The Lost Missile 1958 Sci-fi B movie Classic. A group of Scientists frantically try to stop a mysterious missile from impacting the Earth. Broken Trout Movies
Made a ski buddy friend, in Switzerland, who was one of the world's top nuclear physicists; we just skied together, while he worked at CERN, Brookhaven and(!) the Max Planck Institute in Germany. He was a fun friend, and good intermediate skier.
@@dokskwyr4353Yup-Stanley Fafara, who played Whitey Whitney. The kids in the “Beaver” cast mostly steered clear of the dark side of Hollywood, but Fafara became an alcoholic and a heroin addict.
@mikethered12 such a large missile would leave a contrail from hell with that engine. The ending with plutonium in a cylinder being installed on the gantry was so completely ludicrous I had to give it to the director.
48:46 - There was a NIKE site in the San Fernando Valley at Victory Blvd. and Woodman. Every now and again they'd drill and the missiles deployed as shown here. Jeeps in next scene are M38 (Willys MC) and M38A1 (Willys MD).
This flick was cool! Lots of awesome actual footage of jets and rockets and nukes and whatnot. Storytelling was brisk, cars were cool, chicks were cute- Good Movie!
To think I was 4 when this film was released. They should have patented that radiation proof overcoat, who would have thought it could protect him just long enough.
35:33 Speakers in Ottawa: “Take shelter! Red Alert! Obey your Civil Defense Warden” *Canadians orderly comply* 43:20 Speakers in NYC: “Walk, do not run…Do not panic, it increases the danger” *😱New Yorkers run, panic, jump onto subway tracks, woman fries self on third rail* 🤦♂️
1:04:04 😮 there's a sequence of shots now: alternating "explosion" with "victims" ~ that makes me wonder if the scriptwriter(s) for "Fail-Safe" saw this montage of shots. Fail-Safe certainly looked more advanced in its editing.
Hello BT, hope all is well. Another great film, it reminds me of another one I’m sure you have had on your channel called “This Is Not A Test”. Always a pleasure BT
Welcome back! Yes Richard I had it at one time, trying to find a copy at the correct frame rate. I may upload it again. Nice to hear from you @RichardDominguezTheMagicIsReal
It always amuses me no end when I see 'Guest Stars' in the credits - Regularly they are actors that most people have never heard or seen of before! More so in rubbish productions like this one.
Wouldn’t it be cool if Donald Trump commits his Space Force to land on the Sun before this decade ends and bring back the astronauts safe? Think of all the energy we can extract from the Sun that will last for ever.
This was the very year NORAD was agreed to. Odd they would consider Britain launching missile over its own brother Canada at USA? Peiping hostile but no tech yet. But Japan, was still occupied by GHQ till 1958. Strange research for storyline. Didn’t like the ending.😢
@@markr.devereux3385 though Toronto or Montreal would be more like NYC compared to Washington D.C. Would have preferred the ending wrap up the alien origin plot, accidental or intentional? 1:42 🎉🎉 I love the roaring jet-engine-like sound of a rocket raging through the vacuum of space.
Superb! Reminds me of the Saturday matinees. Thank you, BT. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! @DeloresLandeis-kx5fu You can't beat 50s Sci-fi.
I remember my friends and I going to see these Saturday afternoon for .25 cents.

Damm good story and the archive film of post war jet firepower etc bloody brilliant!!!!
Just dawned on me no ones guarding the lexus dealerships. Or Cadillacs. Or lincolns.
Wow!! Is there anything nuclear missiles can,t fix????
Did anyone catch the acknowledgement at the beginning? I couldn't finish it because it was only on the screen for 26 seconds...
I think it was thanking the whole U.S. Military @clintscroggs65
I thought my screen was frozen . i was ready to seek out help & support 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
my counter read 30 seconds exactly. Seemed quite exacting and intentional
I thought time had paused
Love these old sci fi movies of the fifties!
It's good stuff @GeneRogers-di6cl Thank you for checking it out.
I noticed one of the kids on the bus played "Whitey", Beaver Cleaver's friend on "Leave it to Beaver".

This missile reminds me of Project Pluto. A nuclear powered cruise missile, flying around at low altitude.
@mikethered12 such a large missile would leave a contrail from hell with that engine. The ending with plutonium in a cylinder being installed on the gantry was so completely ludicrous I had to give it to the director.
Dang nice movie.
It ain't bad @jandasalovich6469 Thanks.
Jesus, this woman is a real ball buster. Run like hell !
Excellent 1950's sci fi... 🙃
Indeed! @ronalddunne3413
the special effects were shocking ( not in a good way i may add )
Saw this movie several years ago. Good movie then and still is>

R, as in Robert Loggia. O, as in Oh my, it's Robert Loggia. Etc...space, L, look, it's Robert Loggia.
Good movie. Seen it before but a good watch a second time around nevertheless.
Thanks @dokskwyr4353
Did they get the leading lady from "The 3 Stooges" set?
as a matter of fact she was cast after being seen in a floor polish commercial
Broken Trout, thank you!
You are very welcome @kevinkrochak2546
Damn what happened to Brooklyn and Harlem Black folks ? oh well we must wait for the 1965 Civil Rights Act while the missle fried us 😂😂😂😂
Damn, you read S-L-O-W!!!
41:00 “When my cousin says ‘Go go go,’ she really means ‘No no no’?” Is that a real song??? 😂
I am sorry, but I haven't a clue. @LNSmithee
Great special effects, then.
5:15.......my what a big rocket you have there!!
Great film, Thank you so much!
AKA the battle of the stock footage morphing jets!
Hi Max, I love your channel and I am also a glue trooper! @maxsmodels
By the time anything gets going the missile has been round the world a few times............
I too was 'pondering' the timings........
a missile going 4000mph seems to navigate the continent at the speed of a 'chinese balloon' !

😂 lol New York City the most realistic scene 😂
What happened to my Black folks in Brooklyn and Harlem ? Oh well it's 1958 😂
5 miles is only around 30,000 feet... (26,000)
One of my favorites back in the day. I haven't seen this movie since the early sixties.
I remember watching this movie as a kid. Scared the living daylights out of me. Still enjoy it nowadays.
50:31 😂🎉😂
"Countdown is 25 minutes to Zero."
Audience: "but there are only 20 minutes and 13 seconds of movie left!"
😂❤😂

Watching from Pennsylvania USA 🇺🇸 I love classic movie's. This is a good ❤ 🎥 movie ❤
Oh I remember this one.
"When my cousin says go go go / She really means no no ... " ?????
1:10:01 Flips off the missile 🖕🏻
It's Robert Loggia!!!!😂
Hahaha!
I just posted this question!
Sound like some Trek music there in the last 5 seconds of this film.
I'm in Ottawa I just saw my house no joke

Her Hair Style would work fine today !
She should be happy anyone wanted to marry that.

love that abomination of a drive-in flick. The cast was the oddest collection of B actors ever seen

What a dumb ending!
Learn how to read faster, Clint. Also, u can back up the video, u know.
I don’t suppose we could the missle make a couple of passes over San Francisco in Seattle?
Is that a young Robert Loggia?
yes
Is this his first movie@@bloodgrss
He played a couple of small roles in movies before this: this was his first starring role...@@gorymarty56
Yes
No, he played a couple of minor roles before this, But this WAS his first starring role...
