I would've concluded it differently to include the appearance vs reality theme.
In conclusion, it appears that Ettie's character comes across as a villain, whereas in reality it is a façade to hide her true nature, intentions and vulnerabilies. We can see this through her treatment of other characters, her deceptive nature and her sadistic sense of humour
