So sad about that black woman remark about the crack house. Your hair is TOTALLY BEAUTIFUL. Good insight about those negative comments

Deep down they want that hair too🤷🏽‍♀️ its jealousy but then they try to make themselves feel better by making dumb comments. I'm African( Nigerian) and i get mixed comments. Alot of people stare at my hair and i get alot of compliments. While some think i do not have money😆 to afford "so called damaging elaborate hairstyles" but then they always ask my friends to ask me what i use on my hair but never! to me directly😂😂😂. I have learnt to really love my hair so what other ppl think or say doesnt really bother me😂 cos deep down i know you wish it was you to😌

Loll! You're right! People can be ridiculous and jealous sometimes. Since that incident, I have gotten some compliments so things have gotten a little better since then. Wearing my hair out of braids for the first time in a long time has definitely attracted some mixed energy and comments, and the experience is teaching me more and more about being unbothered about what people think about me or say about me. I'm extremely grateful for the challenges even if I'm out of my comfort zone during those situations. Thank you for sharing your experiences with me! It encourages me, and lets me know I'm not alone in experiencing this. :)

Hiii ethrielle, just wanted to say your hair is absoutely stunning, me to i always feel anxious going out with my natural hair, afraid that people are going to judge me or say negative comments about my hair, saying that it makes you loook ugly or you look better with your hair out. But especially, those who dont want to invest the time or put in the effort to grow their natural hair, they just dont understand the time it takes to care of our 4c hair without it breaking off or getting it matted and tangled. Some people are just lazy and they just dont want to take the time to take care of their hair. You are such an inspiration to black girls with kinky 4c hair texture having the same hair type as me. Thank you so much for making this video and being able to share your thoughts. Im already a suscriber of yours and looking forward to more of your content.
Pls can you do 10 plus how to style mini braids, using hair wax on your mini braids, an updated mini braid installation video, and how exactly you reached hip length, hair reviews.
These are just some suggestions, but dont feel pressured
These are just things you could take into consideration.
Hope you have the best day etherielle and to anyone else who is reading this comment❤😊🥰
This comment feels rushed, so sorry about that but i just had so much to say

It's weird to me how we've divided people's manner of speaking across racial lines.
To me, if I hear AAVE, I read it as a dialect. It's no different from different groups of white people having different slang or accents. White people in the North, South, and Midwest have all kinds of different accents and slang- people just scrutinize black people more when it comes to the way they speak.

Agree! I love takedowns precisely so I can wear hairstyles like this. The fluff is glorious! I can't believe someone looked at her and saw anything other than beauty and glory. I see wearing your hair out as a way to help free others. I would rather people come up to me and say something, even if it's off, so in the least I can help educate people that they can grow their hair too

I absolutely love the hairstyle! I think that all curly hair is beutifull! And im so happy that i found out that my hair is slightly wavy, which for the longest time made me think its super messy, chos id brush it straight when it was wet, and it ended up looking super dry and messy, but then i realised if i let it airdry without doing anything to it itll give this light wave and it doesent end up looking so dry.
But yeah i think articulate is one to put it i think its just a different accent, some i suppose are more "posh" than others, but from my understanding the kind of acvents that black people have are just different, and they are made feel dumb because they dont use the same kinds of patterns and words that white people use. Just because something is different doesent mean that it is worce. At the same time i think that it is bad and wrong to shame someone for having that more posh accent wether they grew up with it or just like it more. Same goes the other way around, its another accent, and we shouldnt shame people for it.
The idea of people wanting to get out of the hood makes sence, as if ive understood correctly they can be very dangerous places, with alot of gang violence. One way to address it is through changing the ingroups personal attitudes towards that culture, but whenever a group gets a higher education and heightened opportunities to better their livelyhood things like the feeling of wanting to join a gang for upwards mobility lessen. Most young men join gangs vecause they feel aimless, didnt do well in school and feel like even if they did there isnt anything to get from it, or even worce getting hogher education would lead to extreme debt. So there are these systematic problems ongovernmental level that need to be adressed too in order to help the people. Overglorifying the hood will lead to the acceptance and glorification of violence too, but blaming the individuals who have been dealt bad cards, and are just trying to figure things out isnt helpfull either. Instead if telling people to move out of the hood we should try to fix it, as it may not be possible for everyone to just move out. It is also of utmost importance to try to recignise what parts of the culture are actually bad and harmfull, like, say the glorification of gangs, and what is different but harmless, like ones accent. I do believe that different cultures come with positive, negative and neutral traits. We need to bolster and share the positive traits, accept the neutral and destroy the negative.
For instance id say that the usage of slavery was one way of white culture that was very negative and i am glad it has been lessened, though it still prevails as a global issue, hidden behind third and fourth contractors that arent legally bound to inspect the full line of production of goods. It is an issue, and it is both cultural and political. The fact most westerners turn a blind eye to it, and arent up and arms about its end just shows this disregard for actual freedom. Our overconsumerist culture propagates an attitude of us deserving these lugsuries that are produced by those less fortunate than us. But once again turning this issue only the fault of the individual, without realising that there has to be a wider political movement to destroy these chains of exploitation is naive. On top of that it cant even be up to individual nations, it has to be done as a collaborated effort by all nations joining together, as these global networks are held up by all countries, and if only one changes it wont stop it.
All that said, we as indivuduals are the building blocs of society, so we need to encourage eachother to work as a collective, and yes, it starts by trying to make individual descicions that help end these issues, such as avoiding brands that are known for using slave labour, voting for politicians that talk about solutions to these issues, and joining and funding organisations that lobby and or advocate for these causes!
Ehehe this is a bit of a rant, and i apologise if ive gotten anything wrong as a northern european not as familiar with american sosioeconomical and political issues, and nor have i ever been to a hood, so i hope im not completely misinformed on that! Please correct me and give me real world examples of your personal lives if you have experience with it and would like to share!
