10 AMAZING Moroccan STREET FOODS you MUST try in MARRAKECH 🇲🇦 - DIY Food tour

- Опубликовано: 26 июн 2024
- In this week's travel vlog we went on a DIY food tour in Marrakech and tried 10 of the most amazing Moroccan street foods.
We started our Marrakech street food tour with a few different Moroccan breakfast items, such as M'semen and Amlou spread, followed with Bissara at Fine Mama Restaurant. We then headed to Café et Patisserie Nawal for a deliciously sweet date smoothie. At Chez Omar we devoured a Sandwich Mixte and next door we had a surprising cheese Briwat. At Jemaa el-Fnaa we tried Cactus fruit for the first time. A Marrakech food tour would not be complete without taste testing some olives at Marché aux olive. We were amazed by the chicken Pastilla at Koulchi Zine combining sweet and savory flavors in a way we've never tasted before. We visited Patisserie Belkabir and sampled some tasty Moroccan sweets. After eating Hout Quari, a sardine burger that tastes like meat, we ended our tour with a bonus stop at Chez Lamine Hadj Mustapha where we ate a portion of juicy lamb and the craziest dish of the day: Sheep's head!
Filmed on 27th of January 2023.

== About Us ==
We're Brandon and Anja, an international couple (from Canada and Germany) traveling the world together as digital nomads on a budget. We want to explore as many countries as possible and eat all the amazing local foods every place has to offer. We hope our travel vlogs can inspire others to do the same.
Thanks everyone for watching this week's food vlog! 🥰We hope you enjoyed it! We were definitely blown away by all the delicious food Morocco has to offer and we can't wait to go back in the future and try all the dishes we didn't get to try during this trip. In this video we did not eat Tagine or Couscous because we already ate those in our other videos. Make sure to check out our channel and watch those videos as well! 🙂 Let us know in the comments what we missed and which dishes and restaurants in Marrakech you love the most! We'll be back next week with more adventures from another country! - Brandon & Anja

İt s Amazing
This iş only street food
We are classified the second best cuisine in the World
Excellent review of the street cuisine available in Marrakech, credit to you for eating the lamb head, without doubt you guys are true street foodies!
Thanks! We are open to trying (almost) anything when traveling. It's always important to keep an open mind with food because you'll often find dishes that may sound strange, but turn out delicious!
Amazing video wauwwww
Amazing video. I enjoyed watching this. You're welcome to Morocco ❤️🇲🇦
Thank you! 😃
Chokran bazaf
Wow very nice❤
Excellent job Brandon & Anja! Thanks for this DIY food tour. You are so nice and natural couple and you present your experiences very interestingly and concisely.👍😎👏🔥
Thank you very much for the compliment! We appreciate the kind words and support. 😄
Lamb head, my favorite
We tried to order the brains with it, but they were out! 🧠

My favorite meal sardines bergers. Delicious 🎉🎉
They're so good!
Thank you for this wonderful video! I’m planning a trip to Morocco next January, and not sure what to wear/pack - so the footage of all the locals was very helpful! I’m so excited to go and try all those experiences and foods, your videos are feeding my daydreams 😍
Thank for you watching! We're glad you enjoyed them and found them helpful. We were there at the end of January, and we would definitely recommend packing at least a sweater/ hoodie or light jacket. The day was often quite nice, but it ended up getting a bit chilly at night.
We had some absolutely amazing food. That meal of tagines from our first video was our favorite though- highly recommend! 😄
Thank you for sharing this experience 🥰🇲🇦❤️ welcome
Thank you! 😃
Morocco❤🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦
Yummm msemen with amlou is sooooo good I ate it every day for breakfast mmmmm!!!
I wish we would've taken some amlou home! 🤤

It certainly was! We had some amazing food while we were there.

Welcome❤❤
You welcome everyday 👍🏻✌🏻
Thank you!
Very Nice video ! I'm from Marrakech and i'm happy to see that you enjoyed the city and the food :) !
We did! We would love to head back to Morocco one day and check out some new cities, and any dishes we missed the first time around. So many delicious things!
You are very talented to discover all city foods like that...👍
It definitely wasn't easy to find some of these foods because Google Maps wasn't the most helpful when trying to find restaurants and some places don't have English names. It was so worth it, though, because the food was soooo good! 😊
بالصحة و الراحة
Shukran! 😄
Welcome To Morroco ❤
Enjoy ✌
great video!! planning my trip and the google locations were so helpful!! thank you so much
Glad they will be of help! We saw many people take the same Morocco Street Food tour in their videos, but no one gave any proper locations. It took some time researching and exploring, but we manged to find some pretty great spots on our own. Have a great time!
@@wherearewe-yt appreciate the effort!! As i'm sure everyone who watched does. thanks again!

