Do you know anyone on heroin? What is the thing that scared you the most about using it?
What scared me the most is how much money can be lost from a household due to the addiction. Some people I know that used it all the time spent lots of $ over the long run and whenever they tried to quit the dealer insisted on giving them free-bee's or extended their lines of credit all the time.
I'm on percocet, sadly. It is just evil.
my uncle used some...
The scariest thing about using heroin is the fear of what happens to you when you come off of it. It's a horrible feeling and never want to experience it ever. You honestly would rather die than go through a cold Turkey detox.
I'm a few months shy of 4 years clean thank god! But me and my ex were both addicts and the scariest thing was finding her overdosed!
Almost 2 years clean. Already bought my dream house and got engaged from living at my moms.

i find addiction to be a hard concept to grasp, i myself have never been hooked on anything, for example in college i was drinking like a fish, one night i got jaundice in my eyes after drinking a 6 pack of tall boys and a 40, ive had about 3 beers since i left school in 2 years 🤷♂️ i never have a craving for a cigarette either, i can drop anything
Have you ever watched / read the movie / book "A Scanner Darkly"?
🖤🤍
@Cloaked Well that’s good for you, but I promise that if you do anything for a long enough period of time you *will* change the way your brain processes things. Dopamine isn’t really a “feel good” neurotransmitter, it’s a reinforcement learning-mechanism that can also make you feel good. Basically all drugs of abuse affect dopamine receptors (either directly or indirectly) and dopamine is key to reinforcement learning. Even if you haven’t become addicted to something yet, if you do it enough you *will* become “addicted” at least psychologically, eventually. Every time you use a drug (even alcohol), it’s basically teaching your brain to keep using it and each time it will become harder for you to “unlearn” it.
@@cloaked2562 what is the one thing all addicts have in common? Every single one said what you said that they would never get addicted and they could stop at any time. Unfortunately I don't think you understand the sheer amount of people who have said the exact words you have, who are now either dead or deep in the throes of addiction spiraling out of control.
I’m so proud of everyone who made it out of their addiction. The human spirit is unconquerable

Isn't that the same thing we do nowadays? Just exchange one addiction for another.

My mom was a user, and she actually died of an overdose of it in 2017. She was heavily addicted since her very early twenties. She was a great woman and an amazing mother, but addiction turned her into what seemed like a complete different person. I still remember the day I was told she died like it happened yesterday (I was around 9 or 10 years old at the time yes im young). It affects me and my father to this day, it's absolutely heartbreaking that addiction changed her brain to only feel okay when she was high. I wish the best for any others with addicted family or friends, its incredibly hard to deal with for everyone involved.
I am so sorry that happened to you. I hope you have the best life you and your father
I'm sorry bro. She loved you tho. Never forget that. When you get older you will notice that there is no such thing as "adults" or "grown ups". We are all just grown children fumbling our way through this thing called life.
Yes, I can answer why your Mom was a completely different person because I'm a struggling addict. The drug gives you a false euphoria, you feel really good for a few hours, maybe 8 hrs if you lucky. Then when it wears off you go through what is called dope sickness where you start feeling really bad, agitated and all. You go from joking and clowning around with people to wanting to tear someone's head off because you feel so bad. Yes, it changes you and your brain and all because the longer you're on it, you become dependent on it. It's a wicked drug, and I don't wish it on anyone. It's very hard to get off because you stay so sick you have to keep going back to it and you spend money like crazy. You just want the hurt to stop, so, some people can run through their life savings. I'm sorry to hear about your Mom, and God bless you and your father. May she R.I.P.!
My brother relapsed 2 times but is clean now! He has a baby now and is very successful! I’m proud of him!

Oh and I took suboxone for 5 years before becoming totally clean. In the beginning I asked my doctor that even after taking suboxone I felt nothing. He smiled and said " kinda nice to feel normal again huh? ". I was confused at first but realized it had been so long I had forgotten what normal felt like. That guy was a gem. I smoked heroin once with a few 'friends'. Never again. It scared the crap out of me. Not bc i had a bad experience. the exact opposite reason, actually. I'll just say that i can completely see why it's appealing and how someone can easily become addicted. If i had done it one more time i would've thrown my life away.

