You made me smile when you said, “crack on”. It made me think of Billy Petherick from The Pethericks channel. Taking the paint off the beams in the rental would be wonderful, but with your time restraint, I can see why you would put it off for the future. I am sincere when I comment about on other Chateau restoration channels when I say, “I envy you”. Watching you sitting in middle of the two windows, which I love, with the sun coming thru the curtains, I can only let out a big sigh. I know it’s a lot of work for you, but the ending result has to be so gratifying. I would love to watch you “restore” the bed crown, make the curtains when the time comes. Hope you get more volunteers and are you going to introduce them to us if they give their permission? See you next time.
Hi there MamaBear. Hope all is well. I got the crack on from Terry Escape to the dream. Love the brits! I took the plaster off the headers where it cam off easily and it looks really good. We love the results and that keeps us motivated. Definitely going to document the restoration of the bed crown. Can’t wait to start that. My moms cousin is coming next week and Angela will be back in October. It helps a lot! And we will include them more, if they allow it. Hugs and thank you. 💖🥰💖
You guys should talk to a Philip from Lalande he seems to have luck finding old pictures and postcards for others that own Château’s. Put him to the task and I’m so sure he wouldn’t let you down, he seems to have a great ability for finding them!
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 I really don’t think Philip would consider it an imposition, he really seems to enjoy finding all the pictures like a treasure hunt.
The bedcrown is lovely. It's going to be stunning over a bed. Great find. I'm excited about the attic window restoration. It will make a big difference to the facade. Continued success!

Hi there Edward. What a wonderful comment. Thank you so much. 💕💗💕. I can relate. Learning while entertained is great. That we can accomplish that is a huge compliment. Hugs from Colombe. 🤩
Patrick, at a whopping 4'10", I am very envious of your reach with a paintbrush! The rendition of the chateau with 3 its dormers restored looks so "right" and obvious. So much fun following along as you rediscover its history. The bed crown is lovely. When you take apart the ruching I think you will find that it is quite simple to replicate. The "knob" of material in the middle is a creative solution to turn a problem (excess material) into a virtue.
Hey Elizabeth. 🤣. Yes, I have the reach. But I also bang my head on multiple door frames and sometimes severely……. That’s when I envy you! 😘. 3 dormers it is! Totally right for the chateau. Found something amazing again today! I will figure it out, I always do, and love it! Ruching will be my new passion 🤣🤣🤣🤣. But seriously, until you commented, I had no ideas that the center is access fabric. Love it. Thank you so much. Hugs. 🥰
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 Well, that's my guess about the knob of fabric but I'll be interested to know what you find. I have ruched one bed canopy. Keep careful track of the lines of gathering thread so you can recreate it.

The gîte is turning out very well (what a huge amount of work, respect!) and yes, I would strip the beams to their original state too. Bringing back the two dormers on the château, FABULOUS! Now that's respect for heritage!!! Glad you both recovered 🙏🙏!
What a lovely comment. Thank you so much Robert. We have finally some rain. 👍🏻. Good d y to sew curtains for us. Last room was plastered and I started sanding the walls. The dormes will make a subtle but big difference. Some viewers suggested to just drywall over everything……. In n’y case. Hugs to you 😘💕😘
So sorry you guys have had a “bug”. All better I hope! Such interesting stories about the dormers. What a difference and how right it looks when you superimpose the Chateau with the three dormers! The kitchen really took on a different look with the paint job and love the two new chairs not to mention the bed crown! I love how you two laugh together! Warm thoughts and hugs. Carolyn. USA
Hi Carolyn. We are better, thank you. The chateau does look better with 3 dormers. I was just joking. Now we need to find antique dormers……. And I need to build and cover them. Great project. The crown is just cute. Love that thing. Can’t wait to restore it and get it up with curtains attached. 👍🏻😘👍🏻

Hello love! Glad you were here. We very much enjoyed having you here. Glad they liked the jam. 😘. Enjoy the rest of your travels and keep up your spirit. You are an amazing lady! Huge from all of us. 🥰😘🥰
You are so entertaining, just love your humour, the ciel de lit new ruching fabric "to go wherever it is going fabric" had me in stitches. What a shame you don't have a table to protect with the new cover you have!! Just love it.
