    Whenever I look at agricultural technologies, I always wonder whether I can apply them effectively to some mountain property in Colorado, and then bam, not even a minute into the video I get my answer.

    What are the Cost of those Polycarbonate Panels?

    How well do these perform in the desert southwest such as Phoenix? We have summer temps that can reach 118 and does not cool down below the 90's at night. I'd love to have one but I'm afraid the plants would burn up even with a fan and water misting. Do you have any clients currently in the Phoenix area?

      Hello Michelle,
      The Growing Dome will perform in a hot climate, such as Phoenix, but be aware that all greenhouses are designed to trap heat. With that said, you will need lots of ventilation, air movement, and either an air conditioning unit or a swamp cooler. We do have customers in the phoenix area.

    I love this. Is it possible to put a trailer or yurt inside for year round growing and passive heat?

    • @GrowingSpacesGreenhouses
      @GrowingSpacesGreenhouses  5 лет назад +5

      Is it possible to put a trailer or yurt inside of the Growing Dome? Yes, it would be possible, but it is not recommended. Never do we suggest living inside a Growing Dome, even if it is within an enclosed structure inside the greenhouse. Humans and plants have very different environmental needs. The yurt or trailer would likely overheat and not be a comfortable place to be.

    How did you attach the reflective insulation to the greenhouse?

  • @o.soelvmose

    Could you do this for commercial plant growing or are regular greenhouse structures preferred here?
    I own a production company. - We mainly produce flower pots like begonia, petunia and so on, for the nurseries in our area.
    We are looking to expand and struggle to figure out what our most effective options are.

      Hello Oliver, the largest dome that Growing Spaces manufactures is 42' in diameter. It is possible to connect multiple 42' domes together by adding an extra door. Feel free to visit our website and request a quote if you would like some more information: growingspaces.com/

      @@GrowingSpacesGreenhouses OK. I wasn’t looking to get a quote from you. We’re located in Denmark - so probably not in your service area - plus we prefer to use local builders to support/give back to our community.
      My question was mainly to acquire knowledge- but if you don’t know what structure is most effective and optimal for commercial production, that’s totally ok we don’t either👍

    • @GrowingSpacesGreenhouses
      @GrowingSpacesGreenhouses  3 года назад +1

      Hello Oliver,
      There are a lot of factors that would play into that, I would think. A dome greenhouse might not be suitable for your application, since there would likely be a lot of wasted vertical space. You can hang pots from the struts, but it makes more sense to have all your plants accessible from the ground level if you are simply going to start the plants in pots and sell them to local nurseries. A 16' 6" tall ceiling wouldn't really do you any good.

    • @GrowingSpacesGreenhouses
      @GrowingSpacesGreenhouses  2 года назад

      Growing Domes are made of #1 Select Douglas Fir struts that have been dipped in a non-toxic wood treatment called LifeTime® that keeps away moisture, resists mold, and prevents rot. The greenhouses themselves have been known to last over 30 years.
