What do you think of the game so far? Personally, I really dig the art style. My family is pretty big on board games, and this seems right up our alley.
My only complaint is that it will come out after the holidays, which is when my family gets together to play a bunch of games. Oh well, we'll just have to wait till next year to play it. Still going to pre-order it as soon as I can get down to my FLGS
Stained-glass-style art is 100% my aesthetic. I love each and every piece of art you've shown, so I'm down to try this one out! I hope they have a deal with the artists to release some of this kind of art as prints as well.
Thank you so much for talking about the game! Making the stain glass art with homages to deeper lore was a delight! There's a lot hiding in there, so I hope people take the time to see small details :) I am so proud of the whole team, and a little over-excited at how clear and easy to understand Bryan's game play design, and how much Forever Stoked Creative's team enhanced the artwork with their graphic design!! I hope people fall in love with the game play and that corners get frayed and worn from over use
I grew up playing tressette, so when I saw this I got really excited! I'm so impressed with how they managed to make a trick taking game cooperative, let alone have it fit with the story!
Great game, played it at PAX Unplugged and managed to snag a copy. Played through chapter 3 with my group tonight and had a blast. It definitely gets harder as you progress through the chapters but very fun nonetheless and thematic. The best part was strategizing the characters once Frodo is selected.
My world collide. I've been a Tolkien fan since 1969, and a solo trick-taker fan since 2020. I ran across this video on boardgamegeek and thought "Wait a minute, I know that guy. I was listening to the Rop watch party this morning at midnight." The gameplay looks a lot like The Crew, which I own, but I'm intrigued by the theme. I'm glad there's a solomode.
I tried out the mechanics of the solomode with both versions of The Crew, and it felt great. I preordered this as soon as I knew I'd enjoy the gameplay. I'm loving the artwork, and the book characters that don't show up in the movies. I'm a little sad that they went with fat Sam, which seems to be a trope that started with the Hildebrandts in the 1970s and was perpetuated in the cartoons and live-action movies. He's not described that way in the book. If anything, it's Frodo who looks at his own reflection and thinks he's overweight and needs to walk off some pounds at the beginning of the story. (Well, and of course Fredegar Bolger.) Frodo's middle-aged, unlike the much younger and more physically active Sam. I hope Boromir (and maybe someday Faramir) will be dark-haired and grey-eyed.
I'm so interested in this game, as a LOTR fan and as a game designer. One of my favorite games is The Crew -a cooperative trick taker, so this is definitely my cup of tea. One of my favorite decks of cards is the Theory 11 LOTR, and I designed a solitaire game specifically for it if anyone is interested I have an overview video on my channel on March 26th 2024. No, I'm not sponsored by Theory 11, I just really like the deck and wanted a cool game I could play with it: You play as Sauron trying to corrupt and take over Middle Earth :)
Trick taking is trick taking, you know? I still don’t know what a trick taking game is from the initial explanation. No I don’t know cuz I haven’t played any of the other listed games. LOL
One person leads by playing a card. (Usually, going clockwise from the lead player) Everyone else plays a card. Whoever plays the best card wins (takes) the trick and gets to lead the next one.
Idk did the money they make with Habros MTG make them think they should create their own…. Don’t get me wrong I love Board and card games and I’d be game to play it… but idk allot of these games that aren’t a skin.. on another .. tend to either be bad or just never get a fallowing so it’s a novelty… guess we’ll see what happens
Oh look, another comment from someone mad about a LOTR channel talking about things related to LOTR. 🙄 Are my similar interviews with people from the LOTR films “merch-hocking” the movies? Lmao
Homie is dropping lore video’s, rings of power break downs (which have in depth lore pieces when applicable), and able to also have different medias spot lights like this one. Take ur lame ass dog somewhere else

Pre-Ordered immediately. This is so amazing!
VERY excited for this! My brother hosts game nights at breweries and we can’t wait to introduce this game!

Art style is 7/10 for me. The Game feels like it could be an 8-9 for me.
So amazing to watch!! This was a blast to work on with Bryan!!
This is so cool! Hoping to see more on your channel about this now that the news has broke :)
Bryan is my mom! 👩🏻

Your artwork absolutely CRUSHES it on this game!

I have The Crew…and this shares a lot of the same DNA….but the theme alone makes this one a must buy!
100% I’m buying this!
Love playing cooperative games with my family :)
Love playing cooperative games with your family too, I join you guys
This looks great, beautiful art style. And finally, we get Glorfindel!!! 🙌
Thank you Bryan for a great explanation of the game!

Great interview! Bryan’s imagination and design philosophy is so inspiring and fun to listen to. And, of course, I love LotR (as everyone should 😉)
This would be a great game to play for our board game channel. So awesome! Fantastic art.
Artwork looks great! Very Tolkien

Preordered immediately .. greetings from germany
Preordered mine too. Probably the first game ever that I preordered over 3 months ahead.
The artwork looks gorgeous
I love that the game adapts the novel and incorporates characters not in the film. Just pre-ordered!
The game sounds like a lot of fun!
This looks so cool!
Looks amazing. Sadly, as a solo gamer, the hidden information aspect probably means ill have to pass on it myself. Hope everyone else enjoys it.
There is an official solomode. I posted a link but it's not showing up. I preordered the game specifially to play solo.
Finally a lord of the Rings game where you aren't just fighting the whole time 🙏
Neato burrito!🌯
Can you please Make a video about vaynar elves, im really interested and cant find nothing much about them in the silmarilion
Hey, do you ever talk about the lord of the rings game from the 70s that takes about 30 hours to play, and even longer to read the directions?
you know you know you know
Tremendous
Watched the whole stream so don’t know what a trick game is
Cool
What exactly does your hat say, Matt, sir?

Garcia Timothy Miller Frank Gonzalez Nancy
there's 9 fellowsship members, not 4
the 4 are only for the first chapter. You will see dozens and dozens of characters throughout the rest of the 18 chapters in the game

Yukur is a fun game to do again I’d be game but I’m just worried about it’s longevity
Oh look, another merch-hocking video from the channel that used to put out more lore-related content than sponsored content. 😒
Oh look, another comment from someone mad about a LOTR channel talking about things related to LOTR. 🙄 Are my similar interviews with people from the LOTR films “merch-hocking” the movies? Lmao
Strange you make this kind of comment seeing as the amount of his lore-related content hasn't actually decreased.
Homie is dropping lore video’s, rings of power break downs (which have in depth lore pieces when applicable), and able to also have different medias spot lights like this one. Take ur lame ass dog somewhere else
Oh look another comment from someone ignorant. His lore content hasn’t changed one bit
Sounds super lame
They didnt race swap characters like thety did in MTG?
Tremendous