I used to paint a lot for a stager, and my personal. The only time i took the stick off was for a hallway and only the parts i couldn't manage. I still have the telescoping one and it's a gem to slide at will the length you need. I highly recommend Behr Marquee paint if available over there. It has primer in it and truly is one coat coverage which saves a load of time so the extra dollars is worth it. It will cover over light or dark paint. But wouldn't recommend on a wallpaper until you Kilz it to be sure no bleed through of pattern. Y'all are speedy. Oh and quality "blue" painter's masking tape a must. Just my tips even though I know y'all have painted plenty before. Lookin good.
Love the bed crown. Maybe you could get a volunteer who sews, and can make the curtains for you? 1 job delegated. Your volunteer did an amazing job of clearing up the shrubbery. What a busy week.
Hi Susanne. We’d love a volunteer for the curtains. Many curtains at that. 🙄🤣🙄. Jennifer was such a joy to have and she did such a great job. What a help! This week is just as busy minus Jennifer. 😳🥰. Hugs from Colombe.
Montreal? Very nice! Hope for fun. How are you doing? Thank you. Ordered toile for the small farmhouse bedroom and we will start sewing to the large bedroom tomorrow.,…. Getting real. So much fun. Went brocanting today and yesterday too. Very successful. Hope all is well! Love from us. 😘
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 We don’t want to go home, absolutely love it here! Keep your fingers away from needle! It’s my birthday vacation (8/11)
You are our heroes! Can't wait to see the gite finished and dressed! You are hard workers and clearly will make a huge difference everywhere as you can do so many of the work yourself. With regards to sewing, if you have a reliable sewing machine (talking from very bad experience...), you will figure it all out! You are clearly people that teach yourselves as you go along. Well done!!!
Thank you so much Helena, for your wonderful comment and kindness. It is exciting to see it refreshed and there are more discoveries we made this weekend! And brocantes……. My parents gave us my grandmothers Pfaff sewing machine. It’s from the 1970s and a commercial machine in all metal. They had it services and repaired. Can’t wait. Last time I used it was 30+ years ago……. Not talking about that 🤣😂🤣😂. Really love your comment. So motivational. Hugs from Colombe. 💖💗💖
Thank you. Now you are putting ideas in Stuart’s head…….. love it. We might have to go with commercial title first, since everything takes ages……. Not complaining just stating the facts 🤣🤣🤣. Love your comment. Hugs. 💖
Hi guy’s ,i’ve been binge watching your videos, for two days & found them very entertaining! The Chateau is absolutely stunning, with lot’s of beautiful features! I’m very envious & wished we’d visited France, before moving to Australia 🇦🇺 from UK 🇬🇧 Wishing you both all the very best, restoring your amazing Chateau 👌 🥂🍾🥰
Hi there Sandra. Hope all is well in Australia. No more floods! Your comment made us smile. Thank you so much. We love our little chateau and agree, it has such appealing features. Now you made that huge move too. Was it very stressful for you? Now, when you come to visit the UK, hop over and take a week traveling through France. Don’t forget to stop by for a drink! Love your comment. Hugs from Colombe. 😘🥰😘
Patrick makes me laugh out loud! Patrick how do you really feel about rushing!! Lol! The cheat is looking fantastic, I love the paint choices. I wouldn’t strip the beams right now either, you can always do it later. You guys are making great progress. I’m sorry you were I’ll, thank you for your videos. I thoroughly enjoy you two!! ❤️Tammy
Hi Tammy. 🤣😂🤣. Sorry I might have been a bit direct about ruching……. I will learn to love it! 🤪😳🤪. Glad you like the paint choices. First time we ever made our own colours. We are almost back to 100%. Just got back from a Brocante 1 hour away. Scored 5 chairs and quiche/tart pans. Great finds. Beams can wait. I am so glad you see why. 🥰🥰🥰. Love your comment. Hugs from Colombe.
Hi Robert. Yes it will once we get to it (and we have to find the appropriate antique dormers to rebuild). But we sure will. Totally agree with you. 🥰😍🥰
I hope all signs of the flu are gone and your energy has returned. Your broconte finds are lovely, and I look forward to seeing you work your magic on restoring the bed crown. Any possibility you'll find the missing dormers in an out building? Listening to Patrick talk about them is a bit like watching Brett Waterman from the TV show "Restored" talk about returning craftsman homes to their former grandeur. Bon dimanche!
