Today was not a good day for a good day but tomorrow will be a good day for a good day . You are a caring sheep farmer and we vlog recipients care about you too. Sending a little warmth from California to you.
I worked in pediatrics early in my nursing career. I spent a lot of time weeping in the linen room after the loss of a child. I questioned my career choice. I was wrong. It is precisely because we react emotionally, mourn deeply, and experience doubt that confirms we are where we are supposed to be. What you are feeling reflects a profound commitment to those we are honoured to care for, humans and animals alike. Grieve, take heart, and know you are stronger than your uncertainties. Sending empathy, support and reassurance. We love you, and what you accomplish courageously, through your vlogs and in your career.
@Sandi - JC says it so well. Let her words of encouragement act as a balm to your aching heart. Do not beat yourself up or wonder what else you might've done. You did the right things. Just take deep slow breaths & enjoy your favorite tea with your family close. 🙏🏼💕 😘
You are NOT in the wrong profession Sandi! Every time I watch these difficult lambing incidents, I am more and more convinced you are in the right profession! I’m a Registered Nurse for human care and I assure you I am in awe of your knowledge, skill and compassion for your ewes and lambs! I salute you.

I always imagine Sandi as a labor and delivery nurse lol. I've been a mother 7 xs. I can imagine her as a nurse lol. Thank u Sandi and thank you for ur nursing on labor and delivery.
Well Sandy I thought I’d tell you a little story. Since March last year here in the uk as I’m high risk I’ve had to stay inside and shield due to my many disabilities. During that time I’ve had bad depression and anxiety but I found your channel and videos a few months before lockdown. It’s kept me going and cheered me up daily. I don’t see anyone so seeing your little farm family has been a wonderful lift. We share your ups and downs we cry with you and laugh with you also and smile at those sucesses which we often forget during the harder days. Your an inspiration Sandy you have helped keep me going these past few months. I prob wouldn’t be here if I didn’t have your channel to watch and keep my mood lifted. So a huge Thankyou for all you do and being here. Try not to focus on the bad times focus on those happy days when you have saved a lamb or done something wonderful with your family and on the farm. We saw your silver linings and enjoyed them with you. Life is about birth and death it’s just natural and you aren’t a miracle worker for all those lambs but to almost all you are. Keep pushing forward and looking forward and don’t look back as your not going that way. Sending love and hugs to you from the uk and I truelly mean it when I say Thankyou for giving me a reason to get up each day even if it’s just to log onto my pc to watch you. Your loved by many.
That's right, Sandy. We are all here in our own location in the world. Cheer up girl..you're a wonderful hard-working woman who clearly loves her MOB. I'm so upset with you that you had to go through that experience with big maman. I know that these are only words written, however please always remember that I'm rooting for you just like a whole bunch others too. I've said prayers for you (and big mama and her babies) that all that happens is meant to be and that you're spirit is at peace. I'll continue for your family and many others. God bless you, Sandy !⭐🙏🐑⭐ Love you bunches, sweetie !❤🐑🧚❤🐑❤ From South-eastern Ontario, Canada !❤❤🐑❤
Feeling Puzzled - I agree with you - Sandie has done a wonderful job helping all those lambs to come into this world. Here in Australia too, I have been watching her with the lambs and it has been so amazing. The love she has for them and seeing them come into this world has kept me going for the last few weeks. It is a lot of hard work and I have been there several times over the years. All I can say is keep it up Sandie, we are all behind you, wishing you well
If anyone writes any ignorant posts or act like keyboard know it all, then block them Sandi, NO ONE needs that BS and negativity!! Lots of love from your Nova Scotian friend and ally!!!!
I would agree, but sometimes the evil words spark a good response. They can make you think just a little harder on how to fix a problem. But, that said, if someone just jumps out and says you're horrible.. Ban them!
Just remember you are qualified for this job. We wouldn't be learning so much from you. I learned better ways to farm and go through life watching you. With every farm and life their story is different and we are so glad you decide to share your life with us. Through the ups and downs in your story we are overjoyed that you share every thing with us.
Wonder if you're qualified? That's unecessrily harsh my friend. ❤️❤️❤️ You didn't give up, you made tough calls and you did everything you could. THAT takes courage and determination. ❤️❤️❤️
I was raised a ranchers son. My dad and granddad were cowboys their entire lives. Whenever my uncle's would drop a new calf by our place, I knew dad and grandpa lost a heifer. It's been tough Sandi but part of it. You're a strong woman and rancher/farmer. I tip my hat to women like you. I'm now 58 and still teaching my sons and daughters. You're doin it right! 🤠
It’s good to question yourself; that’s how we achieve our best self’s, and it shows you have a heart full of compassion/empathy. Guess what? Your the best kind of human! 🤗
We used to have a lot of trouble but we have Brangus now. I've only had to call the vet 1 time in two years for uterine prolapse. Haven't had to pull any.
@@virginiabify We knew what the problem was. Why were losing the calves. We can administer antibiotics ourselves. Aside from surgery, these are all things a vet would do as well.
