The rotational axis being smaller is an obvious theory, but how big of a difference does that translate into how it feels? They didn't give any data on the weight and size of mass removed compared to the other designs. If a Trick or ACD had a 5" diameter radius at the u-joint, then yeah, this would probably be an improvement, but is that difference on paper going to be noticeable by anyone? The issue with the pin & block universals was always the slop they had right out of the box that would just get progressively worse as they wore. Seems more like a marketing gimmick aimed at Tama fan boys that will pay double for something with the Tama name on it.
"The rotational axis being smaller is an obvious theory, but how big of a difference does that translate into how it feels?" My guess (pondered upon in another comment) is that the difference in perceive momentum will be zero. Moving those bearing a few mm inwards, while still having some outer mass in the forks and their shafts, isn't going to make a notable difference. What creates the real momentum is the beaters and cams, and there's the axles in each pedal and the spring arms. So no - I'm sure the shaft is great in itself, but not really that innovative, very late and lots of boasting with a price that's 50% more than a Trick shaft.
I am having a tough time understanding why rotational inertia of the driveshaft is important in this system, a system that includes a large mass that rotates on the end of a long rod (the beater). None of the current designs for upgraded bearing driveshafts have significant rotational inertia compared to the rotational inertia of the beater. Yeah, reducing the rotational mass helps, but it isn't significant for performance (it's like trying to improve acceleration by putting a carbon fiber hood on a full size diesel truck, it helps, but it also doesn't matter in any significant way).