Hi Wanda. We are so much better. Thank you very much for asking. 💖🥰💖. We have decided that we are going to re-guilds the whole crown and then upholster it. We don’t have much hope for the dormers but you might be right and I sure hope you are!!! OMG. We watched him. Mid kill to have his waist line….. 🤭🙄🤣. Just saying. Thank you, this was wonderful to read. Hugs from Colombe. 💗😍💗
Hello Rosemarie. Thank you very much. We pushed through but each took 2 days off because we just couldn’t get going. I’m curious what Stuart puts together too! 🥰🥰🥰. Hugs.
Nothing like a mint green racing stripe in the water closet😂😂😂. You have to love old buildings to put this kind of work into them. I appreciate your desire to restore and preserve them.💗
The clock behind you is beautiful! The music when you were painting and taking the wall paper off was fun! That bed crown is beautiful! I so hope that in one of the upcoming vlogs, that you acquire a postcard of the chateau!
Oh I can’t wait to see how you rework the top floor. I love that you want it to go back to the original building. It’s so fun watching you learn more and more about the history of the chateau. I think you are going to learn that you have just scratched the surface because it had to be super important if the city square points out it’s historical value for tourists. Great job guy you are moving so fast.
So sorry about the Summer Flu!! The gite is coming along! I nearly choked laughing about the "ruched" bed crown! Patrick, your facial expressions were priceless and Stuart's successful struggle to keep it together was equally hysterical!
My dear Larry. Thank you so much. We are still not back to normal but much better. I hated ruching and now I have to like it and even make it. Karma for me. 🤣😂🤣🤪. Gîte is coming along. All the wallpaper is now gone. Yay. I’ll start painting the large bedroom today. Hope you are all cool in the heat wave. 🥰😘🥰
You guys are doing great especially with the flue. I was stupid and didn’t wear my mask into a small store back in July and got Covid . I now have a sinus infection, but have been wearing my mask every wear I go.
Oh no Betsy. So sorry. I have had plenty of sinus infections and they are awful. Hope it is all healed now. 👍🏻💖👍🏻. This was not a great 2 weeks but we are almost back to normal and the work continues. Hugs from Colombe. 💖💖💖
Hi Melissa. Thank you very much. We are getting better, finally. The farmhouse is getting there. That bed crown will be very pretty once finished. There is part of a vlog right there. 😂. Hugs from Colombe.
Can I just say - my head is spinning after that episode - the demented green striped bathroom paint (is it supposed to be toothpaste ???), the euro pop wallpaper dance and then the mystery of the missing windows - and lets not forget the Ruche - You guys are great and your home is beautiful.
A champion w=effort in the farmhouse guys. It's looking great already. so excited to see it finished. And you have had a volunteer, I would so love to as well. I would have a hoot! The dorma windows, WOW Stuart, you have an intuition! And the postcard is fascinating, I do hope you find more. Like other have said Phillip at La Lande seems to have a real talent for finding these postcards and other information. I am so en joying mu=y sort of binge watching. And yes, you two re perfectly balanced and so comical at times lol. Love it.
Agree, I’m planning a trip for 2023. I’ve so many talents, from sewing, gardening, baking to painting and love outdoors. I’m sure the guys will have many tasks for me 🥂❤️lol
Hi Angela. Indeed……. We’d love to have volunteers here. All of you in fact. It’s is so much fun to have help and have meals together! And wine or cocktails……. Or our lemon or cucumber water. Love your comment. 🥰😘🥰
Stuart, you are so right! I wasn’t going to mention it, but since you brought it up, the chateau looks a little like Cyclops 😊 and needs three dormers down the road. Patrick, remember the Christmas stars we made as kids with metallic foil in a fan like fashion? You can pleat the bed crown like that or just use soft gathering. Gathering would be easier.
I do remember the stars for Christmas. 🥰. Great idea. I’ll have the iron ready to set the fabric. Going to be fun. The face of the Château will be completely different, even though many people might not be able to point out why. It’s funny that way. Huge hugs and be well. 🥰
Thank you so much. We have to get the gîte done so no rest for the weak. 😂🤣😂. Starting to sew……. After over 30 years….. I need a prayer. 😂. It’s going to be great. Hugs my dear
When I first saw the front of the Château there was something odd with it. The very pleasant proportions were somehow disturbed with this silly dormer, much too ornamental and out of style for the otherwise frugal front. It was like the too small icing on a massive cake. Would it be two to three times bigger, it could nicely add as some kind of a later added pediment, but I thought of it as just ridiculous. Thankfully the early drawing and the postcard appeared, with the quite simple shaped three dormers that complement the house perfectly!