I see your vlog title and said out loud "Don't worry Sandi, here we come!" Sandi's Lamb Fam has got your back! 😂 I'm really invested in your success and happiness, I think. 🤣
*Sandi people that comment negatively here don’t realize how much heart goes into raising a farm. I raise chickens. Time away from family and friends and structuring life around your farm is only the beginning of sacrifices we make. *Sometimes we get stuck in our heads and it doesn’t help externally having voices confirming negative thought you could have. Personally your channel has brought me out of so many dark spaces. You think you’re only running a farm but you are doing so much more than that. Love from your friend here in Florida country side.* ❤️❤️❤️
I found your channel by accident and I was describing it to my husband (“this woman has a farm and so many adorable sheep and lambs!” He thinks I’m nuts since we live in the burbs. Oh well!). When I told him about the videos I watched, I said “this woman is like nothing I’ve seen before. She just delivers lamb after adorable lamb and *every* time one is born, she is just as excited and kind and sweet to the mom and babies as she is to the zillions of lambs that were born before. If she hasn’t found her calling, I don’t know who has.” Your job is hard. But you bear is with joy and happiness and make a positive mark every day. Saying goodbye before you even say hello is hard. Saying goodbye to animals you love is hard too. Your job is really hard. And that’s ok because there are so many good parts too! I admire your determination and love for all your sheepies. We need more people like you ❤️❤️
Anytime the moms are eating and all the lambs are running back and forth it's one of my favorite things! Makes me think of little kids and sports. My brother back in high school use to referee soccer games and the tiny kids were always his favorite because he said it's hysterical just watching a herd of kids running around, this one's chasing a butterfly, these 2 are just talking, one's waving at mom etc. Lol
I just wanted to say that you did everything you could. There’s nothing more that you can ask of yourself. Focus on all the lambs and ewes that you have saved. Because they’re there. We have seen them, and they still need you. You’re an amazing sheep farmer. Thank you for having the courage to share this with us.
Growing up on a farm you have life and death, and those are just the hard facts. Those that comment harshly need not say anything at all. If you think she doesn't do her damdest to save every life say nothing. Her livestock is treated with love, kindness and respect. Thank you for sharing the good, funny, bad, ugly and sad. This is life on a farm
Sandi don't be so hard on yourself. How much you care about your sheep shows clearly in everything you do. I am going through some of this right now with my own lambing so I feel the anguish. Keep the positives in focus and this too shall pass!! I love watching you 😚
The fact that you DO "second guess" shows how careful and thoughtful you are in your husbandry. You do everything you can to do the right thing. You know SO MUCH, and try so many things to get the best outcome. Sometimes our very best won't give the outcome we desire. Yet you still get up the next morning, and do your utmost once again. You are learning and growing and improving every second. I am in awe of your energy, knowledge, love and care for these wooly creatures.
William Blake said it all~ Knowing you are close by, everyone of those sheep are calm and relaxed because you’re their Shepherd. Carry on~ The Shepherd by William Blake How sweet is the Shepherd's sweet lot! From the morn to the evening she strays; She shall follow her sheep all the day, And her tongue shall be filled with praise. For she hears the lamb's innocent call, And she hears the ewe's tender reply; She is watchful, while they are in peace, For they know when their Shepherd is nigh. (I just had to change Blake’s “he’s” to “SHE’s”) Lol! Girl Power! ❤️🐑❤️
Wanted to stop by and give you support Sandi. Been watching your "preg tox" issues on your Instagram stories. I'm absolutely impressed in how you have gone through all the data to find possible causes. Anything goes awry on your farm, you look at ten different directions to find a solution. Absolutely awesome work Sandi! 👍
Sandi I had 3 Sons only 1 made it ...One died at 1 day old and the other at 25 and 1 who is 52 and has given me two Grandsons .....I cannot let my heart keep breaking so I can only breathe deeply and live for the ones that are here.....You have given us Billy , Ruby and so many more to love don't ever lose yourself .....We won't let you go.....Your tears are your strength ....
Hi Valarie. Your story touched my heart. It sounds like you have a loving family and so much to be proud of in him and the grandsons. May God Bless and Comfort You.
We see you at your best. We see you at your worst. But we see you. Just you. Doing what you love. Being yourself. Look at what you’ve accomplished. Take a good look Sandi. Then stop. And think....if you weren’t doing this would you really be happy? Please know that tragedies happen in all industries. You’re amazing girl. Believe in yourself because we do. Tomorrow will be a better day.
I know this video was posted eight months ago now but if you happen to look at comments on old videos I want to make sure you see another positive comment about this situation. I have been binge-watching all your videos straight through for the last month or two and I want to remind you that you do the best you can with the resources you have. You have a huge heart, you try to give your sheep the best life, and in those occasional cases that things go sideways you always try to do what is best for the sheep. We need more people in the world like you in EVERY industry.
@Aimee Moisa thanks for saying exactly what I was thinking as well. I'm back to binge watching again for the 3rd time. Lol. Sandi is an awesome person with the biggest ❤. @Sandi Brock don't get upset with yourself. In my heart I always believe You have made the correct decisions, and you always have their saftey in mind for your animals and also your family. Keep your chin up high girl!!! Big hugs!!!🤗
I'm so sorry you lost two ewes, and several lambs. Thank you for having the courage to share your life and career with us. I truly look forward to your videos, even though I've never before commented on them. Chin up. Anyone willing to talk crap to you behind a screen, would be a coward if faced with what you do each and every day. Don't let them upset you. I hope the rest of your lambing goes perfectly!
