If you focus on audio, you can hear the sound of Heihachi hitting the lava. And thats when Kazuya says his iconic quote, so he did hit it.
We saw the number of kids; he was hitting it a lot
The trailer says "Iron Fist Resurrection" so i dont think that he survived the fall but rather that someone found a way of revive him
Same thing happened with Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection. They also had plans for killing him in Tekken 5 but they regretted it.
@@TheLordOfTheNight321 Actually in Tekken 5 Heihachi survived the explosion from Jack-4 at Honmaru. He was in vegetative state for weeks until he recovered.

You remember one small bag appearing after Heihachi? One of the Monks appears with that later and you see electric in it. I think that Heihachi was revived from his ASHES.
@victorespisoler9117 It is a very nice theory indeed, but how can you retrieve someone's ashes if they have been submerged in lava? This is the only reason I don't see that happening. Very nice theory though.

The whole story perfectly led to Kazuya defeating Heihachi,it was a complete arc.
What Moon encourages means the deletion of the story.
He likes bad story telling and doesnt understand what good story telling is.
Heihachi DID die,this was reconfirmed by Harada POST Heihachis trailer.
Its called RESURRECTION.
You cant be resurrected if you didnt die.
There is even a patchislot showing his charred body in the lava
Lets analyse the trailer to get an idea of what happened.
1)Heihachi wears a mask and hides his face.Something he would never do
2)His outfit is REVERSED compared to when he died in 7.(It hangs on his left side instead of the right side)
Left means False,its symbolism.
3)Its clear that Reina and the Tekken monks did some kind of ritual.
4)When we see him walking in the smoke from away you will notice he doesnt have hair till he comes closer to the camera.
5)His lightning color is different
6)His scar magically glowed when he yelled his name
7)The trailer seems to imply something ominous is going on with Lidias father.And he seems to have a bit of a resemblance to Heihachi
8)Harada kept calling Heihachi in TK8 as "this character".
Never calling him Heihachi.

9)Harada even POST Tekken 8 Heihachi trailer said they wanted 7 to be the conclusion of Kazuya vs Heihachi
10)Lidia in the trailer is seen being in Reinas dojo abd she gets surrounded by ghostly smoke.Then then the smoke combines and we see MISHIMA LIGHTNING in it
11)"He has perfected his body but his mind is wavering".
HIS body? Heihachis body is already perfected by decades of training
12)Heihachi was at peace with his end in Tekken 7.
He EMBRACED it and even joked about it saying to Kazuya that he thought the volcano was an apt grave for himself(literally admitting he is gonna die)
And he wasnt even bothered when Kazuya survived the Rage Art,he just smiled and chuckled "You are still alive huh".
Heihachi went there to die but only after giving everything he had so he would die like a warrior.
Wait for the DLC,things arent as they seem.

I have my own theory,i have said it before(That is that Lidias father is used for the ritual,hence thats why he lacks the spiky hair in a frame cause he was still transforming).
But that is just a very well educated theory.

Wanting Heihachi to be playable is a whole other thing.
I myself wanted him to be BASE roster,i wanted him to be a ghost like Kazumi so he can have interactions with his relatives.
You dont need to destroy the story to have him playable
Its not like the other times.
Because his other "deaths" were never meant to be deaths and you learned in the same games he survived.
It was never important narratively.
But Kazuyas and Heihachi story was working towards the final battle in 7 for DECADES.
Even the blow we see Kazuya deliver in Tekken 1 intro in 1994 is the same one he used to kill Heihachi(when he punched a fire candle).
Its clear that the Heihachi in Tekken 8 isnt FULLY himself.
It has an essence of him but only partly.
My QUESS is that Kazuya will undo this ritual made version of Heihachi.

Personally I still think Ogre could be involved and be our 4th dlc character.
I’ve always thought the 3rd person in the photo with Lidia and her Dad was Heihachi, I don’t think for a minute the one wearing the mask is him, firstly hair is different but as you said not his style.
I think that black magic is definitely a big part in his resurrection and that he emerges from the explosion at the dojo not the volcano like so many people thought.
The fact he states his name, seems to me like something could be possessing him eg Ogre and that there’s a lot of things we’ll see and learn.
One thing I’ve noticed is that all dlc characters are linked to the story so that’s why I have my theory that Ogre is the 4th and last for season 1.
Tbh all I want now is the gameplay trailer hopefully we get it soon.
Maybe the lava in the volcano caused low crush damage and he got launched over to the rocks by the wall

Also remimder, you cannot fall into the lava like in water, the lava is so dense, you would just fall on top of a lava the same like you would fall on pavement, then you would start burning.

This is just my opinion, so don't took it too seriously.
The reason why Heihachi is still alive, after being thrown into the Volcano?
He had injected his body with Ogre Blood.
Why do I say that? If you look at the last scene of the EVO trailer, his chest and arms are burning, like his HEAT is active.
This is like what happened in Final Battle T7, where Heihachi Awakened...he activated his "HEAT", you can see his aura like HEAT activated in T8.
And after Kazuya threw him into the Volcano in T7, it's possible that the Ogre Blood inside Heihachi's body activated his HEAT and saved him from the Volcano.
This might also be why he always survived every "Death" in the previous Tekken series.
OR, he used Kazumi's blood, as well as her DNA for Reina.

The thing abt ogre blood would mean he didnt die qhich wouldnt make sense since they say he was resurrected and for the other part heat isnt canon its just a gameplay mechanic like rage art, rage drive, etc. him awakening to greater is only because its a shonen trope

Well, I guess now that Heihachi is alive, this'll mean both Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama are gonna have to set aside their differences and unite to face off against their father/grandfather!!!!!!!!
If heihachi was confirmed to be dead, why would they just tell the world to make it final? Why would have a tournament to decide the next head of the Zaibatsu if Heihachi wasn't confirmed dead? Fact is, Harada lied when he said Heihachi was "completely dead." He was meant to come back before Tekken 8's release. That's why they were able to release in the 1st season and have him play a big role in the story. No way they could have done that in a couple of months. They were already working on him pre-launch.
they didnt announce hei's dead because they wouldnt want a general sense of danger to be put in the news and it would put bad reputation on kazuya for killing his father and for the tournament it was a set-up from kazuya to lure in zafina and take control of azazel (play the story) nothing to do with heihachi all the characters confirmed to know abt his death treat him like a dead person in the story

More than likely Heihachi was ressurected by the Ogre gene or another one of his bastard kids.
I also believe that something similar to Vader happened.. The Monks saved his almost destroyed body but in this case... They burned it completely and resurrected him from his Ashes..
In his trailer a weird Small bag appears after Heihachi introduction. Later that the Monk with Bird mask has in his hands that Small bag and some electric(heihachi ashes) appears in it. Maybe is the moment that they resurrect Heihachi.
I also believe that he loses his memory in the resurrection. For this the Tiger White Mask.. Also after the Monks base is destroyed Heihachi show us TEKKEN FLASHBACKS because he recovers his memory.
Another reason to believe it is that "The Mind is Wavering causing one imbalance in mind, body and technique." Like if he was not the same as in the past.
Honestly I knew heihachi would comeback in tekken 8, hell it could be a chance that akuma and Kazumi maybe returning in tekken 8
