Hermes has to be the worst ship in the game, not just the worst carrier. I got 20k XP in and just could not stomach another game. Hermes would even struggle against tier 1 ships.
Unfortunately you have to learn to occupy those turtle torpedoes well and not waste a single one calculating the fall of the bombs well to do a decent damage or a good fire (this is achieved by aiming for a while so that the sight is focused) otherwise you will literally do the ridiculous in every game it happened to me even after 10 battles that was not half as good as with the Langley but at least I am learning as I go I just hope to get to the Furious fast and let this aircraft carrier attempt be just a bad memory 😖.
I unknowingly unlocked the Hermes to learn afterwards it was the worst aircraft carrier, and at first I thought aircraft carriers were USELESS but now I just know I'm the one who's basically useless.😂

I quite enjoy the new t5 carrier. I boosted past three because I don’t like abusing new players. But I have found it enjoyable and tend to be in the top three on the team each game. I am finding it relatively easier to hit dds with these torpedoes and the fact they arm in such a short distance many ships try to hide near islands and that is much harder against these planes. The carpet bombing is much better than American fires in my opinion. I find I set two to three fires per run. They damage con, you loiter for fifteen seconds then do a second run and set perma fires. I dunno maybe it’s just so drastically different from the other cvs that others aren’t used to it yet and that’s why there is so much complaining. Maybe it’s just not for everyone but I enjoy the furious.
I used jellicoe with tanaka and fishy as inspiration to better torpedos faster and more power hit. Also tryed with Dartige du fournet to pep up the bomb and fire chance.
Had me a 100k game in the furious max on Hermes was 49k lol so hard with a single bird. You're 100% right about striking ships on the bow an stern with the torps literally flooded a fuso to death on that 100 k game it felt so darn good kept kicking him in the bow then the stern seesaw style. Might of been a tater tot player but dang the floods felt good
Yesterday I played as much as I could the hermes and it was an awfull experiencie, in my Best Match I managed to get 28 bomb hits on a Battleship but I took only one of it's health segments, her torps are painfully slow and there's only one of them per run, i know it's a T3 carrier, but it is the WORST T3 carrier by far :/ I've been playing carriers since they were add and had a blast with them but with so many nerfs i don't know if I Will keep playing them tbh 😩
I agree and do everything you said except the vault I go with the other perk and prefer to be hidden and out of harms way. In the games I've played when the team collapses and I'm spotted the 20% reduction wouldn't save me because there is no-one left except a lone wolf (destroyer) in the En spawn 😅😅🤐
UK ease of controlling planes... I am up to T8 in UK CV line and all but Russian I have T5s. The problem is I am relatively new to the game like six months or so and I enjoy the controls on UK, I never have gotten a citadel with UK bombers so a lot less damage being done but all other nations the attacks feel wonky. Control Wise I do so much better with the simple play style and icons of UK. I dont understand why bombers os some nations have the reticule following behind my ship and the way rockets work on other nations is odd to my playstyle. It may take a lot more practice but when using other nations I feel like the gamers who could play mortal kombat or street fighter from the left side and if stuck on rights controls do horrid. Being a long time player of Everquest and other types of games, the DOT damage over time honestly helps me understand the playstyle a lot more, thanks for mentioning it. I also think that more fires would not make them OP and a few small buffs would help. Thanks

I've tried to play Hermes.God knows I've struggled to be optimistic.. But it's so bad I think I would rather gouge my eyes with hot spoons than play any of the British CV's ever again. Torpedos are too slow and too few,planes are fragile which wouldn't be bad if the ship itself wasn't a gigantic peice of lethargic garbage. And the devs know how bad they are because they introduced the two cv challenges to entice the playerbase into playing them. I was looking forward to the brit cv's but they turned out to be a massive disappointment just because Hermes put such a stink on the entire line.
@@KingdomofNefeisea With one torp per attack and a very slow in the water speed, these really take some getting used to. Well done for adapting quickly but I think most of us casual CV players will be avoiding the Hermes when it comes to rolling out a carrier. Perhaps the T5 will be an easier play-style.
@@KingdomofNefeisea as a sidenote, the implacables torpedoes feel nice because of the quick arming, even if they're slow it can work to your advantage because people oversteer into them expecting them to be quicker.

I average 100-115k per game in the furious it’s not bad but I agree that I think the others a better in all ways.
I have done some battles in the Hermes and so far the torpedo's are really really bad.... Way worse than anything else. The speed is like 24 knots...

I feel like the Torpedo Bombers on these things are the only worthy feature. I enjoyed a 50k damage 3 kill game using my torpedo bombers alone.
@@galaxspace1 I didn't think so. I enjoyed my games on the Tier III. I'm not sure about the Tier V and Tier VII.
