  • en.romereports.com Throughout history, many Popes have shown a special devotion to Our Lady. Pope Francis is definitely among them. The Basilica of St. Mary Major was the first site he visited the day after his election. During Sunday's Angleus, the Pope once again talked about the Virgin Mary, the patroness of Rome. .

    Mary isn't worshipped, she is venerated. There's a distinct difference between the two.

      Yes, adoration is for God, Veneration is for exemplar people. Jesus thought us to pray and ask prayers from our fellow human beings, this is how we treat also our Saints and the the Theotokos.

    I wonder what Jesus would think when people attack his beloved mother... That's why i will never understand why these protestants believe so much in attacking EVERYONE'S holy mother... More importantly their accusation of "Mary Worship" shows the amount of IGNORANCE they possess besides their HATRED for our Divine Mother... May God Guide them to the right path... May they see light in the sacraments and bring them back to our Holy Roman Catholic Church...

    You love your mother. You love your father. But you hold god and jesus above everything.

    Devotion to mary is the devotion to the belief, and faith in jesus and god. Not weird at all. I love Our Lady x ;♥

    Adoration is for God alone, it is a kind of worship recognizing God's dominion, his authority and human is helpless without God's love and grace. It is doing everything we can do to follow his will.
    Veneration is just giving honor, salutation to a person who live holy...
    When we pray the rosary we say first "In the name of the Father.." in that instance we already adore God and in adoration to God we do what is pleasing to GOD and it is loving and honoring Jesus' Mother.

    "And this one thing is certain…the Christianity of history is not Protestantism. If there ever were a safe truth, it is this. And Protestantism has ever felt it so… This is shown in the determination…of dispensing with historical Christianity altogether, and of forming a Christianity from the Bible alone: men never would have put [historical Christianity] aside, unless they had despaired of it…
    To be deep in history is to cease to be Protestant."

    "This was not spoken by way of slighting his mother, but to shew that we are never to suffer ourselves to be taken from the service of God, by any inordinate affection to our earthly parents: and that our Lord chiefly regarded in his mother, was her doing the will of his Father in heaven. It may also further allude to the reprobation of the jews, his carnal kindred, and the election of the gentiles." - Douay Rheims bible.

    My beliefs are private. Full stop! Just like politics, no ones business except my own. I am an MA educated fully practicing Roman Catholic, however, I am not stupid. Over the years, various translations have been skewered, biased, etc, however, I believe in my God, I believe in miracles, saints and angels.

    Why do you waste time to prove to ignorance when the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary to bring forth the Son and said everyone will call her blessed without her would be no Son if you love your mother you would love His mother whom He loves very much and walks hand in hand with her tell the people to throw away the pictures of there assume love ones and here there reactions.remember king James was the one who change the bible to suit himself

    Mary is by catholic faith assumed to heaven body and soul. Jesus brought Lazarus back to life, Elijah assumed to heaven why not the Mother of the Lord who is God the Son? if you believe God is Almighty, Powerful and Boundless of Grace why would you question Catholic faith about Mary.

    Sola Scriptura is unbiblical.
    Plus, it's not Mary worship, its veneration.

      You sound as though you have a FASCINATION with the Catholic Faith.Why don't you LEARNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN about it instead of dogging it? You must be young.You sound very childish and immature.Talk to a priest.He'll tell you all you want to know about the Faith.

      Catholics and orthodox Christians call her our lady because Christ gave her to St. John the apostle as a mother. Believers of the apostolic faith believed that we inherit what even Christ gave to the apostles. So Mary is Our Lady and mother, we inherited Her from Jesus by his Human nature and by the Apostles as our source of patrimony.

      Oh shut up! Good grief,without the Western Roman Catholic Church-you PROTESTants have NO HISTORY-except what very little you even know about from the 16th Century so go back to your DESECTED bible and enjoy living in half of a Christian church! Go on.

    If the catholic church gave us the bible, then why does the church not follow what the bible says? If anyone would be faithful to the words of the bible, I would think that it would be the people who you claim to have given it to us.

    • @voltfields3900
      @voltfields3900 5 лет назад +2

      There are bad people in any organization, but there are exemplars in the church. Why dont you read the stories of catholic and orthodox Christians Saint? You will know that these men and women from church history are a lot more morally and spiritual biblical than any prosperity gospel preacher you know at present.

    "the largest this, the largest that" What does that prove? Nothing.
    We are talking about where our authority comes from (Bible or the RCC)
    Regarding inspired books: One could easily use a "Catholic Bible" to point out the ways in which the Catholic system contradicts the Bible. If Catholics put the Bible together (which I do not believe, but for the sake of the discussion we'll say that they did), then shouldn't the Catholic church, more so than anyone else, follow what the Bible says?

      Jesus was devoted to his mother just as we should be devoted to our mother. If Jesus was devoted to his mother then we should similarly have devotion to her and this is why in Luke’s Gospel Mary said “ All generations will call me Blessed”. If you do not refer to her as truly blessed then you are not following this in the Bible and you’re lacking devotion to her. Thus to call it weird is contrary to the Bible.

    the catholic church did not write every book in the bible. sure they most likely added some of their own stuff and what not but the authors are in the bible, you're not fooling anyone xD

    • @frchrisheffernan
      @frchrisheffernan 4 года назад +1

      True that Catholics did not write books of the Bible. Fact is they wrote the minority of the Bible. This is because most of the books of the Bible are the old Testament which is before the Catholic Church existed so it was written by Israelites (Hebrews).