Well that's what the war on drugs did, it demonized the substances and its users making everyone think of addicts as sub human, when the real issue was the poor methods of criminalization and lack of support networks
Horrible justification of Drug Use

Like Juice Wrld said ( I stop taking the drugs, now the drugs take me ) I used for 5 years and now clean for almost 5 years and I can definitely relate to what he said. You get to the point your tired of using it but can’t stop. Whom ever is using just know it is possible to stop. The chances are extremely low and it will be a fight every single day of your life but there’s nothing that feels better then to wake up and not think to yourself how am I not gonna withdraw today.
My mom was an addict for what I can only assume is years, until she was arrested when the police raided our house for identity theft. When she got back from her prison sentence a year later, she told me the most terrifying thing.
She described how the “prison” she went to was more like a 3-star hotel. She told me how the only thing that showed her how addicted she was was when she considered literally digging thru other prisoners’ feces just to get another hit. Even worse, she told me that if she had access to it, she had no doubt in her mind she would do it again.
The problem isn’t just the drugs. It’s the prison system that doesn’t rehabilitate the addicts.

Hey guys! Whoever is seeing this I wish you all the best and strength to get through what you’re going through I’ve been clean off opiates since 2015 I’ve been clean off Xanax since the beginning of 2018. And I’m in the process of detoxing from methadone. Tbh I should’ve got off at around 2017 but I got just so content and comfortable with where I was. Keep passing drug tests you don’t have to go every day so I only have to go once a month so it don’t really bother me. But you can tell myself along with a few others you can tell don’t really belong there. Because a lot of people don’t take the recovery serious they just do it not to get sick no more and they still to other drugs Xanax to boost their high…. and to be honest I was scared to get off because I didn’t know how bad it would be to detox and to be honest it’s not bad at all I don’t even feel going down the 3 mg every other week. I was just very content and not ready but I now realize that was a lie I was definitely ready but it was just too lazy.
Detox nice and slow at a comfortable right and you will be just fine.… but after that don’t be afraid to go see a therapist because you’re so drunk abuse message emotional physical well-being to where your whole balance is a little sense… even though nobody can tell on our side you can still feel it on the inside….

Never tried heroine but I've been on methadone for many, many years. I finally snapped out of it. I believe doing daily yoga for about a year helped me tremendously & so do my friends delta 8 & 9. You have to change a lot of things to stay clean & you're going to have to find a healthy replacement for the void. Some kind of faith helps too. Not saying it must be God but some sort of faith will help. Everyone is different. Take it slow. Tapering very gradually & listening to your body. I was on it heavy for 17 years & I never thought this day would come. I was simply tired of the handcuffs & was willing to do whatever I had to do to get off it. I still experienced minor withdrawals weaning slowly but I'd eat a delta 8 gummie or smoke a little delta 9 & that was enough to help me through it.
That was what worked for me & keeping my yoga routine. Everyone is different though, so find whatever works for you & don't give up. We all fall. We just have to get back up.

Switzerland did a very smart thing: When more and more people did start taking heroine, instead of preventing them from doing it (if they did so everyone would do it illegaly), they built special centers, that addicted people could come to, and there they would get controlled doses and clean syringes, to prevent even more damage happening to the people. That made it possible for the addicted ones to live a normal live again (don't remember exactly if they got clean), about 80% of them.
The pun was that you would supply free heroin to those heroin addicts who were the dealers and once they got their heroin for free there was no one dealing heroin and that was pretty much the biggest reason how Switzerland got rid of their heroin problem
Clever
Yeah but the govt dope was very weak it just enough to make you not sick but you wont get high.
This is a weak video. All the usual suspects who would be expected to hate the Swiss program now see the positive effects. With most now using government dope there were far fewer using 'on the street' and the illegal market was without consumers; thus, far fewer new customers were being introduced to the drug. Must be nice to live in a place where the political leaders act rationally with fact-based programs and a real commitment to harm reduction. Not sure how this program would work with drugs, like coke and meth, which do real harm to the body and society, but, hey, baby steps.

I am in the exact same situation.. everyday I'm scared I'm going to lose my mom, the women who raised me and birthed me. Its like seeing someone pulling a gun to her head everyday not knowing if there are any bullets in it or not. That scared terrifying feeling knowing I can lose her anyday.. and she's not a beginner no it's been 5 years a gram a day banging it... I wake up from terrifying nightmares I'm going to walk in her room and see her slump over passed away.✊🌳
Feel free to message back if you ever want to talk with someone who might and quite possibly is in the same situation as you. I know I can use the help, and positive friendship.

