I see alot of people saying that the characters are the same as in Chinese, that's because it *IS* Chinese. Japanese has three alphabets 2 of them (hiragana and katakana) were created by Japanese people and 1 of them (kanji) which is Chinese characters. They just renamed it to kanji and some of the characters might be the same but have a different pronounciation and meaning. Japanese people also use Chinese characters for everyday words.
Well Japan has their own Kanji characters that don’t exist in Chinese too. Those are called 和製漢字 (わせいかんじ). But Yes, historically, it was adopted from China.
@@TeddyB3ARGaming Yeah, I realised a lot of kanji for different fish species don’t exist in chinese, only in japanese. Maybe its bcos japanese people live on an island

Also, 口 can mean enclosure or opening as well. The reason why the mouth uses that word is because it is the opening where the food enters your stomach via the esophagus before digestion.

Soooo True
True. Kanji is literally Kan(漢) + Ji(字) . Kan means Chinese. And Ji means character. So it's literally called Chinese Characters.
Well Japan has their own Kanji characters that don’t exist in Chinese too. Those are called 和製漢字 (わせいかんじ).