Yes contact Philip for sure. Nice job with the paint maybe wall paper at a later time. I would like to see the beams exposed at some point . Beautiful chateau! Keep up the nice work!
Thank you Lauren. We are debating how to proceed since we have the second part of the farm house (maybe for volunteers to have their own space) and the upstairs should get bedrooms and bathrooms. And the plans we have for the chateau……. Have to talk to the Marie when we are having a better idea. Hugs
I totally agree with you in putting back the dormers. The symmetry of the roof is going to look so much nicer. I’m anxious to see if the marble mantle discovered last week will work in one of the rooms. I always look forward to your vlogs. 😄
Wow, Patrick. You’re a painting demon … what an improvement … loving your journey and your allowing me to “piggy back” with you and Stuart is a great bonus! … from PA, USA.
Hi Paula. How is PA? I try to get it done. 🤣. Last room is the bedroom. We have to sand what I plastered……. Then 3 coats of paint and we can start to move furniture in. So glad you are joining us on the journey. Hugs from Colombe. 🤗
Hi guys ! Its been a minute. Internet had to be completely replaced so I am just catching up on you're wonderful vlogs. Glad you are both on the mend. A belated Birthday wishes Patrick ! Much love from San Francisco Bay Area ! 🌴🌉🌴🌉🌴🌉🌴💖
Hello Handsome. Glad your internet is fixed. We had ours interrupted for 2 months in Chicago on and off. Awful 😳🙄. Thank you for your birthday wishes. 😘😘😘. Hope you are well and a huge hug from the Chateau de Colombe. 💕💗💕
Hi there. I wish people would send us fabrics. 🤣. Yes she is one amazing lady and we cannot wait till they come visit. And the dormers will be restored once we find antique ones. 🥰😘🥰
I know that in last week's episode you had bought some kilner jars. If u do decide to make sloe gin please wait until after the first frost, if u pick early in the season they don't give u the depth of flavour to make a good drink. I love watching your journey and have binge watched all the previous ones. Your sense of humour shines through, good luck.
Hi Jacqueline. I know, since my grannies made sloe gin. However, we often have the first frost in late December…. All the berries will be gone. The critters ate about 200 pounds of mirabelles in 6 days…. Harvest or loose is the moto here. We’ll prick them and then freeze them. 😘
Always a pleasure to see you both sorry you have been ill and when you have alot to do as well. It makes sense that there should be three windows because one looks odd and not in line with the rest of the front of the Chateau. Take care all of you 💕Xxxx
Hi Rosa. Thank you so much for your very lovely comment. Made me smile. We are almost back to normal. Yes to 3 dormers. Have to restore them if we find antique ones. Huge hug from us. 😘
Gosh I hope you are both feeling tip top very soon! You have certainly been very busy regardless and everything is looking great! Your new acquisitions are perfection - you have a good eye for items to gather for your home. The bed crown is lovely, I look forward to it being placed in it's new home. How awesome would it be to get the dormers back to grace the chateau once again. So much on your to do list - enjoy the journey! Phillip Jensen is awesome at finding ephemera - put the bug in his ear you are looking and he may come up with a few items for you. Have a great week boys - love ya! 😊
Hey sweetie. Good to see your comment. Missing you. 😘😘😘. I’d love to put that bug in Philip’s ear. Maybe I can one day. We gave our volunteer a jar of mirabelle jam and Stephanie and Philip enjoyed it. 👍🏻. They are so wonderful. We are much better. Today we got a new delivery……. Lovely. You’ll sleep under a lovely bed crown here. I promise. We keep busy and try to get things done without stress. Or not so much stress. 🤣😂🤣. Hope you are better and all our love to you. 💗💖💗
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 Oh so pleased you are both better! Hoping we turn the corner here soon as well because coming to France would be awesome! See you in the next video! 😊
Interesting the dormers were removed from the top floor. I can understand Stuart’s question about the lack of symmetry. On a light note, the speeded up video of Patrick painting made him appear to be a dancing machine. Get your strength back and keep the adventure going. Take care, Ralph
Hi Ralph. Thank you so much. 🤗🤗🤗. I am sometimes dancing when I work. Have to loose the last 10 kg. 👍🏻🤪👍🏻. Totally need the two dormers. And we are cracking on!