We all have those days. I had one last year, when I walked out to the barn and found my best 2 yr old suri alpaca hanging on the gate. She had reared up and come down between the gate and the post, hanging herself. I had just made the decision that day to put down my suri stud at the vet, after a week of struggle. I was ready to quit. I beat myself up daily for a week. That's when you have to step back and take a breath. Change what you can. Some times, there just isn't anything you can do. Someone once told me when you have livestock, you have dead stock, but it doesn't make it hurt any less. Hugs.
Completely agree. I went out to the barn one day and found most of my chickens dead. The coyote had come while I was home, and if I’d come out earlier, I might’ve been able to save them. But what kept me going was that there were two who were still alive and had a chance. I thought about giving up on egg birds and sticking to sheep, but something in me said that I’ve come too far to give up.
Chin up Sandi. Just at the tail end of spring lambing here in the west of Ireland. Your not alone, I've come to the realization that all the best preparation in the world cant change the fact that these things will happen. Lost a ewe with 2 big lambs. Ewe died before the vet got here. Punctured uterus and prolapsed intestines. Next night another ewe with big lambs and I wasn't able to manipulate into good position. Vet called and he ended up having to cut them out. We can only hope for the best and be prepared for the worst. Keep the faith. Go Leafs Go.
I'm a retired livestock farmer in UK. Never had anything to do with sheep, just cattle and pigs, but find your vlogs fascinating. I know what you're going through at the moment and emphasise. You must have bad days in order to have the good ones. I'm sure you will recover and put this behind you. I'm looking forward to your next vlog and better days. Brian H.
I think everyone in this comment section (and in this channel in general) agrees that you are doing the very best for your sheep every single day❤ sometimes the person that kicks us the hardest in the ass is ourselves but we need to let go of that habit, especially when we do our best. Sending love from greece❤
95% sure that was a uterine torsion (uterus twists like the end of a bread bag) and you can't get in, babiescan't get out. Usually requires a C-Section. When I first learned about it the goat died. Sorry for your loss :( it sucks! I would bet she was pushing so much she ripped the uterus which made it untwist, but then intestines start coming out, and when you reach in you can finally get to the lamb. I don't know the full details of what was or wasn't coming out, but once they rupture there is pretty much no chance, so the vet wouldn't of got there in time to do anything at that point. Again, really really sorry for your losses. :(
Absolutely correct. I'm a retired Vet.Tech. and have seen it many times myself. There is no way she could have helped that ewe unless she was familiar with Torsion, and that's just something farmers wouldn't know unless it was a frequent occurrence. She did her ABSOLUTE best!
@@lesleyyoung5730 yes. After my first run in with a torsion I remembered how to tell if it was one. So the next time I ran into it I managed to save the doe and her kids with a csection! But even when you do know what you've run into and do all the right things, you can still lose!
Ladies: 22 pound lamb and a 10 pound twin. This was a no win scenario - by the time she knew there was real labor going on it was already too late. Nothing about this one was normal or predictable.
@@julieenslow5915 they aren't saying it is they are saying they've been in the same situation and how horrible it is to not know how to help until the mum already passed and more than likely the babies too.
There is no livestock operation, no matter how established, how professional, or how well staffed or stocked that has no losses. Vets sometimes lose animals no matter how hard they try. Yes, it hurts. It hurts because you are a caring human being. Learn from the past and apply it to the future when you can. That's all we can do. Thanks for sharing the ups and the downs. Virtual hugs to you and yours.
I follow Ima survivor donkey and animal sanctuary there momma Meg (goat) she had a c-section on Valentine day last year had 4 girls. Then Aug 1st she had another c-section and she and all 4 babies passed away at the vets office.
I'm a retired large animal vet and believe me, we mourn our losses. Not only do we sometimes lose an animal(s), but then we feel so much guilt at still having to submit some kind of bill to the producer. If you are an associate vet, billing is non-negotiable. The very worse is when it's one of your own animals, I'm sure you can imagine the guilt.
@@susanmelton8525 oh I bet...a few weeks later one of her quads could not get better from walking pneumonia that all the goats had 11 of them had it but she got weak and passed away even though they tried a rumen transplant. She was close to her momma and just couldn't get better.
I had a very similar night a couple years ago... it still rates as one of the worst nights of my life. Praying peace upon you tonight. May you have rest for your body, mind, and heart! God bless ❤️
I’ve farmed all my life until up to about 3 years ago, beef cattle. I am having to care for my elderly sick mother now and I really miss my animals. My husband and I have talked about goat farming but after watching you I think I will stay retired when my mom passes. I’m an old woman and I don’t think I’ve got it in me anymore. I’d forgotten how stressful it is losing animals and it happens. The last year we had cattle lightening struck our herd killing a few at the same time. Terrible!
I just wanna remind you those people who are ugly/rude/judging probably have never experienced raising/breeding animals. People who have know that no matter what you do just like with humans we can’t save them all. My encouragement for you during this lambing season is remember this too shall pass, you are doing everything you can!!! We absolutely understand life happens and we all grieve each loss with you, please know for every 1 person questioning you there are 1000s of us cheering you on and sending you as much love as we can. 💕💕💕
Sandi don't beat yourself up. You are one of the most kindest carrying farmers I've seen in a long time. Your sheep are more than just a product to you. Thank you for showing us that you can have a heart and still farm.
I'm not sure about anyone else, but I scrolled this entire comment section looking for the haters so I could tell them off. I didn't see any but Sandi I got your back!
It is obvious to me how much you care about all of them. I can't imagine how hard a loss like that was and you did everything that you could. Be kind to yourself.
