Monsoon season is mid-June until the end of September. Monsoon refers to the change in wind direction meaning we get humidity that comes from the south during summer. In the winter the moisture comes from the west. In the summer it gets very humid and thunderstorms build throughout the day but there are more days without rain than there are days with rain. Some summers we get very little rain but it’s really humid during the day. Sometimes you’ll get 3.5 inches of rain in less than an hour and sometimes you’ll only get 3.5 inches of rain all summer long. Sometimes you’ll see it rain all around you but at your house you get no rain. It’s a really crazy time during monsoon season.
@@kimfluck6558 Ok thanks for explaining that,,im from the midwest so i was kind of curious about your weather patterns,,but you only get summer humidity though after the monsoons roll in right? i noticed a couple people comment that its mostly a dry heat with little humidity until monsoons come and they bring some humidity otherwise the heat is somewhat tolerable...
@ yes. The weather here is unique. We technically have five seasons. Fall, winter, spring, dry summer and wet summer. Before the monsoons come, it gets super hot and super dry. Like when you walk out the door, it feels like you walked right into a huge pizza oven. When the monsoons come, it’s so humid and hot. Like 4:30 am you get up early so you can walk the dogs before it gets too hot but it’s already 85 degrees and 85 percent humidity.