Love seeing work being done. Can't wait to see you decorate and dress the rooms. With your good taste I'm sure you'll turn that Farmhouse into sth unique😃
Hi Kim. Thank you so much. The bed crown was a lucky find and will be a fun project. The pale pink is the result of 22 years of fading due to sunLight. Hugs from Colombe.
Loving the bed crown. French brocantes seem to be wonderful places. We have similar here, but our prices are a lot less reasonable. I hope you are soon well again. I am still wearing a mask in shops and transport. I know nothing of architectural history, but the three dormer windows do look somehow as if they should be there. Thank you for the video!
Hi Daniel. Thank you so much. It is cute and pretty. We just got home from a Brocante that is about 70 minutes drive south of us. Was a success! 😉. 5 antique chairs for 20 Euro……. We wore the mask at the stores today. Not knowing if we might still be able to pass this flu on. It’s safer. Glad you do it too. Love your comments. Hugs. 😘🥰😘
Hi Judy. Isn’t that the truth. It is quite amazing how just some paint changes the mood in a room. 😳💖. Stuart does all the editing and music……. Thank you so much for your comment. Hugs.

Thank you so much Jayne. So glad we can make you and other viewers laugh. I just love your comment. Hugs
Good luck with your bed crown, ypu two are so funny your humour makes me laugh and I am glad you both are on the mend from your man flu xx 💕🌼🌼🤗
Hey Carole. Thank you so much. The bed crown is amazing. Love it. Yes, we are better and I love that we make you smile. 😘🥰😘
The bow on that bed crown reminds me of the clock from the accidental auction.
Wow...! You two worked really fast!
Patrick, you need a long handle for your roller. The leverage makes it easier .
I have one for the ceilings. But I’m too lazy to use it on walls I can reach but you are right. 🙄😘🥰
Hi fellas! Just now watching from Montreal! Love the paint colors! I agree you need those dormers back.
Montreal?
@@wenDesigner OMG Happy birthday!!!!!! Have fun and we will open a bubbly and toast to your birthday!!!!! 😘😘😘😘😘
Having it right now. Cheers darling, a great new year and we love you (and Tanky of course). 🥰💖🥰🍾🥂🍾
Agree with Stuart theres something amiss without 3 dormers.
Absolutely. 🥰
Love the chairs. The illustration from the book of Cher, would make a wonderful toile for your bed crown and bedroom curtains..
Thank you. Now you are putting ideas in Stuart’s head…….. love it. We might have to go with commercial title first, since everything takes ages……. Not complaining just stating the facts 🤣🤣🤣. Love your comment. Hugs. 💖
Ooo strip the beams and the doors…just a little more work 😉
LOL. Are you offering? I did the beams. Leaving the 200 year old paint that now is like a glaze. It looks great. 👍🏻.
So proud of you for doing the beams. I’ll let you know if I think of anything else 🤔.
You guys are hilarious. I'm enjoying your channel immensely. Can't wait to see the gete.
Anytime next year I would love to come over and help you both.
Hi Kate. We’d be thrilled and honored to have you here. Plenty to do but time to have fun as well. Hugs from Colombe. 😘💗😘
Love the bed crown….great find!
Thank you so much. Hugs
Loved this week's blog, thank you and as always you make me laugh Patrick, you are a great team.
Hi Susan. Thank you so much for your kindness and for making me smile. Hugs.
Can't wait until next week.
Love you. 😘🥰😘
Stuart & Patrick I am really enjoying your vlog’s I am watching from the very beginning. Crack on as the English say with all of your projects. 🤗
Thank you! ❤️
Hi guy’s ,i’ve been binge watching your videos, for two days & found them very entertaining!
The Chateau is absolutely stunning, with lot’s of beautiful features!
I’m very envious & wished we’d visited France, before moving to Australia 🇦🇺 from UK 🇬🇧
Wishing you both all the very best, restoring your amazing Chateau 👌
🥂🍾🥰
Hi there Sandra. Hope all is well in Australia. No more floods! Your comment made us smile. Thank you so much. We love our little chateau and agree, it has such appealing features. Now you made that huge move too. Was it very stressful for you? Now, when you come to visit the UK, hop over and take a week traveling through France. Don’t forget to stop by for a drink! Love your comment. Hugs from Colombe. 😘🥰😘
I had to chuckle. Every time your blog starts I think there needs to be two more dormers.