Thanks so much!!! This made my students understand❤
Been clean for 4 years and 10 months, I got clean with an outpatient methadone program. I kept my dose as low as possible and went to lots of counseling 🙂 I’m decreasing my methadone now; I’m hoping to be off that too soon 😊
Almost 3 years clean and going strong! ☺ to everyone who is struggling, there is hope! Never quit trying to quit and you'll get there as I have
Tell me pls how do u get this stuff? Sorry Just curious
@@KESTRAL23 nah man stay away

Krissy Kat I’m proud of you!
shouldn't be doing it in first place😂😂
That 48-72 hour thing is a myth and needs to be ignored. When you stop you will wish hope and pray for 72 hours to be the maximum time of withdrawal. But in reality it's much much longer
@Beardio physical withdrawls can last easily 1-2 weeks. Thats just for the worst of it. You can experience a whole slew of stuff im not gonna list for up to 2 months, that was the longest it physically destroyed me for
@@84superninja I've been clean for 3 months and still not all the way normal. It's much harder than 1 may think.
Sean Taylor isn’t that PAWS?
THANK YOU. I hate seeing documentaries and professionals saying you'll only be sick for 48-72 hours. the physical symptoms last at least a week... for me at least. but i didnt sleep for a couple months, a couple hours a night no matter how hard i tried. ugh.
I can usually kick it on 3-5 days.... usually 3+ very intense days of withdrawal, though. But I've known many white said 5-7 days or even a couple weeks.... I figured it was psychological, but maybe not. Takes a mighty strong Will to quit on your own, though!! But the worst one I kicked the physical symptoms in like 4 days but had MAJOR suicidal depression for like 2 more weeks while the chemicals in my brain and body returned to a normal equilibrium
1 week clean !! Proud of everyone in the comments sharing their story, very inspiring
Needed to get this paper done, thank you
6 years clean, now I have a lovely wife, two amazing children and a respectable job as a caretaker for disabled children. It's not impossible.
from bottom to absolute winner
This is wut I call change and success man u deserve the world
What is the high like ?
W
Do you remember the high you use to get? Does it makes you nervous?
When u mentioned withdrawal u forgot excessive sweating and yawning , teary eyes lucid vivid dreams due to fever , tingling feeling in ur limbs and body feels very lethargic ..yes I was an addict but I'm now 6 years sober an going strong
The insomnia & vomiting are hellish
@@amberrj. Facts!
Oh my god you just brought me back. The teary eyes yawning and having to stretch constantly were always the first symptoms I’d get while withdrawal and it was a nightmare
not the tingling 😭 that’s the worst
Restless legs or arm's too
I’m very interested in the use of psychedelics in treating addiction and other mental illnesses! I’m in school for psychology and would love to be at the forefront of that industry someday.
I started with Percs for back pain, then started using recreationally, usually on weekends.'
Progressed to where I was hooked, and needed it everyday to avoid withdrawls. The 1st time I snorted Dope, I was on another planet. I did it at work, and fell out. That's when I knew I needed help, and went to in patient rehab for 30 days.
I've been clean for 226 dats,
I watched my little brother go through this addiction... I fought and fought with him for years. I helped him out, I gave him a safe place to stay. I tried my best. He robbed me and fought me at every stage. Now he is finally clean without a worrie in the world. Well done. Except people in my small town accuse me of it. I'm totally crushed.
Ian Davison henpassed away?
what small town are you in?
Hey man just know that you did what was right to help someone you loved and no matter what anyone says you saved a life and you should be proud of yourself.

