As an interesting piece of film history, THE KILLER SHREWS was filmed on what is now Lake Lewisville near Denton, Texas in Denton County. Gordon McClendon, a radio executive--seen in the film--shot this film and THE GIANT GILLA MONSTER here. Not exactly great cinema, but better than you'd think.
I always took my girlfriend to these movies. It was a fact that a good screaming scare movie alway resulted in success later on for some reason i could never fathom. but was sure willing to accommodate😉😉
Now this is one movie I will say, scared the hell out of me. I was home with grand parents supposed to be watching me. Lol. Anyway I was sitting in a chair in front of the tv. When one of the shrews was attacking a man, it seems like it was coming through the tv. Me and the chair, both flew backwards. Took me years to watch this movie again, and I still don't watch the whole movie. 😅😅😅
Forgive my ignorance, but this is the first time I have heard about Shrew😂 but I am impressed with the movie maker that they made a creature movie out of it👏👏
First they are short due to delays in delivery of stuff by sea....now they are self sufficient...hmmmm Ah but....one cannot eat only at night AND eat it's body weight every two hours to survive.... Seems to look like they would die the first day.

The interior house attack looks like Fiend Without A Face with cute pups and rubber shrew heads replacing extremely cool stop motion deadly brain creatures. Better than todays s**t anyway, I'll give it that.

This special effect was used much better in the 1982 Horror Film “Deadly Eyes”. Where the filmmakers there dressed up dachshunds and terriers as giant sewer rats. The costumes were much more convincing and they looked creepy when they were shown in proportion to their human victims. The only problem is they foolishly still used rubber heads, animatronics and hand puppets which kinda ruined the suspension of disbelief.
This movie scared the hell out of me as a kid. Now I'm trying to figure out how the hurricane went through so quickly.
And why the eye wasn't calm.

Really enjoyed seeing Festus from Gunsmoke here. He was a great actor in many different roles, but playing a drunk a-hole here wasn't his best.
