Fact: More tornadoes cross interstate 35 than any other interstate highway in the country, When you travel this highway from Texas to Iowa in the springtime---be very weather aware! I-35 IS "Tornado alley"!
The Kansas Turnpike: not bad for a 75-year-old road. The KTA says they're going full electronic tolling in 2024; no more tickets. Yeah, there isn't much between OKC and Wichita (and not much more between Wichita and Kansas City, either), but it makes for a pleasant drive. Oklahoma's part of I-35 is one of their older parts, built in the early 60's.
Excellent video. However, just one correction: the Kansas/Sumner county line is at 1:42:40. KDOT always displaces the welcome sign around a mile from the state line on all our highways.
I did that drive when I went to Phoenix by getting a non stop flight to Phoenix and back to OKC and eventually drove by my car in February I played 2 WGWAM golf courses and did some shopping in OKC
Its called Frontier City and I went there regularly as a teenager back when it was cheap. People I knew called it a "tiny Six Flags". Truckers would drive by and honk at us when we were on the big roller coaster called "the Silver Bullet"
@@donavanjohnson409 - Some people are more easily bored than others. I drove this road many times, and often cried "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?", which was very silly as I was the only person in the car.
You won't be bored in the springtime, because you'll be dodging tornadoes all along I-35 from Texas to Iowa! They call this interstate "tornado alley"!
Nice ride along interstate 35 from Oklahoma city Oklahoma to Wichita KS
This looks like a nice 2 hour road trip right here
Thank you

I love my state ❤ I begin this drive a little further south. Before you get to the Purcell exit, the speed limit is 85 (so technically 95 😂)

0:30 California pavement sound.
Do another one when they build that tall building there. Only get the back window from time to rime.

@ 1:17:23 is where The OHP stopped Timothy McVeigh
I remember at 8 years old when you got to the kansas turnpike you hit bridge number one.
That's because it was exactly one mile after crossing into Kansas from the north.
Cool beans!!

@MileageMikeTravels can you go to other US states that you didn’t visit and drive there through roads?