Hi Jack. 🤣🤣. That cracked me up. I’m hearing about the dormers for 9 months now and I agree every time. 🤣🤣😘
Oh what a difference it would make to the roof line if you put the other two dormers back, it would look so elegant..
Hi Robert. Yes it will once we get to it (and we have to find the appropriate antique dormers to rebuild). But we sure will. Totally agree with you. 🥰😍🥰
I think it will be great to restore the chateau to 3 dormers. It gives it a more finished look.
Glad you are feeling better. You have done a lot despite not feeling so good. Looking forward to next week’s vlog. Thanks for sharing 😍😘
Hello Rosemarie. Thank you very much. We pushed through but each took 2 days off because we just couldn’t get going. I’m curious what Stuart puts together too! 🥰🥰🥰. Hugs.
I did so enjoy your chat on the house and all the happenings so far thankyou
Hi Vivienne. You are so kind. Thank you so much. Hugs from Colombe. 😘🥰😘
Contact Philippe at La Lande--he seems to be an expert at finding post cards!!! 😁❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶👏👏👏🇨🇦🇫🇷
We will ask him. He is amazing at finding them. Love it. 💕💖💕
Nothing like a mint green racing stripe in the water closet😂😂😂. You have to love old buildings to put this kind of work into them. I appreciate your desire to restore and preserve them.💗
Hey Sarah. That racing stripe……. Mmmmmmmm. Yummy. 🤣😂🤣. Thank you for such a fun comment. 😘
The clock behind you is beautiful! The music when you were painting and taking the wall paper off was fun! That bed crown is beautiful! I so hope that in one of the upcoming vlogs, that you acquire a postcard of the chateau!
Hi Pam. Ohhhh. That would be amazing to get a few postcards of the chateau. 🤗🥰🤗. Glad you liked the music. It was different and fun. Hugs from Colombe
I want and needs that bed crown!! Doesn't everyone! Great find. Keep up the laughs and fun amidst your hard work! Enjoy ❤
Hi Donna. That was indeed a great find! I love it. Now I’m off to pick mirabelles so we can share them with Not quite a chateau later today. 😘
I love seeing how you two interact with each other. The fingers over the mouth when a change order is necessary....Adorable!
Hi Chris 😂. Thank you. What a fun comment. 😘🥰😘
Hi Rowena. I absolutely love your comment. Thank you so much. We will discover much more. It’s fascinating. Hugs from Colombe. 💖
I love it when you laugh. All best.
Hi Sidney. Thank you so much for your comment. Love it. The best. 🥰😍🥰
...the only thing i miss is hearing the clinking ice cubes in the drinks...😉😲
😂🤣😂🍸. I love it. Next week it will be back! I promise. 💗💖💕
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 👌
So sorry about the Summer Flu!! The gite is coming along! I nearly choked laughing about the "ruched" bed crown! Patrick, your facial expressions were priceless and Stuart's successful struggle to keep it together was equally hysterical!
Thank you Larry! 💕
Manor and maker couple could maybe help with the recover of the crown!
I’ll ask Sarah. She’s amazing! Thank you.
can't wait so see the finished farmhouse and so interesting about the missing dormer windows !!!
Considering you’ve both been ill it’s amazing how much you’ve managed to achieve this last week👍I hope you both feel better soon 🙂👋
Janet, that is so kind of you to say! Thank you very much. That means so much to us. Hugs from Colombe. 😘🥰😘
Love that you are both laughing and enjoy the journey.
Hi Ray. Thank you so much. We do laugh a lot and only through the vlogs did we notice. Isn’t that funny. Hugs from Colombe. 👍🏻💖👍🏻
Really enjoy watching your vlogs, love your sense of humour and how you're making such great progress 😊
Thank you Carole. It made me smile to see your lovely comment. We are progressing and I love that you see that. Hugs from Colombe. 🥰😘🥰
Hope y'all feel better soon! Y'all are getting loads done in the gite. That bed crown will be magnificent when redone. Can't wait until next week!
Hi Catherine. Your comment made my day. Thank you so much. Hugs from Colombe. 😍🥰😍
Love it.
thank you, Cliff! 🥰
We are missing …we need to be there to help you asap ❤️
Agree, I’m planning a trip for 2023. I’ve so many talents, from sewing, gardening, baking to painting and love outdoors. I’m sure the guys will have many tasks for me 🥂❤️lol
Exactly. Wouldn’t it be great to come and actually help out. Who cares the scenery is splendid
Hi Angela.