OMG Sandi, you are so brave to do this work. There are no guarantees with reproduction in any species. As an MD, my heart goes out to you as you bear the losses with such compassion and grace. This would not have turned out another way with a call to the vet - you would have just had another person to share the grief with. Thanks so much for sharing the realities of shepherding along with the joys. ❤️
You are a brave, amazing and MORE THAN COMPETENT sheep farmer. You care for your sheep better than some people care for their own young. I would not expect you to call a vet every time you have an issue. Thank you for continuing to show us the good, bad, and terrible. That’s part of farming. I challenge anyone who has anything negative to say to step in your shoes or the shoes of a farmer for one day. Hugs to you Sandi!
Farming is much harder when you have a heartfelt love of your animals and drive for the perfect outcome for each of your flock. It's clearly impossible to treat your charges dispassionately "like farm animals" without caring about their wellbeing as much as you obviously do. Unfortunately, such loving attention to your sheep has a negative side effect when nature throws its negative curveballs. You shoulder a heavy emotional burden that I hope you can shake off more and more easily as time passes. For that, and the absolute top rate quality of your care, your subscribers admire, support and respect you.
As a new viewer to your channel I greatly appreciate the honesty of your videos and how in depth you are with everything! Working with animals isn't always easy or pretty and that honesty is important for anyone who wants to work with animals to know. Especially working with as many animals as you do there are bound to be complications and bad days like these. Your animals are visibly well cared for and in just the few videos I've seen it's clear that you take every bad experience and try to learn from it so you can save the next animal and that's so inspirational! You didn't just wait for something bad to happen, you saw that something was wrong with that ewe, diagnosed the situation and pre-emptively stepped in to help with the prolapse harness. You did everything you could and fought to save each life, thank you :)
I'm so sorry about this day, Sandi. I know you love these Ewes. My heart breaks for you sometimes. 🫶🏽 That triplet momma was like "NO! Don't lock me in with all 3 of these babies!" 😂😂
Sandi, I don't know if you will see this comment because it's an old video? I love your channel. Please ignore any negative comments because the true followers know you give 2000% and they love you, your skills, your knowledge your sheep, your barns, your videos, your doggos and family and friends. Know that you have virtual hugs from us whenever needed. 🐑💗🐑
My mom, God rest her soul, helped birth approx. 4,400 babies during her nursing career.. Never talked much, if at all, about the death part of birthing.. I know she said a prayer for each and everyone and thanked God for all that lived.....
@@rodagrail3231 why not?!!! Do you think God separates them? The babies and mothers are the same in the love and care. Sorry trying not to jump on my soapbox but that made me mad! Sandy, Blessings to you and all you love. Don't let anyone tell you bad things, those are your loved ones and I know it hurts. I send you Love to help heal your heart. Judy
@Roda Grail Giving birth is painful and dangerous whether you are sheep or a human woman, or an elephant, or....Every birth the mother walks the edge of life and death to she can bring new life into the world. Every birth should be respected.
@@MobyDicksWife Every HUMAN birth should be respected...how can u even compare humans to animals!!! I LOVE animals and have wanted sheep 4 a long time...have had goat's who had babies....but animals have there place!!
I was going to say the same thing. I watch Tom Pemberton's YT channel and saw the full calfing and lambing videos, no censorship. He put up a warning that what was coming would be graphic🤷🏾♀️
Right. Sonne Farms has been streaming calves being born. It think it's the fact that it gets demonetized. I think if we approach posting a video that won't make $$ as good karma in sharing info and experience instead of seeing it as a punishment, it will be easier to cope with as a content creator. At least, that's how I'd soothe my self, lol.
Losing an animal is heart breaking but you do everything you can for them. Think of the doctors and nurses that lose patients but still go on knowing they can save others. It just show that you have compassion for what you do. Don't beat yourself up. Sometimes things just aren't meant to be.
I was left with a small herd, when my dad passed on. I was 17 at the time. The ewes and the one ram were always in same pasture and barn. Dad passed in October, so by December several started lambing. Not prepared and lost most of the ewes and lambs were lost! I still remember that difficult time. My Dad was so proud of his sheep, only to pass on after having them for only a couple of years. Your videos are really so relevant to me and what yoi go through when you lose a ewe and lamb
When I was 19 I went to Vegas to visit my sister and she worked at a vet office. She wanted me to go to work with her so I could see what it was like. Our whole family loves animals so much and I was excited but I told her I wouldn't be able to handle any animals that had to come in for euthanasia. She said it doesn't happen that often and so I'd be fine. Sure enough the first TWO appts were euthanizing appts!! I cried the entire day and my sister's boss felt so bad that I had to experience that, so he gave me a kitten to take home 😅 it helped, but I'll never forget how bad I was hurting for these families and the dogs. I cried for like a week afterwards too. THIS is exactly why I couldn't do this job lol
When I was in college studying Vet Technology I had a worse time at the Animal Hospital rotation than the Lab animal rotation. Yes, the lab animals all die for science. But the animal hospital had owners who couldn’t pay even for a bag of fluids. I wanted to pay for everyone’s pet.
