I dont trust VW reliability. Had new VW and Audi, both had problems straight out the showroom. Not good enough. I also wish car makers would stop this ridiculous rear end design where the bumper trim is made to look like big exhausts. Nothing more than pretentious crap. I would be embarrassed to be seen in a car like that, pretending I've got big exhausts. Mercedes are the biggest culprit. Do they think other drivers will think its real ? Sadly it seems that car makers are becoming drawn into a world where style over substance is more important. Perceived image is everything to a lot of buyers, even if its tacky, so long as its flashy, thats all that matters.
When you disable the stop and start does that make the fuel go even more. I just got a 2017 tsi 1.0 and I put £60 full tank and by the fourth day it’s just above half I don’t think I’ve driven much as well

Geil.
I was driving towards Moradabad (UP) few days back, my car stopped suddenly, I stopped the car and wait for 10 minutes, again I started the car but it did not start. I took the car to Volkswagen authorized service center atWolgswagen Moradabad, they had no clue what has happened they kept on saying that they are checking, after two days they are saying head is broken and pistons are damaged due to overheating. They were clueless and opened my car parts completely, and charged me heavily for just inspecting. Now my question is how come this has happened without any warning light. This is a premium hatchback and I expect it to have this basic feature of overheating warning which is present in cars worth half of polo’s price. It’s surprising that a moder engine can self destruct with ZERO warning, I bought this car because of the (German) engine only.
Say No to Autonomous Driving Weedy performance for economy ? Yes, id love a noisy oil burning diesel four cylinder, and of course the important factor is to be able to drive like a bell end on the motorway commute, look at the torque ive got LOL tailgating and cutting in at the last second. Dashcams catch people like that every day....
I don't think that even the 85hp model feels weak, because of the higher torque from the turbocharger. Engines are small, but they are punchy because of those turbos.
m1rchegfn yeah only inexperienced people think that. I have driven a 75ps 1.4tdi on the polo and the torque honesty makes it pretty similar to the 1.6tdi. Most of the haters are Americans with their bug engines
I think that it's enough punchy for daily driving in the city. Also, highway cruising on 100-120kmh should be okay.
