@@nickrivas6429 not to mention you can't have very good social interaction when you are more serious then everyone else. Which is another point of drinking. He becomes a bit of a hermit because not it... And before he goes there is saving money reading books in the shop instead of buying them.
The show is good but losses a lot of feel to it... After he was in that world and hated upon. He suffers a lot more then shown in the anime.The nights he wouldn't sleep because he didn't want people stealing what little he had. Made him pick up the skills of making items. When he got good at it he made two for his daughters. After hard work and sleepless nights of course. The show doesn't show how his anger Fester's in him day and night. And sometimes when he is angry it just comes from nothing in the show. That rage shield is much more depressing then shown... To the point that nothing but revenge is on his mind. All day everyday. Until after the Pope of course. Still it is when he lets his guard down, when he losses stuff again and again.

@@Scruffy72 You are correct. Understand, when they say "put it in a cask of water" they mean at least 30 gallons. That means each of those berries is able to produce 30-50 gallons of "wine". At that amount of alcohol (which I guess is magical or something, because there is a volume issue here) several people could die of alcohol poisoning from it. The fact Motoyasu survives long enough to get his stomach pumped is actually an impressive feat of constitution. Naofumi's constitution is just broken. In the novel, he legitimately sits down and eats a bowl of these things because he likes the taste. With that, he probably consumed about a thousand gallons worth of wine, at least in alcohol amount. He does not even get buzzed. Dude shrugs off poisons known for being instant killers with barely a wince. Broken.