Lol, Sandi onehandedly stuffing lambs into the new and straw-free sled. Unceremoniously like a busy mom with toddlers to put into a car seat... Dearest Sandi, two years later, I hope you have had no more days quite like this one. We can only do our best, and some things just don't turn out despite everything. We all have moments of wanting to run away in the tough times, but you have found your inner strength because you have chosen to persevere. That makes the next tough day just a little bit easier, no matter what part of your life is effected. You are amazing.
If you’d like to try another idea for the lamb taxi, you could take the top off the kennel and secure all the sides. Just a deeper basket type style! 🐑🖤
4:37 I know you've had some tough times. Don't kick yourself. Learn, grow, and look at what you HAVE accomplished. These babies are happy and healthy and YOU were instrumental in that. You! All you can ever do is your best, and you do that very very well indeed!!!
Good morning Sandi! 👋🏼 I know you've been railed in the comments recently, I saw your Instagram story with the C section. You're so kind and try so hard to keep up with everything. I wanted to say thank you for uploading, I can't imagine how tough it is. Much love and virtual hugs from Texas. ❤
You always do all you can, and the fact that you're emotional about it proves how much you care. You don't got into any of these situations without care and attention to what you do, and we appreciate that. You are far harder on yourself than anyone else would be, and once more, that shows how much you care, how much you try, and how carefully you try to plan. The ones we can't save are the hardest.
Sandi, I saw your post yesterday prior to you posting this video.. I CAN NOT PUT INTO WORDS HOW MUCH RESPECT I HAVE FOR YOU... YOUR ALWAYS A RESPECTABLE INDIVIDUAL.. I THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS BEING REAL AND HONEST... I THANK YOU FOR SHARING THE GOOD BAD AND UGLY. no I don’t believe you’re in the wrong profession... none of us...NONE of us are perfect no matter who thinks they are... life teaches us lessons everyday... we are always learning... even in my profession things get missed and I beat myself up for it... we can only aim for perfection... keep your head up... you’ve saved more than you’ve lost!!!
As John Denver would say, “Some days are diamonds. Some days are stones.” You just happened to have a stone day. The diamond days for us watching your vlogs seem much more often. We got your six. The triplets were soooooo cute. I think you forgot to tell them to keep their legs and tails inside the car at all times. 😄. Have you ever had a ewe with 5 lambs? Big mama looks so big maybe she’s carrying that many?
It's not that unusual for Sandi to get at least one set of five in a lambing group. And she's definitely had a litter of six at least once, I remember it. They were tiny!
I believe she had one so far with 5 but it was a weird one a stillborn and two mummified ones. So kind of doesn’t count I guess. I know I’ve seen other lambings where she’s had all 5 survive.
@@mrwraykingjames868 that’s the term Sandi used if you watch the other videos from this lambing. I don’t think she showed many if any pics of the dead ones.
Just finished watching this video, as soon as you said you were having a bad day, my 3-year-old gets up and goes over to the her snacks and asks "which one you'd like to make you feel better?"
You're doing a great job raising a compassionate little sweetheart. I'm sure that Sandi will appreciate this little one's giant heart! Keep up the great work!
Sandi I just started watching your channel yesterday so what I’ve observed is the kind and loving way you are with your ewes and lambs. It must be hard to reconcile the sad days but let the glad days keep you strong. I am a retired RN and I remember worrying if I did all I could do. You are doing something you obviously love so keep smiling!🌹
My heart goes out to you. We have Katahdins it is always heartbreaking when you loose any of them. It never gets any easier. You are inspiring, learned so many new things I didn't know even after 20 years of lambing. You did all you could do. Tomorrow another day God will bless you and it will be GREAT !!
The good days just sail by, we kind of take them for granted... but bad days hurt and it's because you care so much about these ewes and lambs and ehat you are doing here. There are nearly 250 thousand of us checking in and loving your channel, lov ing the ewes and of course loving you Sandi. Stay strong on the bad days.. and try to remember how many good ones there are compared to bad! I understand there have been quite a few bad ones this lambing, but we will remember the good stories and adorable ewes the most. Stay strong Sandi, we are all here because we want to be, good days and bad. *hugs* and love from Sweden. xoxo
When you first said you were running into a road block on feeling the lamb, my first thought was twisted uterus. It happens with dogs too but I’ve seen it only once in 50 years of delivering my show puppies. Even if you had known it, a csection is the only solution. Time is the enemy on this. The 22 lb lamb was in there doing damage and nothing could be done. Take heart that you did all that you could for both the ewe and the babies.
Just one bad day out of all the good days. That each and every one of your viewers have watched you watch over 500 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 . You are awesome at what you do.. Doctors can't even save all of their patients. None of your real followers would ever say you shouldn't be doing what you're doing. You cry, we cry right along with you 😢 💔 😔 I just wish you could see yourself as most of us see you. Keep doing what you do.
I'm sorry for what happened to you yesterday! Hopefully today is much better! You're doing a really great job! I love all your videos so much and especially watching the lambs! Keep up your hard work, you're doing amazing! You inspire me so much!❤️🐑
I tend not to post comments but I'm 14 and my dream is to be a farmer and some days just go awful but then you have days where the best things happen there is nothing and I mean NOTHING you could have done. Just take an hour or so to yourself and you will comeback feeling a bit better ❤️ try and stay positive and rest in peace to the mamma sheep and there babies ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You're wiser than your years. I hope you make it as a farmer. Because we always need more good farmers who care about their animals. Try to remember your words some day when you're grown & having a hard day with your own animals. Good luck. Farming is very hard & requires a great variety of skills to pull off.
