nuances and context that are important in the actual real problems. Your example is much more straightforward, but also does not surprise me in the slightest.
When i was in High School, there was this football player, and I kid you not, the only class he was failing was P.E. (Physical Education). As for me, ironically I was more good at test than homework.
29:08 Honestly, someone should draw a version where Patrick is a rat and Jeffery is Alicia, giving a deadpanned look to the viewer with the text "Hero worship is unhealthy" above her
21:53 The layer of separation is so real. I remember one time I drove 8 hours to see my family. While there, I saw a girl I knew, but didn't remember from where, so when our eyes met I just said "Hey nice to see you, blablabla", a nice little conversation, she was really sweet and coincidentaly she told me that she was also visiting family members. Spent the next few hours trying to remember I knew her from where. Then, back home, I turned on my TV to look up tomorrow's weather and that's when I wanted to die inside, she was the meteorologist
I have sympathy for many teachers. Some of my teachers in my past are the greatest influences in my entire life. But I hate when people use low pay as an excuse for terrible people being teachers. Everyone knows how poorly teachers are paid (especially if you're in the US), so they go into it knowing their job satisfaction is not a paycheck, but instead the growth that they provide for their students. If you're just a bad teacher, it's as simple as that. Of course I have sympathy for those who are struggling with younger kids, or modern technology or anything, but at least they still try. The ones who give up and say "well why would I try that hard when I barely get paid?" are the ones who don't deserve the position they've been given.
Part of it's the school system as well. I know a couple of teachers and they try their damndest to help their kids but they get held back by what they're allowed to do. Either that or their parents aren't meeting them halfway, causing kids to regress back to square one as a result.
Spongebob trying to write his essay is such an iconic moment of my childhood lmao. Idk why I remember that moment so fondly lol. I guess I found it really funny

What you said about teachers at the start.... it reminded me of my high school math teacher. I'm from a small town and school, so its different from your experience, but my teacher saw how much i was struggling with algebra and the like. So she'd stay after school every day we had math classes and walk me through the problems. To the point funny enough, I could understand college algebra and tutor about logrithms. And what you said about the reading comprehension, that one who was having trouble probably should be tested for dyslexia. I'm saying it as someone who is dyslexic but wasn't diagnosed till college. Some of my old teachers when they found out started crying because "they failed me" was their response. Noting that they missed the signs and felt guilty about it. And they've tried to do better.
Theres a crazy backstory you can find about mrs puff changing her identity and robbing banks with balloon animals. Possibly related to why theres no mr puff
I would like to point out that Mrs. Puff requires SpongeBob to have 600 points to pass, and only takes off 20 for hitting a pedestrian… The bar is in Tartaros.
10:52 There is a theory by someone named "Alex Bale" That talked about this and a few other things about Mrs. Puff, and it is weird how she said "Not again" as if she let another student slide through school that was just like SpongeBob.
I don't know if you've seen it, but look up an anime called Assassination Classroom. It's about an alien teacher that cares a lot about his class and puts in that effort, and their grades improve as they try and fail to kill him on a daily basis.
Kevin is the type of person who was clearly bullied at lot in his past and as an adult he still hasn't let go of that resentment and thinks it's okay for him to be the bully now. People like him have A LOT to be insecure about, so they project all those insecurities and toxic traits onto others even for something as simple as criticism. They see any contradiction as a personal attack and use it as an excuse to be toxic and what's worse is they think it's justified because of what they've been through before. Peak hypocrisy. Also I understand it's a cartoon and it's probably not that deep, but I've witnessed too many bully victims become bullies themselves and this is just how I view them in general.
I was confused for a moment, the title said SpongeBob but the thumbnail was of Adventure Time. Is it just me? Edit: Snapped a Screenshot, now I can rest easy
Omg don't pity stupid people. So many of those kids really coasted and had success handed to them. I remember those people in 12th grade that still hadn't bothered to learn to read. We were in the same school the entire time, got taught the same reading lessons and they never bothered for twelve years. Those same dipshits get passed on because theyre in sports, have wealthy parents, and the school knows they won't bother. Yet I deal with family trauma and moving three times and depression and fail one class but I get the book thrown at me. If you read this, sorry for trauma dumping in your comments. I enjoyed watching your reaction.
We do focus too much attention on people who don't want to be helped instead of people who are genuinely struggling. There's so many people fighting to stay afloat who just need the tiniest bit of support to be good but it always has to get to the point where it becomes a problem for everyone to get anyone to notice (more like actually be affected enough to care). I can't say anything about the specific situation with that one guy, but many people got that way by not caring enough to try in the first place. They probably could've been fine if someone put their foot down years ago, but by now it takes a tremendous effort to get them back on track. We're so busy playing catch up with these guys that the ones who could easily be saved AT THIS VERY MOMENT are falling behind to end up in the same place tomorrow. So many more are getting left in the dust because we're focusing our dwindling energy supply from an undercompensated and demoralized workforce trying to tow the most dysfunctional among us to the front instead of grabbing who we can.
Even as a kid, I had no sympathy for SpongeBob when it came to the boating school episodes. He proved on several occasions that he isn’t fit to drive a vehicle and is a danger to anyone near him when he’s driving. Stop giving him chances and ban him from driving.
took me 20 seconds to change the thumbnail LMAO Y'all are too quick to click my videos