The greatest variety of food in the wold is Morocco
❤ from Tangier.
We will have to go to Tangier some day!
You are brave to try lamb head. My respect 👌
We will try anything at least once!
Sometimes things that seem a bit "strange" to what we're used to, end up being quite tasty!
Thanks for watching. 😃
Specialty without bread!
You'r welcome

Bellissimo video, straordinario il Marocco, e voi siete una coppia meravigliosa e intelligente siete riusciti a presentare abbastanza bene il cibo marocchino

It’s easy. You don’t like the food. Never ret it agai.
But come back.
CIA it’s the best cuisine on this planet.
Did you watch the video?..clearly we liked the food. 😆
Welcome to Casablanca
We will definitely come to Casablanca next time we're in Morocco!
welcom
besaha, try rfissa next time.
We wanted to try this! The restaurant we went to in our second video was meant to have it, but the menu that showed it on Google must have been old. 😔
Hopefully we can try next time. Thank you for the suggestion!
Not sure we could try the eyeballs, but good on your for being adventurous! 😂
Hahaha. It actually wasn't that bad. That mouthful of oily, fatty face skin was worse. Still not terrible either. We've eaten worse! We will try anything at least once. 😎
We have Moroccan baklava
But our old kitchen iş from Morocco only Morocco
W❤️W! Cheers for more awesome and incredible foodie adventures!🥂❤️✨
Thanks for watching! There will be plenty more in the future.
Si gratuie pour la santé

Good video guys, actually the sardine kefta is cuit popular and so delicious, even in owr house we prepare it, you need to tast traditional food at home, if a moroccan family invited you thats will be unique, enjoy your trip😉
We would love a Moroccan family to invite us! It was so dang good. I'm sure you can find it everywhere, but on Google, there was almost no information at all. It took us a long time to find! Haha
@@wherearewe-yt Unfortunately Im not in morocco now i would love to invit you in my home, i think they are some guides who can prepare that kind of experiences but i dont remember who..
@@wherearewe-yt This is an example of what i said

If you having sheeps eye, you have to clean the eye fist before you eating it. :D You've to take out the black eye ball and eat just the muscle around. But also seasoned in bread, cos is super fatty. Sheeps head is a delicacy.
Lil' late for that! Hahaha. I'll keep that in mind if we ever eat another one. 😜
🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼😊
Thanks for video 🍑🍒🍍🥭🍎like!
Thank you! Cheers!
@@wherearewe-yt good luck! 🍪
Sable Briowate
10:46 The Bastila of fish is not sweet so just to know , i hope you enjoyed your time in Morocco you guys are doing great
That's good to know! Hahaha. The powdered sugar on chicken was a nice surprise, but I don't know how we'd feel about it on fish. 😅
We had a great time. We're doing well! If you haven't already, you should subscribe and check out our new content, in Vienna. 😜
U should've take the eye ball out the black thing we don't eat it but generally u did great enjoy ur staying here in Morocco
I thought the black part would be hard, but it wasn't! Is there a reason people don't eat it? The eye was better than I thought for sure. I'd eat one again! Haha.
Thanks for watching. 😁I
@@wherearewe-yt We consider it not consumable but glad u enjoyed it
Thnx for sowng us amazing food from Morocco im in Amsterdam when i see you eat in jalousss haha may alla bless ya
So many delicious foods!
Thanks for watching. 😃
Sa sablée Bisara mélange de fève moulé kumain huile d'olive
You should try bastilla of fish and refissa
We would like to try both the pigeon, and fish bastilla! And rfissa is definitely something we would like to try next time. 😃
@@wherearewe-yt thank you guys you are the most lovely couple i hv ever seen ❤️
@@queenb7166 Thank you! And thanks for watching.
Do you reckon to come back to Morocco to try out other dishes?
We would like to for sure! We normally travel to multiple cities when we visit a country, but we were short on time. There is so much more of the country that we would like to see..and of course, try all of the regional dishes. 😃
Loved the food tour! The food looked great until you got to the sheep or lambs head then my stomach got queasy! The eyeball did me in but kudos to you guys for being so adventurous! Keep the videos coming! ❤️❤️
Hahaha. I figured it would! 😂
Everything else was super delicious. The head was honestly pretty decent overall! 🐑
Wael Cm to moroco
Sa le michouie des moton à mareakeche
I forgot tangia is a marrakesh dish try pls ❤
We tried three tagine, but no tangia! What is the difference? How it is cooked, or the container it is cooked in? We would love to try!
@@wherearewe-yt it is a different pot from tagine just ask for it everyone knows it over there it is very delicious
@@wherearewe-yt tanjia is coocked under ground for more than 5 to 10 hours depends on how advanced the under ground furnace is, but for tagines would be cooked over coals or open flame for 1hour:30min or two