Nirrrina I have 24+ guinea pigs and obviously it's not a farm but I get up early and feed them and do the work etc, I'm hoping to help out at a local farm after lockdown. I'm not trying to brag but I don't think many 14year olds would be confident on lamming a mamma sheep. X
Any time you here the word farmer, you know the circle of life is part of your job. This was a sad day . I can see you are doing the right job. Take heart. You have many supporters.
Sandi, we love you. You're doing a great job and I'm sending you all the positive energy I can find. Give cinnamon a cuddle for me, and try to keep your chin up.
There's a HUGE difference between a person who owns livestock, and a stockman or shepherd(ess). You are the latter. It's easy to get caught up in the micro, up close view because that's what you live, so the losses hurt, but don't lose sight of the macro, longer range, view. You've saved WAYYYYYYY more than you've lost, which at the end of the day, or season, or your life, is the number that counts. As those of us who take responsibility over livestock are judged by our maker when that time comes, it is my belief that He doesn't count numbers, He measures effort and what's in that persons heart. You're in good stead.....
I’m going to repeat what I said yesterday. Nature is as nature does. I’m glad you have confirmation from the vet that it still would have been the same outcome had they had the call. It’s been a horrible couple of days but it’s not from anything you did or didn’t do. Sometimes it’s the luck of the draw and there’s nothing you can do about it except process the grief and treat yourself kindly x
Theres so much beauty in farming that you get to experience, but so much heartache as well. The compassionate farmers shed more tears than people who dont farm ever know about. But there they are... your tears and sadness at losing animals is understood.
Never lose sight of the fact that in a year you handle a huge number of Ewes and their lambs, and your care and ability gives you success stories almost all of the time. It would be impossible to handle as many lambings as you do and not have a few unfortunate situations. You do a great job. Hold your head high.
Ms Sandi, I tell my daughters that to get through life you need to be your own best friend. We know it, you need to own that you are an amazing sheep farmer, wife, mother, and land farmer, not necessarily in that order but nonetheless you are amazing. I have been taking care of livestock since I was 9. I will be 70 soon. You do an amazing job. Be your own cheerleader. You have pompoms just shake them my dear.
Don't beat yourself up. You work so hard to make sure all your babies are thriving, and mamma's get everything they need. You cannot be blamed for anything that goes wrong. Nature is not perfect. Celebrate your successes. We love your videos. Thanks for all the time and energy you spare for our entertainment. X
You are an inspiration. I love that you are so real with your thoughts and emotions. Farming can be so amazing and so rewarding, but other days it can be heart wrenching and just suck! Sometimes the harder you work, the bigger the heartbreak, but often the bigger the reward. Please keep doing what you’re doing. So many of us are learning from you and with you. As we Canadian 4-Hers say, “Learn to do by doing”
Couple of thoughts: 1) A lot of your viewers mention how they are not farmers but can’t stop watching your channel and love it. I think that is in part because we sense that in our sterile city/town lives we have missed a crucial connection to real life and real death. You bring that to us. At a cost to you. So thank you for taking it on the chin for us. And 2) “stay on the bus gus” 🥰
I'm crying, you're crying, we're all crying - this was rough. What could you have done to change the outcome of what happened? Nothing (unless you developed telepathy, didn't use it and didn't tell us!). You take great care of your sheep, your family and your viewers but not so much yourself. We love you and are here for you. As for the coulda, shoulda, woulda sheep farmer Sandi wannabees - screw em! #superfan
I'm sick and grumpy, didn't mean to sound so "harsh". But to think of people being mean to "my Sandi" makes me ANGRY! I couldn't have survived the pandemic without you Sandi - you help people more than you can ever know. Feel better soon!
Hi Sandi, can't watch right now but just thought I would quickly comment to say I know you're having a rough few days but it will get better. You inspire me every day and you always do your best. Lots of love, yas and Dan xxx
I really appreciate you showing the hard parts of farming. I have recently started producing goats and I feel every loss more than I should. Seeing that even farmers who really have their stuff together can still have struggles like this makes me feel like I’m not completely alone and hopeful I’ll make it through the hard stuff too.
I think we all beat ourselves up when things go bad. However we seldom praise our success. I think Noah would have something to say about trying everything and giving them a chance. Thank you for sharing the real truth about sheep farming.
I sent you an email with a lamb taxi idea that I saw someone else implementing. But I wanted to add that to help the ewes get used to the one you have currently I'd leave it out in the pen so they can all come up and investigate it and realize it won't eat them. You could even put it in a lambing pen if you feel better about it. But having exposure to the "new thing" could possibly help? 🤔 Either way I want to say that you are an absolute ray of sunshine and we appreciate you being so venerable with us. You have got this 💜
Sandi, you are soooooooooooooooooo hard on yourself. What you do everyday in every way shows the love you have for your sheep. The grief you're struggling with certainly verifies how deeply you care for your flock. They couldn't be in better hands than yours, Sandi. You're GREAT at what you do and your humility is very admirable. I enjoy your channel very much and am always in awe of your work ethics. You're such a hard worker. I think that you may need a really good night's rest, as your job is both emotional and physical. Maybe your children can handle things for you so that you can get to bed at least one night really early and remain in bed until you wake up naturally without an alarm clock. It might help you handle the stress associated with lambing.
