£10,000 on handbags isn't that bad actually. I have friends with Chanel Tote bags that was £5,900 and that's half the cost of her collection lol. 🥴
If I wanted to save up £10,000 I'd have to spend approximately 5.5 years without spending any money on anything but necessities, assuming nothing goes wrong and I need to spend money to repair it.

She’s just a frugal and financially conscious rich woman. Just listen to her unnatural deep voice and acquired American accent, and since her grandfather was an entrepreneur himself and she’s already a businesswoman whose business fully supports her at a very young age, she’s probably all about business - the old money style and mindset which she learned from her grandfather and parents. So she probably cared more to spend money in investing in different ventures and on practical things and she probably looks up to Ivanka Trump as an inspiration. 10k on a handbag collection is alright, given that she seems to even prefer to dress up like a lawyer than wearing some chic, current fashion designer clothes. She seems like a no nonsense lady and her gift to Ben is very practical and useful for him and for his self-esteem. Trying to get a driving license in the UK typically costs more than 2k so that’s a really practical and generous gift.
That isn’t skint
They live paycheck to paycheck and even then the mom had to borrow money off her kid to cover necessities. Just because they live in a clean, two-bedroom house doesn't mean they aren't skint. Them only have about five pieces of furniture in the entire house should be a major clue as to what their financial situation is currently.

I think that the narration and the way this show is edited is bad because the narrator is very rude in many episodes towards both the ‘rich kid’ and the ‘skint family’ and they cut scenes out because I don’t think that they would straight up say ‘oh mine is two times the size of this’ without someone asking first
