Hi Kevin - my son Ollie (5 yrs) wants me to pass on to you that he loves your channel. he is learning so much about RC cars and would spend hours watching your videos (if I let him). he calls you 'tumble wumble' - well, we all do. thanks for having such a fun channel. More power to you! - Mel
Yeah you love him watching Kev until he shoots it thru the front window trying to jump the house or the car or something else stupid lol. Most people cant afford all the parts he adds and don't drive their stuff so hard. Wait til your kid wants you to order all those M2C upgrades for him. LMAO
3:02 The spreading plyers work but I've always found that the right size flat head screwdriver works perfectly, stick it between the area you want to spreed and twist it it will open it right up and it will hang there by its self freeing up both hands making it much easier to put the part in place.
For dual batteries, use a strong velcro tape on each battery to velcro them together, and use them on all your dual battery setups. It will keep them together like a block. Then weak straps/loose trays are less of a problem! 💪🏼
i know that you dont like the rustler 4x4, but I modded mine to the point where its almost like a sledge. It is INSANE with the tires that come with the sledge. standing backflip on stock gearing, power system and 3s. I recommend it!
Love it!! Kevin. Thanks for bashing the living crap out of these toys!!! It’s good to see and hear you laugh as your having fun with these adult toys. Keep bashing. Keep sending!! Keep posting!! Thanks for being you!!! 👍👍👍👍🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🤜🤛
Hey Kevin, I would just grab some extremely strong industrial strength stick on Velcro Strips and use them in between the Tray and the Battery as well as both Batteries too. Then either use the strap you have already, a Stainless Steel Cable Tie, or a thin Webbing Strap Dog Collar to wrap around the whole thing width ways… not length. The last option is to grab some waterproof Foam and cut it to the shape of the Battery Tray. Do a few sheets to place one between the Tray and the Battery, between both Batteries, and then the last on top of the Batteries. Use the Velcro Strap as you had it before, but also grab a second one to wrap width ways under the Tray and over the Battery Stack. Stay Safe!… Stay Well!… Stay Positive! Stewart
I fitted the m2c pistons on the gtx shocks for my maxx, and it has completely changed the way it absorbs not only big landings but through the whoops and burmss
A buddy of mine 3D printed a 4-link setup for the rear axle, and runs a 5200KV motor on 2S, is quite bonkers. But rather stable for a Lunchbox with that kind of power 😄
to stop it from bottoming out, stiffer springs kevin......the dampers just reduce the spring bounce.....because you're so hard core, I'd get some longer springs and make variable rate....open coils at the bottom then tighter at the top. How you mod them is compress half the spring, then heat it up, the spring steel will keep the "memory".
The thing about those shock caps is you can set the rebound while bleeding. Try that. I run them with the pistons on my Kraton and just the shock caps on my TLR Typhon. They are nice!
For the battery tray, you could extend each side with metal plates then you can get the perfect height. You could rivet or screw the plates, if riveting 'sandwich' the plastic between two metal plates. I used 'sandwiching' on my arrma front bumper, no issues at all
For the batteries, put a strip of the prickly side of velcro on both batteries where they meet. They will lock solidly together as long as you keep them strapped tightly down onto each other.
Do us all a big favor and build your own giant rc car like almost completely machined , made or fit together all by you. You can do it! Something that takes a small trailer or truck bed to haul .
Those upgrades for shocks are metal top not plastic and oil filled plus got to ask were do you get all the cars and spare parts and all new upgrades also you more worried about the battery strap when it's all weight on the one side if you fitted the battery's both sides or match the weight then the cars will fly and land better but then you just abuse all your cars bit of sad thing why you break and not to test the parts you just break and wreak cars that us people can't afford so can't you do something good for change give or raffle of all the broken cars and trucks how you get all brand new stuff delivered who pays if its sponsored then wow least get Kevin to Test all parts
Like it how Kev just casually throws an additional $500 in parts on a car like no biggie….meanwhile the rest of us are ordering shit off Amazon hoping our wives don’t see the charges for our 1 car 🤣🤷♂️
@6:19 either get the bottom box and attach it upside down through the strap to hold the battery in, or 3d print a tall rectangle shield on either side and makes the battery box taller. Make sure that you can bolt it into the side of the bottom box with flush flat cap screws so the bottom battery still fits regularly.
Just had a thought about the battery box and I think you could get away with 3d printing it. That way you could make it whatever size you wanted. There are lots of easy to use design software and the prints should be strong enough if you made it solid. PLA or PETG would probably be strong enough but there is also carbon fibre infused PLA and PETG.
Mate the way you just destroy these cars and fix them again I’ll never get used to it 🤣 to have ONE of these cars is so out of my reach it’s crazy to watch what you do. But very Damn entertaining! Hoping to catch you in GAME OVER at the next show buddy 🙌🙌
Get a dremel. You can make modifications like fitting the strap way easier. ALSO You might be able to attach two straps to the side wall of the battery tray by cutting a small slot with a rectangle and looping the velcro strap under that blue aluminum support
for bashing, maybe there could be a stronger design chassis that wont bend as easily. The best way to have parts not bend or break is to have the vehichle as light as possible. For somethings in compression, carbon would be great, but for things in tension, titanium would be great. You just need to keep in mind the galvanic corrosion between it and aluminum.
Instead of one long strap going lengthwise down the battery tray I just ran 3 smaller straps going the other way. Just screw the battery tray down over top of them to hold them in place. It's worked wonders on my sledge:)
Hey kev! Been watching for years and i love every post. Keep it up! You inspired me for my YT channel and I have some RC posts and i hope to post more. Love you man!
It seems that Max is now the king of destruction. It's good that you clear out when zombies arrive, then Karen from the other video has no reason to complain.
I ran two Velcro straps under the battery tray to hold them in side to side. You may have to Dremel out some channels on the underside to get the tray to sit flush.
Classic stuff mate. Just thought if you use flathead screwdriver in slot for bottom balljoints of shock and use to leverage by levering or rotating to create bit more space. Avagud1 mate