Sandy, you are a very caring person. Anyone who watches multiple videos can see that. You are my bright light, even on your darkest days. And I share in your grief as farming livestock is a hard profession.
Sandi your awesome caring person.God has blessed you with a gifts of compassion, caring, giving, and sharing. We are here for you!God I pray for Sandi and this difficult day.Cover her in your Grace and Mercy.God let her understand that through these difficulties ,she is growing in her Faith and Trust in you!
When I think back over the ones you have saved it makes my heart swell. You did your best, there are NO guarantees in life. You care so deeply for your flock and that shows....every single video. The fact that you are "real" makes you one of the best here to watch. It's part of life, part of farm life and nobody can say anything negative about it. Head up, smile on that face and adjust your crown lady.....you did good.
Sandy you do such a great job with your herd and your babies and your mom's keep up the great work. Sorry to hear that yesterday was so tough for you. Hope the births get better for you. And your videos are always so much fun to watch 🙂😄
There is a difference in that you HAVE a fail or that YOU fail. You did all the best you could in a situation that was more than you could solve. YOU did good. You chose this work. We thank you for bringing the quality of lambs to the market. You share with us the ups and downs. We cheer with you for the ups and feel sorry for the downs. But all in all, be proud of what you do!
Sandi you are doing fabulous job! don't get discouraged! Everyday is a learning curve.... As long as you learn from your mistakes.... you have added some knowledge to your databank up there in your head and you're also a lot quicker concerning situations that may occur. we all appreciate you! And they're going to be situations that are going to be beyond your control hun. You are much loved throughout the RUclips world. And you have nothing but big supporters on this channel and big hugs from Central Texas
I fall in love with each batch of your lambs, and sometimes I wonder how hard it must be to send them to market. You've taught me that you do it ethically, with a smart business sense but a massively huge heart. I see how well you treat your flock, how they hold your heart. Sending you a huge hug and I hope you take care, and enjoy your great days. Thank you for showing the crap with the good, being real and inspiring strong women no matter what your profession.
You ha e the biggest heart of anyone I watch. I cried right along with you. You did your best with everyone that was there. Keep up the good work. Much love to ewe and your family.
Sandi I am so sorry for the day that you had. We can all clearly see how much you care for these animals and how much of your heart and soul you put into your job. Don't let the negativity get you down. Your true fans and fellow farmers know you did everything you could do. We all believe in you and cry right along with you. Keep your head up it will be ok. We love you Sandi!!
The farmer that hasn’t cried doesn’t have a heart. Nothing you can do. Tomorrow is another day and we always hope it will be a good one.
I'm thinking about the farmers herein Nebraska that watched their calves wash away in the floods a couple years ago 😢
Well said 🙏🏼

It's tough sometimes sweetheart

I worked in pediatrics early in my nursing career. I spent a lot of time weeping in the linen room after the loss of a child. I questioned my career choice. I was wrong. It is precisely because we react emotionally, mourn deeply, and experience doubt that confirms we are where we are supposed to be. What you are feeling reflects a profound commitment to those we are honoured to care for, humans and animals alike. Grieve, take heart, and know you are stronger than your uncertainties. Sending empathy, support and reassurance. We love you, and what you accomplish courageously, through your vlogs and in your career.
Beautifully said. 💕🙏🏽
Your reply was perfect. Couldn't have been said better.
Ditto, in the NICU.
Agreed. As awful it was to lose ewes and lambs, I know you did your best even though the outcome wasn’t desired. Long distance hugs from Atlanta, GA.

All I can say is keep it up Sandie, we are all behind you, wishing you well
Yes she is I love her too.
TWENTY TWO POUNDS?! That is INSANE! You did everything you could, we all know you love your sheep and do all that you can for them.
If anyone writes any ignorant posts or act like keyboard know it all, then block them Sandi, NO ONE needs that BS and negativity!! Lots of love from your Nova Scotian friend and ally!!!!

Yes, use the ban hammer.
I second this emotion.

You didn't give up, you made tough calls and you did everything you could.
Thank you so much sir.

I see your vlog title and said out loud "Don't worry Sandi, here we come!" Sandi's Lamb Fam has got your back! 😂 I'm really invested in your success and happiness, I think. 🤣
Me, too!
You are an amazing strong person don’t ever forget that

Growing up on a farm you have life and death, and those are just the hard facts. Those that comment harshly need not say anything at all. This is life on a farm
I am so sorry you had such a traumatic day, Sandi. Your heart is in your sheep farming and we all know that. Take some time for yourself!
I cried not over the loss of the sheep, but for Sandy's 100% effort in doing everything and still having a loss during lambing. Hugs here.......
William Blake said it all~
Knowing you are close by, everyone of those sheep are calm and relaxed because you’re their Shepherd. Carry on~
The Shepherd
by William Blake
How sweet is the Shepherd's sweet lot!
From the morn to the evening she strays;
She shall follow her sheep all the day,
And her tongue shall be filled with praise.
For she hears the lamb's innocent call,
And she hears the ewe's tender reply;
She is watchful, while they are in peace,
For they know when their Shepherd is nigh.
(I just had to change Blake’s “he’s” to “SHE’s”)
Lol! Girl Power! ❤️🐑❤️

I know this video was posted eight months ago now but if you happen to look at comments on old videos I want to make sure you see another positive comment about this situation. I have been binge-watching all your videos straight through for the last month or two and I want to remind you that you do the best you can with the resources you have. Hello Sandi, we have a saying in Dutch: the best helmsmen are the ones standing on shore. Don't let these comments get under your skin.
