- Hey! It's my Birthday today and I got you all a gift instead!
The Battletech Mainline lore series continues with the first video from the Inner Sphere perspective. Following the events of the Star League video, this one picks up right were that one left off. We look into what happened to the Inner Sphere after the Exodus, and witness the series of wars that nearly broke the Inner Sphere. Covering events from 2780-3032, there's alot in this video, so make sure you have a drink and snack at the ready. Reactor: Online...

Sorry, I am 3 weeks late, but I wanted to say that this video was a great primer for the Succession Wars era.
Your lore videos are stellar. Between you and tex, and sarna, I can keep my battletech itch. Such a fascinating setting.
You should also check out Meeko Mage, he does bite-sized battlemech synopses; similar to Tex but in 10-minute slots.
My god ComStar just WON'T STOP
Have to say I greatly enjoyed this video and just subscribed, keep up the good job!
ComStar is always watching.
Pay your bills
for someone with written and spoken dyslexia, this was very well done, if u hadnt mentioned it, i wouldnt have known, havent noted anything, great vid, and if i may say so: for a piece that covers all 4 succession wars and the political atmosphere, it was pretty precise and painted a clear vision on the situation and how messed up it was! keep up the good work, definitly earned a new sub ^^
*quickly hides the evidence that is 2-3 takes per line*. Ah, yes! No dyslexia here!
Thank you very much! Means alot to get comments like this.
As a proud citizen of the Concordat, it always amuses to me watch Great Houses beat each other up and leave us alone for a change.
I think it should be noted, in regards to the Ares Conventions: The Ares Conventions were created as far back as the Age of War, that's Pre-Star League. One of the First things the Star League did upon coming together was to rescind them at the start of the Unification Wars, they were never reinstated.
Thanks for your sharing of the battletech lore. I love these.
I don’t know if you already knew this, but Maximillian Liao was pretty cooky to begin with. When Hanse Davion gave his speech where he ‘gifted’ his wife the Capellan Confederation, the Liao family was at the wedding when he did that and it set off Max’s mania.
How bad was it?
As Maximilian Liao and his family were hurriedly departing the wedding, Max ordered his guards and servants to take all the commemorative plates that had been made celebrating the wedding, ranting that Hanse Davion had hidden clues as to which worlds would be targeted first according to the decorations on the plates.
Thank you for all your work for this series. Great work and voice, really relaxing listening to, thx
Really appreciate the work you put into these. Definitely deserves more views.
Great job man really appreciated the work on it! looking forward to the next part
Thank you for acknowlaging Union City is where Seattle is now.
I will forever stan the fact they chose it of all places to be the crown jewel of Star League.
The location is interesting to me.
Scientifically, the location is pretty bad. There's really good reasons we launch rockets into space where we do, but I imagine with BT's "shoddily advanced" technology would make those concerns obsolete. Or so I like to think.
More so than that, I live in the general area (Pacific Northwest region, Canadian prairies), so having my favorite universes centre of everything roughly 1000km away from me is kinda awesome.
As for background reasons why Puget Sound was chosen, was because IIRC, Jordan Weissman (BT's creator) was living there at the time and was familiar the the nearby region and often imagined a futuristic-fantasy castle in the Cascades.
@@Madcat529 Same reason that Shadowrun is centered on the Seattle Metroplex I believe, yes. There used to be a MASSIVE Mechwarrior diorama at the Seattle Wizards of the Coast building cause of it.
Would the capital need to launch rockets though? Its just the center of government, they got like, orbital launch facilities and stuff for that by this point.
@@KillerOrca not so much rockets as dropships. It's heavily implied every major city in Battletech has its own dedicated spaceport.
Launching from Florida happens for strong reasons, but as I said; I am assuming that those factors that keeps WE HUMANS locked to these locations are non factors for BT's humans somehow
@@Madcat529 Fair enough. Maybe its just more economical with microfusion engines and stuff. Since you know, giant walking combat robots are totally the most efficent way to conduct war.
Just found your bt lore videos, love em! Keep doing them :)
Have been looking forward to this, great work 👍
great video love how you go into the details
comstar is like a gang . love this video keep it up
Could not have done it better Myself, Keep doing what you do its an inspiration to us all, and remember At&t in space is watching "pay your bills" XD
1 hour long? You have earned yourself a subscriber sir! 😀
Thanks for the video.....f*$king Comstar
Love the lore videos keep up the good work
Great series, I truly enjoy these!!
Fantastic Breakdown mate, keep it up
Awesome work on this.
You know what would make this better? A more relevant video presentation! Don't fit me wrong, I can listen all day, but the map with where you're talking about would help keep the attention.
That's fair, but maps can be hard because they'll either be so big, zooming in on the particular places where events happen would blur the image so badly you wouldn't be able to see (I wouldn't publish a video if any part was like that), or so small or doesn't show the rest of the inner sphere to provide context.
This video in particular, the locations are not as important as the events, so that's reason #2 I didn't do maps for this one.
Fair opinion, and I do use maps when it makes sense. Otherwise, I don't really include them since again, the primary is audio, visual being secondary.
I appreciate the C&C all the same :)
Some one give this man a medal 🏅
Oh I don't know about that one, I've had some decent blunders on this journey. Just trying to be better from one video to the next.
Silly freebirths
Thanks for doing this. Sad that BT is slowly getting forgotten
Oh it's far from being forgotten. The Clan Invasion Kickstarter from Catalyst got alot of attention and CGL have been spinning out content for the past year or so with no signs of stopping. New novels, art, table top, rulebooks, source books... Everything!
Battletech is very very alive
War...war never changes
*~Aggressive ascending brass horn movement~*
Way late to this excellent overview but well done.
Great job.. 👌👌🙏

@@Madcat529 cool thanks. Love the video. Just what I was looking for.

What mod are you running? I'm guessing it's rougetech
BTA
Is there a battle tech playlist here?
On my channel you'll see it if you look. Battletech Mainline Lore
Are you still making Battletech lore video?
I plan to, yes. Things have been busy and as you have seen on the channel, I've been enjoying some other games lately. I plan on releasing another one sometime this summer.
@@Madcat529 woohoo!
i subscribed but a map with highlights would have been awsome durring this
Just so I understand, to provide a visual map of the Inner Sphere when talking about places?
I did a bit of that in IS chapter 3, but it's been hard before then because no good map with great visual quality was super accessible. That's been rectified now, and all future Lore chapters will have them to the best of my ability.
If you mean something else, my bad and I'd love to hear more about this suggestion :)
ARE THESE IN RT ORDER ON PLAYLIST/
E
I don't know what you mean by RT and Playlist/E.
In the Mainline playlist however, they are in release order as a whole package, and each "side" is ordered chronologically in-universe. You can notice the difference in naming by "Clan Volume" and "Inner Sphere Chapter".
vol low on this com t other 2 jus listened to
No volume issues on my end.
low, not leeyow, ffs.
I know someone with the same last name and they pronounce it "lee-yow".
It's up to the person to determine how it's said and I've heard WAAAAAAAY more "Lee-yow" than any other form.
No one is wrong, no one is right. Relax :)
