I remember people said the car was a failure. On paper, its 0-200km/h is nothing to impress compared to Rimac, Bugatti, and Koenigsegg. I knew this car is all about the track, it's an F1 car derived after all! Btw 918 only max out at 300km/h with no juice in the battery 😂. This easily 336km/h, that's MGU-K & MGU-H guys! Not the ordinary hybrid

Of course it's not a failure, it just couldn't convince me, by looking like anything than a more independent Mercedes, a bad sound design, high budget which means high price and too much HP. I'll be honest, I like SuperSports Cars more than Hypercars, but from all the Hypercar manufacturers I still find the one or other who wins me. Lamborghini Aventador SV-J, Ferrari LaFerrari, Bugatti Chiron, Pagani Huayra, Porsche 918 Sypder... Alright, it's the fastest Street car on the ring now, congratulations for that Mercedes. Good job, still I don't think it's the greatest car you've ever built just because it's the fastest now. I mean, Porsche has made it with a SuperSports Car to stay the fastest Car on the ring for almost two years. Only 300 HP less, and it's not even 10 seconds away. This is just my opinion, don't take it too serious please.
Well done AMG for posting a blistering fast lap time in the AMG ONE even in these damp conditions. This is what I call the future of driving performance
lets just say a 12-13sec gap in ideal conditions: for a power difference of over 300hp, awd, some f1 tech and the aero it has i think the gap should be bigger. look at the gap between gt3rs mr and gt2rs mr, those ~200hp difference make up around the same time. the car definitely has its flaws with weight and also shift times, so not really that outstanding after all - for the amount it costs and what its supposed to be
Lovely Mercedes AMG ONE. What I love about Mercedes they don't change anything in the interior, what you see is what you get and more importantly you never see hyper cars breaking records at a race course, all they do is go in a straight line to impress people. This is why I love Mercedes and proud to support them at all times :)
I’m a big fan of Porche but I must admit what a incredible lap, brutal acceleration. In ideal conditions will probably drop a minimum of 5-7 seconds. Congratulations 🍾 Maro & AMG

I’d love to see the battery level. The efficiency with the hybrid system is so insane, they have to dump electric torque into the gear changes, that’s why the gear changes are so slow but the car loses no acceleration.

Great Time! But gearbox seems to be slow in Upshifts compared to other Supercars and wheel travel is not enough in some corners. I think it could be faster with some work in detail

I used to like LaFerrari, but when i saw this AMG One, and what it can do - it change my mind for sure. Best lap time, combined with car desing that makes heart stops - its what works for me. The new Race King is AMG One. ❤🚗❤

Track conditions made it difficult. You can see that they couldnt go all out. Lots of coasting. Sub 6.30 if not a 6.20 is definetly possible with dry track and more agressive style. Tho youd have to comvinve the higher ups to let the driver go all out.
Now that's an epic car performance design engineering and the engine combined are just amazing how it all works together. AMG ONE is a astonishing car . It set the fastest lap on the nurburgring in damp conditions. Well done Mercedes and the driver 👍
Yeah I was wondering that as well. I assumed the shifts would be lightning fast and almost seamless but it sounds almost as slow as an old automated manual in a Aventador or something. Really odd. Still an awesome car and run though. --------- Just did some Googling, apparently it is an automated manual, rather than a dual-clutch. And they’ve probably had to increase the engine flywheel mass quite a lot to get it to idle at ~ 1300rpm, so that might slow the shifts down a bit… seems like a weird choice to me, but I’m not an AMG engineer. 🤷🏼♂️
@@bend1483 ive now seen that it has a slow gear change because they use the time to dump battery power into the motors to fill the gap, so the car is always accelerating and not over charging
That's seriously impressive especially as the track is blatantly "not ideal"! I assume a visit back when its a little drier and warmer will happen at one point soon.
Every time the accelerator is depressed, the reticle moves up! So beautiful. Eidt: Not a reticle, but something hits the camera at around four thirty-four. It moves when the car is under load.

The fact that the track is far from optimal and still did it under 6:40 is brutal
the colder the track the faster it is. thats why they waited for after the summer.

For the next run on more optimal track conditions, maybe include telemetry such as DRS, battery levels etc? That'd make it much more interesting.

Be going slow sometimes he is actually faster in the end, because he recharges then and use it at the right time later.
You cant hit apexes on the Ring too much or u gonna destroy the car. Its a rough track.

Every time the accelerator is depressed, the reticle moves up! So beautiful.
Eidt: Not a reticle, but something hits the camera at around four thirty-four. It moves when the car is under load.

Why the car shift so slow ?
Single clutch gearbox to save weight. The electric motors cover up the difference during the shifts.