I really like that saying!
I think everyone in this comment section (and in this channel in general) agrees that you are doing the very best for your sheep every single day❤ sometimes the person that kicks us the hardest in the ass is ourselves but we need to let go of that habit, especially when we do our best. Sending love from greece❤

I've always said we are our own worst enemy.
@@PhoenixXFeatherz Right? It all comes down to identification and timing. And luck, lots of luck!

That triplet momma was like "NO!
Comparing human beings and sheep birthing??
@@rodagrail3231 why not?!!!
Do you think God separates them? The babies and mothers are the same in the love and care.
Sorry trying not to jump on my soapbox but that made me mad!
Sandy, Blessings to you and all you love. Don't let anyone tell you bad things, those are your loved ones and I know it hurts. I send you Love to help heal your heart.

@Roda Grail Giving birth is painful and dangerous whether you are sheep or a human woman, or an elephant, or....Every birth the mother walks the edge of life and death to she can bring new life into the world. Every birth should be respected.
@@coffeetish Of course God cares more for humans than animals..seriously???
I'm saying nothing about Sandy here..love her.
@@MobyDicksWife Every HUMAN birth should be respected...how can u even compare humans to animals!!! I LOVE animals and have wanted sheep 4 a long time...have had goat's who had babies....but animals have there place!!
I watch other RUclips channels that show animal births.
Why are they targeting you?
This is life!
I was going to say the same thing. I watch Tom Pemberton's YT channel and saw the full calfing and lambing videos, no censorship. He put up a warning that what was coming would be graphic🤷🏾♀️
cuz someone reported.. so now it is on the watchlist.
@@T_P_W_ThachoZenjuan demonetized = RUclips losing ads money.. so sick of them.
Your videos are really so relevant to me and what yoi go through when you lose a ewe and lamb
ps I'm 70 yrs old
When I was 19 I went to Vegas to visit my sister and she worked at a vet office.
Maybe shorten the pull rope?
I was going to suggest the same! And a shorter rope.
And spray the bottom with nonstick spray! It'll move even easier.
Yes I agree put the basket in the sled
I think the long rope is to keep mama's attention as being too close she gets spooky.
Sending so much love. Your kindness and gentleness to that momma that passed was VERY evident in the video. 💯💗
She has I think had one with 5 lambs
It's not that unusual for Sandi to get at least one set of five in a lambing group. And she's definitely had a litter of six at least once, I remember it. They were tiny!
I believe she had one so far with 5 but it was a weird one a stillborn and two mummified ones. So kind of doesn’t count I guess. I know I’ve seen other lambings where she’s had all 5 survive.
@@jaciz151 what does mummified mean
@@mrwraykingjames868 that’s the term Sandi used if you watch the other videos from this lambing. I don’t think she showed many if any pics of the dead ones.
Just finished watching this video, as soon as you said you were having a bad day, my 3-year-old gets up and goes over to the her snacks and asks "which one you'd like to make you feel better?"
That is so cute! Are you a Southener? Treating bad days with food sounds like what a Southener would do! I say so because i am one 🤣
@@rebeccaburrow7199 Nope, we're Canadian 🤣 I've always grown up with a bad day deserves a treat or something to make you feel better ❤️
Your an amazing sheep farmer. Dont let anyone get you down. I've never seen someone care so much. Your doing great.
Yes she does everything she can to save and protect her flock... They're so lucky to have her..💚
The good days just sail by, we kind of take them for granted... but bad days hurt and it's because you care so much about these ewes and lambs and ehat you are doing here.
Sandi, I admire you so much. The ewes and lambs are so fortunate to have you as their Shepherd.
You cry, we cry right along with you 😢 💔 😔
I just wish you could see yourself as most of us see you. Keep doing what you do.
Don’t despair Sandi your doing everything you can for your sheep and we all love you for it hun 🥰
Nirrrina you kinda made me cry, hearing those words from a complete stranger! ❤️
This is so wholesome omg.

Big Mama is such a thief. Doesn’t she know that she’s going to have more than enough to take care of once she births. So funny!
It just means her hormones are yelling "Baby, take care of the baby!" She is probably going to be a supermom.
I can’t wait to se how many!
I love your comment❤️ please pray for my little lamb, it’s brother just died and it is sick as well
Amen. Lord bless you and your family.❤️🐑
I love watching the babies running and playing. Watching them is a great stress reliever!
Amen, nothing like couch potatoes calling the shots! Sure easy from the cheap seats!
That's funny, how both ya'll names are J.H. lol
That means that 364 are better. Love watching you help these moms. Life is fleeting. We believe that animals have spirits and they are fine.
Thank you for being so raw and open to the world! It takes a lot to go through the things you do let alone vlog it
Someone else called a cab. That’s hilarious. Sandi the cabbie.
I think we all beat ourselves up when things go bad. However we seldom praise our success. I think Noah would have something to say about trying everything and giving them a chance. Thank you for sharing the real truth about sheep farming.
Yes, I bet Noah would!❤️🙏🏼👍🏻
I sent you an email with a lamb taxi idea that I saw someone else implementing. You have got this 💜
I was about to post the same idea!
Sandi don't question what you did. Farm life is heartbreaking at times. You love your animals and everyone can see that.