Why all sweet for you iş baklava
It's not. But the man at the sweet shop compared some of the sweets to baklava. Thanks for watching!
Hello Anja & Brandon, watch your weight, you will both gain weigh after these meals 🤣
You are most welcome, you are both lovely.
Greetings.
Hahaha. Yes, you're right. That's why we can't do just food videos all the time. This was all done on ONE DAY, so by the end of the day we were very full. 😂
We try to balance it somewhat by only walking around the city. We walked about 15-20km each day while on Morocco. It's also a great way to see the city! 🇲🇦
You should have removed the black part of the eye ball, but anyway 😜
Hahaha. It didn't have that hard lens that some fish eyes do, so it was all good! 👁
Whhaaaat ? Msemen costs 6 dh , it’s a scam 😱😱😱😱 we buy it in morocco only at 2 dh
That’s why i hâte Marrakech people
Is 6dh so bad?? It seemed very cheap to us!
The only thing we got for close to 2dh in Marrakech was one cactus fruit.
@@wherearewe-yt I advise you to divide always by negotiation the price by 3
@@younesszouhri4955 oh for god sake *IT'S DIFFERENT FROM A CITY TO ANOTHER* ! I myself have never bought msemen at 2 Dh ever and i lived in laayoune, agadir, Nador, Selouane and Marakkech so if it's cheap in your city good for you but to call other people scummers and even hate citizens from your own country over an effing 6 Dh ... boy you're something else !
Manger et faire des sciences
IT's msemen not masmen😂
She realized after we finished filming that she said it wrong. By then it was too late. 😇🙃
Greetings..
Street food in Morocco is incredible, but you have to be very careful with sauces and salads where we see that their preservation in refrigerators is optimal.
Some diarrhea can end the holidays in a matter of minutes.
We actually lived in SE Asia for two years, where conditions can be pretty similar. So far, we've never gotten seriously sick from food during our 8 years of travel together. Fingers crossed we don't any time soon! 😵💫🤞
@@wherearewe-yt I am from Tangier (Morocco) and last year after eating fried squid in a street stall, from Al Jadida I got terrible diarrhea.
I think it was because of the sauce that accompanied them
I won't forget...
I am Moroccan and I would like to tell you that camel eyes are not edible, and if you want more laddah, add cumin and salt.
It tasted alright! Not something I would eat for pleasure, though. Haha.
@@wherearewe-yt Cheers bro
Sorry,Why do people smell food before eating .Ekk
Probably because it smells good? Why do people smell flowers?? 😂
Thank you for sharing your experience with us but what i didn't like in your video it's how you compare the Moroccan food with other countries food like turkey ... every country is different and this is the beauty of our world and if you don't know the name of the goodies just ask about that because it's not Baklava the name of everything, secondly the girl seems like so fake when she speaks and it's really boring waching her talking sorry
It's too bad you feel that way! That's what we (and many other people) do when trying new foods- you compare to other things that you've had before. If the audience has never tried Moroccan food, then it's possible they've tried the food from the region we are comparing to. The world is big and beautiful, yes, but there are many parts of the world that use similar spices, ingredients or have similar preparations.
Thanks for watching!
Welcome 🫱🏻🫲🏼
Welcom to Morrocco
Thank you! We really enjoyed ourselves.
