Sat at a table backstage at Antone's in 2011 with Eric Johnson and David Grissom for about 30 minutes. Both of them were very welcoming and I was almost speechless to be in the presence of such greatness. Unfortunately, none of it rubbed off on me, but I keep trying.
I can’t believe I’m only the 370th person to press like on this. You’re a great interviewer and got some amazing answers from an absolute legend and not only that, that performance at the end was just stunningly beautiful. Thank god Eric Johnson is so down to earth.
that was great, really great... and the song at the end absolutely beautiful and amazing quality. Like we are in the room listening!! EJ 2023 and beyond
I just saw one of Eric's shows this September. He played a lot of acoustic guitar which was a surprise. But what a diverse and interesting show. We had a great time.
Thanks for the time Eric for always being kind to me life went bye too fast.. hope to see ya again.. my oldest friend.. I learned alot from you so thank you for just being humane to me. I took up too much of your time forgive me I was spellbound..take care
In the Bible, Yaweh says he gives GIFTS to MEN, so Yaweh is the original master, original author, original shredder, lololol n of COURSE we are so happi he put you on the planet Eric, 4ever a fan..
The man who recorded the Austin City Limits version of "Trail of tears" saying he's not a master is like bread saying it don't make a sandwich.
SRV said EJ was one of his favorite guitarists and had never seen anyone work harder at being the best he could be ❤
When did SRV said this?
@@Angelo-wx7gp Before 1990... Billy Gibbons of ZZTop said pretty much the same thing.
One of my two favorite guitar players of all time!! (The other one being Allan Holdsworth)
Thank you for interview, Eric is truly one of a kind.

I have most of Eric's albums, but does anyone know the title of the acoustic performance he did at the end of the interview?
We really need more relaxed interviews like this ! Brings out something different from the greats !

I really dig this cat. Eric's one of my favorites in general.
An incredible guy and an incredible musician
this man is an absolute guitar god of the highest level
That was a great interview and an INCREDIBLE acoustic performance at the end. He could actually use that on an album.
I think Eric opened up with this song when I saw him in Napa. His acoustic set was the highlight of the show for me. Great interview!

he's a great guy
EJ has a resemblance to the great George Harrison
Speaking of that, I heard Eric at a performance years ago play "I Need You" by The Beatles. Truly amazing!!
Name of the song EJ plays at the end?
Please help, I want to know too, it is probably the most moving acoustic song I have heard him play.
It is called abelia
@@cis6mod Thanks!
That tune he played at the end was really nice!
That was illuminating... and fun! My fave guitarist! What brand of guitar was Eric playing at the end?
Does anybody know the piece of music Eric plays at the end of the interview?
Kind of sounds like his own rendition of America- Lonely people
Still waiting on Eric to write “The Book of Tone”.
What kind of guitar was he playing there at the end? I don't recognize it.
Has anyone figured out the song he was playing at the end here? Still cant find it.
I have friends who worked on his cars … they said he is a really nice guy just like he comes across here …guitarist friends say the same thing
here is Eric playing Desert Rose live on this year's Treasure Tour ruclips.net/video/8-6H5bU4UqY/видео.html

Hahaha he doesn’t consider himself a master. No way. He’s the cleanest player I’ve ever heard.
Young punk……interviews a guitar maestro WTF
Eric Johnson music is a whole style of music in its right. Just ask any of the great players who have studied and copied him relentlessly.
Yes it is! Sort of Jazz/Pop-Fusion, but he can also go all-out Blues and Rock if he wants to.
