That can happen occasionally. When the hitch is installed, it's location is fixed and will not vary from vehicle to vehicle of the same year/make/model. The same can't be said for the vehicle's exhaust system. Because the exhaust system has rubber isolators, it's precise location can vary slightly from vehicle to vehicle.