mount the lower rod end first, you can move the damper as a joystick to bring the ball in position, then mount the upper end of the damper, very simple.
Put the strap under the battery box and sideways instead of lengthwise. Can always ask a local metal sheet worker to cut and bend a custom box if needed

Very clever idea
Yea but the flat head can break it over time if used wrong

I was gonna say just tape the batteries together but the velcro is probably a better idea
Zip ties 😉
FWOOORRR.... NICE NEW MERCH KEV!!! AWSOME ✌️ 😄 🤟 😃

strap both batteries together and run the upper strap beneath the secondary strap on the upper battery.

Hey Kev use a second strap like ARRMA does with the fireteam. It will hold the battery vertically and horizontally.
I fitted the m2c pistons on the gtx shocks for my maxx, and it has completely changed the way it absorbs not only big landings but through the whoops and burmss
Yeah the m2c shocks on my kraton stop it bouncing after a big landing as it often flipped over after a perfect landing when it bouced back up
Wow!!! how insane is that sledge on 8S!!!! What a great bash!! thanks for punishing the parts!!!
thanks for epic parts bro and keeping us bashing!!
I'd love to see what insanity Kev would commit to a Tamiya Lunchbox kit
A buddy of mine 3D printed a 4-link setup for the rear axle, and runs a 5200KV motor on 2S, is quite bonkers. But rather stable for a Lunchbox with that kind of power 😄

@@goobles64 not sure, but I think a 540 brushed motor of some kind.

Kev, you should look into a 3d printer to print out parts like a custom battery tray to fit those 8s LiPos
I agree
I know they're not exactly bashed, but there are RC planes being 3d printed these days.
3D printed stuff is usually way to flexible or way to brittle

Kevin's got more Catchphrases than Roy Walker... love it
I swear Kevin loves breaking these cars!
At least we get to hang out and waffle while he fixes them
i love how at 9:26 in the subtitles the sledge said "thank you"
one solution for the battery tray would be 3d printing a new one because i doubt that many places make them.
I think max brings out Kevin's inner Stimpy!!
Видео классные,использует все возможности модели и даже больше,желаю удачи каналу👍.Всегда смотрю с улыбкой 😁
If you get another strap you can put it coming from the sid of the batteries and it will keep them supported from the sids and both ends.
I feel like Kevin is the real life Sid from Toy Story.
Yeah

The only solution is to adopt the Mclaren approach: machine everything out of titanium, except for the bits you need to make out of carbon fibre
Kev, just use the battery tray out of the Mojave / Fireteam. I haven't tried it yet but I have to assume it would work really well.
For the battery tray, you can try plastic welding another battery tray with the bottom removed, onto the one in the car.