Hi guys...hope you are feeling better and love the progress at the gite, you are moving along nicely.
Thanks, we are almost 100%. Thank goodness. The gîte is lovely. I enjoy working there so much. Thank you so much for your comment. Hugs. 💖
The rose bud, bed crown 😂🤭
Isn’t it cute. 🤣. Love it and looking forward to restoring it.
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 so chić
Thank you for sharing very interesting re the three dormer windows.
Now we need to find 2 or 3 matching dormers. Roofers are book here for a year. Better figure out how to do it ourselves. Hugs.
Find a seamstress and she can recreate that rushing on that bed crown for you. I sew too but I am in the US.
Wonderful to see your enthusiasm even when you are trying to recover from flu! Lots of progress on the gite - it will be a lovely place to stay!
Thank you so much. We have to get the gîte done so no rest for the weak. 😂🤣😂. Starting to sew……. After over 30 years….. I need a prayer. 😂. It’s going to be great. Hugs my dear
Hugs from Colombe. 😍
I agree - three dormers would look much better
Yes contact Philip for sure. Nice job with the paint maybe wall paper at a later time. I would like to see the beams exposed at some point . Beautiful chateau! Keep up the nice work!
Thank you Lauren. We are debating how to proceed since we have the second part of the farm house (maybe for volunteers to have their own space) and the upstairs should get bedrooms and bathrooms. And the plans we have for the chateau……. Have to talk to the Marie when we are having a better idea. Hugs
Love everything you do. You two are hard working. You're doing great. Take time to rest
Thank you so much Rhonda. So very kind of you. Hugs from Colombe. 🥰
I totally agree with you in putting back the dormers. The symmetry of the roof is going to look so much nicer. I’m anxious to see if the marble mantle discovered last week will work in one of the rooms. I always look forward to your vlogs. 😄
Thank you so much Jeff. Agreed to both. We are still not sure where the mantle was…… 😳. Love your comment. 😘🥰😘

Maybe it’s just my eyes, but it looks like there is some difference in the colour of the roof tiles where the two additional windows would have been
It is just discoloration in the tiles from weather. The roof is newer, so there is no trace of the old dormer windows.
I hope you’re both feeling better soon! Stephanie Jarvis can help you with curtains and the bed crown - she’s fantastic with fabrics! Take care!
And I think it will look so much better with the other dormers added back. You’re doing an amazing job!
Hi there. I wish people would send us fabrics. 🤣. Yes she is one amazing lady and we cannot wait till they come visit. And the dormers will be restored once we find antique ones. 🥰😘🥰
I wish I had fabric to send!
That was wonderful, what a delight. Thank you from 🇨🇦
Hello Linda. How is Canada doing? Very much appreciate your comment. Much love and a hug 😘🥰😘
Thank you, Lisa! 💕

Hi Joan. Thank you so much. You are so kind. 🥰. We are almost back to normal. So glad you are on this journey with us. Hugs. 😍
I had to come back and watch again because I missed the first part. Absolutely love 💗 the bed crown. Btw also love the pink colored wall behind you.
Hi Kim. Thank you so much. The bed crown was a lucky find and will be a fun project. The pale pink is the result of 22 years of fading due to sunLight. Hugs from Colombe.
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 who cares if it’s faded, it’s simply a fabulous color. Wonder if you can color match? Hmmm
Good progress this week…keep well
Hi there. Yes, progress and more this week. Hugs. 😘
Hugs. 😘🥰😘
Wow! A little (actually lots of) the right color paint does wonders! The accompanying music to time lapses really worked.
Hi Judy. Isn’t that the truth. It is quite amazing how just some paint changes the mood in a room. 😳💖. Stuart does all the editing and music……. Thank you so much for your comment. Hugs.
What a joy it is to watch your videos guys .Love how you fill them with such interesting content I must say I love the colour pallete you are using great colors Cheers Kay From Australia xxx
Hi there Kay. Glad you like our colours. It made me smile to see your comment. Such a huge compliment. Thank you. Hugs.

helping out. We Aussi Jennifers are good value in my humble opinion! 😌😉 Hopefully I’ll be there too someday.
Love the idea of restoring the 3 dormers too.
And that bed crown will be some project for you but well worth it. Also I really like your little red lamp behind you both in the video.
