Bonus tip: Only disconnect the battery if you love resetting the clock and every single setting on your radio again, as it resets everything when the power is disconnected. If you don’t wanna do all that, just turn the indoor lights off as described and bring the jumper pack as backup.

Great tips, especially the cheap carpet outdoors. We used to have the Aztek and loved the tent feature!

Good suggestions all. Except being out in the middle of nowhere with a disconnected car battery? Seems risky both scenarios. Drain the battery, or disconnect it while out 'enjoying' nature. Decisions, decisions 🤔

Disconnecting the battery in the middle of nowhere means you can reconnect it - and that’s how to avoid a dead battery!

If anyone is looking, I have an UNUSED Caranex H1 for hatchbacks and estates. Just found it in the spare bedroom. They will be making them again (maybe) in 2024, but they will probably be much more expensive or not so bomb-proof!

What booster pack is that? How much does it normally cost?

@@ledzepcleo The one in the video is a Noco GB40, if memory serves. It sells for about CAD$200.

Does leaving your rear hatch up drain the battery as well?

I think our Grand Caravan has a control for the brightness of the dashboard lights and if you turn it all the way down it will 'click' and turn OFF all the interior lights so they aren't on when the doors are open. (Haven't tried this in about a year. So I may have two controls confused but I definitely know there is one that will turn them off. And I think other vehicles I have had also had a switch like it.

Hey, I like the cheap carpet idea too. I notice that the one you found looks suited for outdoor use. Where can I buy one like this? Thanks so much for answering my question.

Hi, Daniel, thanks for watching! My girlfriend bought the one we use a few years ago; I think it's from HomeSense! But Canadian Tire also has a good selection of indoor/outdoor carpets like it that should do the trick! Cheers!
