I didn’t think I was intimidating. 🤔 He just needs a bit more practice. In light of the snow and the "not so great" tires on the vehicle, he did well for his first lesson. And keep in mind, he'd only met me 5 minutes before we jumped in the car. I'm sure it was a little odd with all the cameras. Rest assured, he’ll be zooming up and down the road in no time. Thank you Rick! I passed my class 7 road test today in Surrey BC on my first try! Your videos and advice played a big part.
What really made a huge difference for me versus a few friends and family that seem to struggle and keep failing is that I made sure to practice practice practice, especially leading up to the test I got in atleast one hour of practice a day everyday for the 3 weeks up to my test.
Today it all paid off, and damn it feels great.

In the state of Massachusetts the only reverse parking maneuver they teach is parallel they don't teach reverse parking in a perpendicular parking space.

What does the road sign with a T, crosswalk, and bike mean? I’ve never seen it
It's a shared bike and walking path that intersects with a road my friend. They like their warning signs here in Western Canada. All the best, Cheers Rick
Sir, I have a question...sometimes I deal with students who struggle a lot with steering wheel. During turns, they double turn and then to recover, they double turn the opposite way too..due to their anxiety. Any suggestion? Is there any technical way I can use to explain them how not to turn double while turning. I have explained them in several ways, like I placed a sticker on top of the steering wheel indicating them that thats where the steering wheel is straight. I also told them (when the car is parked and secured) to practice and check the position of the steering wheel by turning all the way to one side and then turning two times the opposite way would make the wheel straight...BUT they some of them still struggle. Any suggestion? Like here, in this video, your student did the same mistake while turning @ 1:40, he tried recovering the steering wheel by himself instead of sliding. Some of my students exaggerate to recover :)) As a result, we wiggle on the road or sometimes we go into the on coming direction. I quickly tackle the situation but I want them to to learn you know...any suggestion please?
Hi Fortnite Info - when that happens my friend take the student back to the parking lot to re-visit the fundamentals. This is what I did with Gavin. I’ve been teaching my son. How should I help my son, he occasionally goes in at he lane next to him without realizing it therefore he doesn’t look and doesn’t use signal. Do you have any advice??
Should I tell him to change lanes more often in order to develop a stronger habit of checking mirrors and using signals?
Hi Terri Gib - work at one thing at a time my friend. Do one or two lessons where you're just focusing on signalling. Work on another lesson where you're just working on lane positioning. And then another on just lane changes. In this lesson I worked on a lot of things, but it was really an first lesson and I was assessing Gavin's driving ability, and his ability to take on new information. Hi THETGE - nope- won't do that my friend. It's simply NOT safe. There's too much going on and you need to be turning your head, checking your wing mirrors and your backup camera (if you have one) and scanning the area for other road users. Your wipers need to be replaced, there should not be streaks on the windshield. The wipers should clear all the water off the windshield every time they move.

You should never tell people it’s okay to speed. That’s how accidents happen and people die. You should always promote safety and life of all drivers especially new drivers because if a new driver says Rick told me it was okay to speed and they crash and die, their family is not going to be happy with you. Always do the smart thing which is go slow and don’t speed. Obey the laws of the road and the limits at all times. God bless brother.
