- www.TexasGunTrust.com joined the guys at the Allison Ranch for the 2016 July 4th Independence Day Machine Gun Shoot.
These are the Minigun Sessions. Skipper had a hand held minigun! Fed by an assault backpack! He was also kind enough to allow me to video several people shooting the minigun.
The Shoot was one of the best in recent years. Great people, lots of Classic and modern machine guns. We also burned every car and van from 100 to 300 yards!
We even had an Pershing missile carrier with seats driving over the cars!

At 6:36 you can see a 40mm round impact the ground in front of a car and ricochet into the roof above the driver's seat .. .the pusher continues on into the berm!
at 6:54 you can watch a Glock 18 reaching for the sky in Slow Mo . . .
BBQ . . Doyle cooked again and he did an incredible job.

I love this country. I wasn't born in this country, I moved here legally when I was 17. Went to college on a tennis scholarship. Unlike the latest news yes I was a real athlete. Worked my ass off in college worked at Wendy's joined the Navy Reserves in college. Finished college with my Degree. Got my Citizenship and to say thanks for the privilege of being able to do all of that.I proudly served a total of 30years in the Navy.. and to be able to go to the range and shoot Miniguns priceless and thank you

They are plastic .308 bullets
they are shooting blanks, the recpil would literally slide them back. It takes a truly massive and strong person to hip fire a minigun for more than 15-20rds. Like brian shaw or eddie hall massive.

The handheld minigun is not firing blanks. It is firing 308 AKA 7.62 by 51. These are not your normal loads. These are German plastic training rounds. They send a plastic projectile down range. What these guys have found is that shooting normal full power ammunition when hand holding the minigun results in an uncontrollable situation due to the torque and recoil

upside these look cool , downside 15 seconds and your out of ammo.
It appears more stable to have one set up like from predator with the foreward grip under the barrels.
From a tactical standpoint hand held miniguns don't really make sense, as the benefit of being able to shoot 50-100 rounds per second still doesn't compensate for all that weight. They're only good for showing off at the range.

I just love it when I see people standing shooting a GAU 134! You guys are correct these are NOT real bullets' this person is shooting, this gun generated right around 400 pounds of back pressure when its being fired at even a slow rate of 3200 rpm! The only casualty EVER at the Knob Creek shoot was when a gun like this jumped out of a broken mount and unfortunately a young woman was killed when the gun hit her! Saddest day EVER at the shoot! As far as this gun ever being fired by hand for anything more than about 1/4 of a second is impossible!
a really big strong dude can do it with good footing and some practice, when I say big I mean like 250+ lbs and farmboy strong
@@semajniffirg230 Even then likely not. The recoil is so strong it will just start lifting you of the ground almost. Saw a guy try to fire it and he literally started to slide backwards on the ground while his stance was the same.

Yeah, see, there is a reason why this sort of thing isnt a thing. Its called physics. Its not a matter of 'put a brick shithouse behind it'. Its a matter of a shit ton of mass spinning up, only to then throw a shit ton of mass down range (equal and opposite reactions), oh and that doesn't include the ammo pack (much easier to carry a few hundred rnds of blanks than the same load out of FMJ) AND the battery which is the size of a car battery but 24v....so....Yeah, you cant cheat physics, and physics says, "nah bruh..."
Im not saying its not cool. It is. Even with a smaller caliber, blanks, and a lower RPM, every single lady that fired that setup now has hair on her nuts. the ones on the video uses training bullets, it is simply dumb for someone to want to carry one on hand during combat, to heavy, uses a eletric motor, cosumes bullets like crazy, you got 3 seconds of supressive fire them you are stuck with a 20KG weapon with no way to use it.
UNLESS IT IS MOUNTED TO A HELICOPTER OR A TRUCK, THE WAY THEY REALLY USE ONE

This is not the actual size, it's a smaller variant and it has lower barrel rotation. Otherwise it would blow her away, trust me.
It's definitely firing blanks. There are videos out there where people try to fire a handheld rotary machine gun with live ammunition, such as one of a handheld M134 Minigun by FullMag, and some demonstration videos of the XM556 by Empty Shell Llc, and the difference in recoil is very apparent.

Arnie, who fired the same gun used in Predator for Terminator 2, said the entire setup was almost impossible for HIM to hold. When he lit it up, you see him lurch to the side.....that wasn't acting. And he was firing blanks. There is a reason why man portable miniguns, particularly in appreciable calibers (though in fairness even 22LR at 3000rnds/min will give anyone something to think about) are not a thing.