So glad I'm clean! A year and two months 🖤
Congrats! really, i(m trying to come of of it for about 2 years, now im 3 months clean with 1 relaps about a month ago, know how hard it is. But i want to get off of that BS.
so glad ive never even touched it!! And ugh but i hate smokers more since their cigarette smoke will actually diffuse over
Are you still clean? I hope so. By the way why did u tried it in the first place?
Congratulations to you!❤❤❤
Congratulations!!! So so happy for you
I just lost my best friend from an overdose Thursday. I feel betrayed he was using after he swore he didn't like it. I feel so much anger and sadness right now. We used to just drink and occasionally get alittle speed back in the day when we got to drunk. I'm clean now for years and twenty years younger than he was. Whatever he was chasing emotionally I hope he found resolution and peace with God. Rock on forever Jeff.
Extreme withdrawal for.....48-72 hours?! YEA RIGHT!! It takes a lot longer than that!! Take it from my experience. True, the first 3-5 days are the worst. But it lasts for weeks.
"After stopping use" not "how long it lasts"
Mine lasted for about 2-3 months.. the not sleeping, waking up after like 2 hrs of sleep with that restless aching back feeling. Then you’re just laying there knowing that if you got some opiate it could take that feeling away and now you’re craving it in the middle of the night. Fckn ruthless drug opiates are
drug users had to be Americans
Yeah the fatigue drags horribly.
Months and months can still get some.symptoms wayy later on in recovery as well
Prayers for all the families and friends effected by overdose
Yep
Say a prayer for my friend jesse
I’m so proud of everyone sharing their stories in the comments, whether you’ve been clean for 1 day or 10 years❤️❤️ keep going you can do it !!
Nothing can get you through addiction more than a loving family and friends, being friends with your kids and try to understand their age ❤️
Watching my Dad deal with this addiction is so hard. Growing up seeing him in and out of prison was harder. But the hardest part was seeing my step dad pass away from his addiction to It. Now I have to watch my siblings be taken to foster care because my mom has now developed the same addiction. I hate drugs and what they cause.
🙏🏾
I feel for you. But you should hate the governments who treat drug addiction like a crime and not a health issue instead of hating the drugs themselves. A lot of lives could be saved if there was regulation in place
For my dad is was mostly alcohol and cigars (he died of kidney failure and dialysis didn't really help)

WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS LASTING 72 HOURS? MINE LASTED JUST ABOUT A MONTH. THEN AFTER YOU FEEL SO TIRED AND ANXIOUS YOUR MIND BELIEVES ITS STILL IN WITHDRAWAL FOR THE NEXT MONTH OR TWO. THIS B.S. LASTS A LOOOOONG TIME! DON'T DO IT!
Exactly
Yeah must be fake, my cannabis withdrawls are like 3/4 days straight c ant even imagine that heroin shit lol!

Don't do dope, it'll fry your shit out and turn your dopamine receptors into an abyss
Get some kratom and use that for opiate withdrawals, fantastic herb.
Had a few cousins addicted to this stuff and I must say it is the most heart breaking thing to see a loved one go through what they did. They had everything and lost it over night. If you ever need help, please get it. You’re not hurting yourself but those around you as well.
Might start using after watching this !!
I must say that I'm extremely ❤proud of those who have conquered their addiction. It's like a real life miracle 🎉😊 and it should be celebrated. You have gotten a new lease on life and the progress you all have made is incredible 🙌. Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 you all deserve the accolades 👏

Been doing heroin/fentanyl on and off since 2008. Mostly on. Have overdosed and almost died at least 5 different times (always after stretches of clean time), have spent a total of 2 and a half years in jail and prison, and even more time in rehab and halfway houses. I started taking methadone last year and managed to stay clean-ish for a while. I got a job and my own apartment, got a car to get to and from work and the methadone clinic. By all appearances i live a normal life, except im actually very depressed and often contemplate suicide, and fully relapsed about 2 months ago. Now i have a methadone and fentanyl habit (fentanyl is way cheaper and stronger, and most "heroin" is actually just fentanyl these days). I want to get clean so bad, but mostly i just want to be happy. I want to start going to NA meetings and make sober friends. Im 30 now and the last 10 years of my life have been a waste. People my age have children, careers, are married. I have none of that. Just a lonely apartment that i come home to after work where i shoot up and go to sleep, and do it again the next day. My life is so sad. Barely worth even living to be honest.
Jen & Juice your worth more than this my friend just believe in yourself you can get off this shit
How about kratom
I feel you 10000% man. If you get clean it's not perfect, the depression is still there, but being clean (I still smoke weed and drink sometimes) allows you to see the real, genuine you that you remember yourself as when you were a kid, and you start realizing little by little that you're still in there. You can't get out of that hole until you stop digging, though. If you can brave your way through the torture at first (I'm sure you already know you can get through withdrawals as much as it sucks) life can get better, and you can still be happy. All is not lost. Much love man Merry Christmas
Jen & Juice stick with the methadone and just stop the fentanyl, you won’t really withdrawal since you’re taking methadone, and then get on some anti depressants bro. I take Wellbutrin, but you may require a different one, everyone’s brain chemistry is different. I’m on suboxone tho, and hear better things from it, but either one will work if you want to get off the down. You can do it!
Stop feeling sorry for yourself and other addicts. You knew the risk and did it anyway. Just plain stupid.
im scared of needles so im good my guy
