I replaced the Velcro on mine for very tiny miniature magnets, and it works and holds way better than the crappy Velcro that comes with it! Great video!👌😎👍
The battery pack in my scx6 is bigger lol 😆. Pretty cool though. Your right about the body. Needs some proper paint. Almost has a transparent look on video. Could be really cool with some detailing!
I feel like it would be more comparable to the carisma 1/24. Considering the Velcro and the smaller motor…this body is way better than carisma’s lexan/nowindows but is it 50$ better??
It didnt seem worth $170 but with extra motor seems like a decent price. Id love to see a SCX 24 shoot out with it. Also looks like the mirrors are not going to last but that’s pretty typical of scale crawlers. I just broke both mirrors off my Coyote 2. 1 but that just means you were out having fun so no worries. Also I think if you custom painted it it would look better. I’m guessing it will have a following of upgrades just like the SCX 24. Especially being a RC4WD. Always enjoy the reviews.👍
I haven't seen any of these reviews mention the chassis mounted steering. Seems like a big pro at least compared to the SCX24 and a lot of other small scale rigs.
Nah, with those flimsy plastic links there will be a lot of movement between the servo and chassis, also panhard mount flexing. consider the bump steer too.
Great review as always Frances!! Unfortunately in my opinion & from what it looks like, many other opinions, this is a complete Fail!! This is a $50 to $60 dollar truck on the high side. I would be Extremely Embarrassed if I were RC4WD, (That's why I'm stumped they let this out) I guess that's what you get if you Hire say school teachers to rebuild your transmission!! Epic Fail 👎🏼
You're missing that point of this truck. It's actually a full size vehicle shrunk with that gun from Honey I Shrunk the Kids. So actually it's good value.
@@shrimperlincs3395 no, its horrible for its value. It is on par with $60 chinese knock off RCs. RC4WD is trying to make a quick buck. If you want a more scaled toyota wpl c24km kit is where its at. two speed, drag brake, headlights, metal driveshaft, axles, axle housings, gears, knuckles, etc. This has next to no thought put into it. I wonder what they were thinking when they slapped the Velcro on there just to see it thru the body lol
As an owner of an SCX24, this truck is more trail suited, not so much for extreme crawling. They went for more of a realistic look (it's RC4WD afterall), and for the true hobbiest who likes to paint bodies like plastic model kits, this is a great realistic body. The price is on the higher side, but still cheaper than Kyosho's Z. My order is placed and it will be a fun project.
When you get this small, what really is a trail? Paved surfaces? All this thing seems to do is have uncontrollable throttle response (either you're not moving or it's full boat) and the unrealistic bouncing is terrible.
This criticism goes for RC4WD's 1/10 TF2 Mojave series too. The square headlights DO NOT look like those found on the 1983 Toyota Pickup. They look too flat and one piece, while the real thing has a slight convex shape and is surrounded by a bezel. RC4WD knows how to make realistic headlights: look at their 4runner or Back to the Future truck. Maybe they didn't want to rip off Tamiya completely? On my 1/10 I swapped out the stock grill for a Tamiya Hilux grill assembly to get the rounded headlights. But I don't think there's an option to swap out the headlights on the 1/24 series.
Great video as usual Francis. Do you have any plans for a “mini” crawler shootout in the near future? Something that would include 1/18, 1/24, and the like, would be a great video for someone considering a few of these models!
I'd get one if it was around $70 cheaper. After getting an SCX24 and watching reviews for othet mini trucks, I dont see why it is $170+... it does look kinda pretty though. Btw how much of a difference is there between the two motors. It seems that it cant go very slow either
Really! Why spend this much to have to upgrade the motor as a first step? Everything else looks like it sucks too.. Super unfortunate as I like it for it's scale realism. Just not worth it!
So cute. I want my daughter to play with it. It is small in size, but the performance is excellent. The shock setting is good and the tires are also decent. This is a decent mini rock crawling rc. I enjoyed watching it. thank you.😄😄😄👍
I do think it's cool but a little over priced in my opinion. Even though it would've performed less,I would have loved to see this with a leaf spring set up like it's bigger brother, lol. Hopefully rc4wd will make a conversion kit for it which would be cool. But I'm still gonna pass this 1.........well for now,lol
Looks like a compromise between scx24 and Kyosho. First impression that it's not so useful or rugged like scx but not so nice detailed like Kyosho. If on scx I haven't questions to lexan body, it's looks quite logical for crawler and for Kyosho with his fantastic detailed body and and very tiny and presaize suspension also no questions. Here with non painted body on Velcro.... Hmm first looks like WPL
Was the shocks damped or not? Was kinda hoping u would compare it to an scx24 c10 more. Honestly, For $50 more it didn’t seem even close to worth it but I guess we will see. 🤔🤔🤔. Always like competition tho. 👍
@@RCReviewChannel u can get some aftermarket from hot racing. Have them on my c10 and they seem decent with no leakage after a few months. That’s a win I guess. Lol

No comparison at all, it shouldnt even be mentioned in the same sentence as an scx24 honestly. its kinda sad because RC4WD could of knocked this outta the park but they decided to build a $50 dollar truck & then charge $170.00 for it!! The can keep it
This is on sale at my local hobby shop for $149.99 CAD. is it worth it..? Does it have as good of electronics as the fcx24? Edit.. nevermind. After watching 2 review videos I think I'll pass. I really love the body though.
So i probably blew through $400 getting a mini-z 4runner body working on a scale chassis (cause kyosho put it on monster truck suspension) and rc4wd puts this out... FML and wallet.
Save your money this is not worth the asking price. It's more of a 1/32 scale but it's way smaller than any 1/24 scale I have. I don't know just for the price you can get a lot better. Just very disappointed especially for RC four-wheel drive
From the videos the hard body looks quite translucent, making it look like something from WL Toys. Maybe they should back spray it with black. With "non-standard" size tires, RC4WD should have contracted ProLine for Hyrax as OEM. Those two upgrades would make the price more agreeable.
@@bcochener in my opinion, RC4wd has all the resources they need to AT LEAST make this thing LOOK good. The person @ RC4wd who pulled the trigger on this / gave the final thumbs up- should be publicly executed on a SBG/Harley Designs live stream takeover. Joking 🙄

Axial for the win.
People are forgetting the fact that this is a scale trail truck not a crawler. It’s in a different class from the scx24 so stop comparing the two
