  • Camping isn't just an awesome way to save money during road trips. It's surprisingly easy to fly and camp out of a rental car, too. Here's everything you need to know to extend your travel budget: justgetoutmore....

    I needed this. Thank you!
I like the idea of going places that already have picnic tables! I didn't think of that 😭

Hope you had a great trip to the PacNW! We're wanting to do the same to visit Grand Canyon. The vid gave me some great ideas thanks for doing this.

Glad to help! Being able to fly and camp can really extend your travel dollars, and it's a great way to really get to know the place you're visiting, too. Hope you have a blast in my home state :)

We’re planning to travel this way but go to a hotel every 3-4 days for showering. We’ve used a collapsible cooler with success. Great ideas!

Yep, we often do the same, though there are usually other possible shower options too-campgrounds, gyms, truck stops, etc. Even if you just camp a night or two between hotel stays, you'll end up saving a bunch of cash.

Nice video. How do you dispose of the propane canister?

Actually this is genius. Not driving to far locations, No hotels, limiting eating at restaurants and being patient, self reliant and realistic....you can save 100's maybe even 1000's. This will enable you to extend your trip, your itinerary, see more or save ca$h. Packing necessities, buying cheap and donating is very clever. Well done. Protect others, protect yourself. Get vaccinated

Thank you for the tips. I am curious about the weight 9f the gear. Is it ok for a second documented baggage???

We always weigh it to make sure it stays under the weight limit to avoid added fees. On occasion, that's meant repacking heavier items into our carry-on.
